Getting to 70 Leatherworking with Heavensward collectable as they give full xp right up until 70 and the weebland collectable are shit. Saving my leves for the extremely gay to grind ones like WVR and ALC.

I don't get why everyone says Heavensward is amazing. I just finished it and although the final cutscene was pretty cool before the final boss, it was just meh.
Every character was very one dimensional and your generic "i want to save everyone because im just that pure" or "im an edgelord who's going to destroy the world because im overreacting". The only character that escaped this fate and was somewhat complex was the Pope himself but he barely gets any screentime.

Then you have stupid as fuck cutscene writing a lot of times. Like that moment later on where you're facing the Imperial general Regula and his squad, and it's you, Alphinaud, Y'Shtola and Estinien. In the cutscene he escapes, and Estinien says "damn it!", expressing regret at his powerlessness to stop him from escaping, except the guy literally just did a 180ยบ and walked away. Estinien literally jumped 100ft in the air, landed on a dragon's head and 1 shot him earlier on in the campaign. He would've stopped that guy from running if he wanted.

The game has 0 consistency in its writing.

The success of wall to wall pulls are actually based on 60% DPS, 20% tank and 20% healer. Any healer can spam their way through a wall to wall pull, but eventually they run out of good spells, the tank runs out of cooldowns and they wipe because DPS isn't enough.

Every 2 levels I make sure all my crafters are at the same level. For example when I hit 72 on WVR, I'll get all my other crafters to 72 before continuing.
This saves a lot of armory chest space and also ensures you can always craft materials for other crafters.

so I had been maining healer all my fucking life and had become quite adept at it, did high end duties and shit as an Astrologian and was a perfectly fine player. Even though of course I had leveled tank and DPS jobs I never cared to put effort in them because they were mostly for unimportant stuff to break the monotony or whatever

However, this expansion I found Dancer so much fun that I started maining one and I must ask something because its fucking killing me:
It all started when I saw that my DPS was lackluster, despite doing the rotation seemingly well, then I learnt that my shit DPS was because of very small mistakes. Jesus fucking christ, really? It feels so fucking stressful to know that you can't fuck up a single fucking input during a whole fight or else you are underperforming! As a healer you have 20 tools to heal and you have to know how to use them well in every situation, but as a DPS you are also required perfect execution and coordination and whatever the fuck

Are all DPS like this? I doubt you can go more retardo modo than Dancer and still feels impossible to handle all the procs in the middle of doing mechanics

Healing is stressful because a bad healer will wipe a group, an average healer (low dps but healing fine) won't wipe the group and the difference between that and a great healer is not gigantic.
Bad DPS get carried by all the other DPS and anything the Tank/Healer do damage wise. So it's easier to say "being a DPS is so easy".

if you think it's a waste of space then you are definitely not a good white mage. You can toss out a bene on a pack and continue the holy chain. You can use as effective mitigation while continue to dps such as titania. There are many uses for it if you plan to use it.

TBN is an ability that gives DRK old warrior tank stance. It alone is not as good as any form of actual % damage reduction. Just because DRK gets to shield itself making it look like it takes no damage does not mean it takes no damage. Most DRKs use it in combination with other cooldowns (like you should be doing with your version of TBN). If I have to tell what that is for the other tanks then you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

iLvl means more of a difference on your damage output now, so a player using everything in their toolkit vs. a braindead netflix dps hitting 1-2-3-buff will be dramatic. Last time this was a problem was back in Heavensward, but it was more due to difficulty of playing certain classes optimally thanks to strict rotation timers on a lot of them.

you're a retard. not that guy, but whereas it's not the greatest idea to stack damage reducing cool downs, you absolutely should pair TBN up with something else everytime. The damage that goes onto the shield is applied AFTER the damage mitigation and lasts longer as well.

You'd know this if you weren't a roulette hero and tried to get away with just a TBN on certain savage tank busters.

A lot of Heavensward's appeal was in the setup.

ARR's final MSQ basically puts you in the worst spot you've been in to date with the Scions MIA, Nanamo 'dead', Raubahn imprisoned and you being a wanted criminal stuck with Alphinaud (who was unlikable in ARR).

Heavensward MSQ did a great job making it feel like you getting back to your roots on an adventure up until the point where you defeat Nidhogg first time round (did I mention almost all of the dungeons were pretty hype) and actually made Alphinaud super likable in a way that didn't feel forced. Everything to do with House Fortemps and Hauchefaunt was on point too.

HW also had some of the best zones of the series. Churning Mists in particular. Azys Lla divides opinions but it had great music and was pretty damn unique. Ishgard itself was a very comfy city - while Kugane has more eye candy, no city has felt more like 'home' than Ishgard imo. Pretty much all of the zones were a huge step-up from ARR.

Finally, the final boss, while WAY TOO EASY, was pretty kino - and still has the best boss ultimate of the series.

HW wasn't perfect but it was much better on release than SB and felt especially good as it was such a big step-up from a lot of the crap from ARR.

You should never EVER use your "OH FUCK" button as part of a beginning of a pull. It's a waste and I generally think if they can't handle getting smacked or properly use their cooldowns then they shouldn't even play tank.

Me and the boys got a WAR during the 75 dungeon who thought it was a smart idea to pull wall to wall but he popped Rampart AND Vengeance at the beginning of the pull.
Generally it's smart to wait until you get to the end of the pull to pop your cooldowns and it's a fucking stupid idea to pop both your minute+ cooldowns at the beginning of what's probably going to be a somewhat long fight.
Smart WARs will pop Rampart and Raw Intuition + Shake it Off for the shield benefit of using your CDs and then hold onto Vengeance if shit gets dicey - which it might if it's a long fight - And if it does get dicey, using Vengeance and Raw Int or Vengeance + Nascent Flash + Inner Release to restore your HP.
holmgang should almost never be used if you are doing things right or if you have to for a tank buster or for mechanic alternatives with EX or Savage.

What heals are you actually incorporating into your rotation, because I'm pretty sure I usually use 4 GCD heals on innocence unless things go to absolute shit. 2 of them are prepull and the other 2 are when he's untargetable doing his ultimate. Therefore, my rotation is actually static aside from pressing Ruin 2 instead of Broil sometimes.

I know it's not the same as early savage prog or ultimate, but healing is not some monumental task in this game.

The problem with Azys Lla is that outside the MSQ, it's a waste of space and the only redeeming quality, I find, is the fact that this ancient land along with Churning Mists untouched by man is just a 5 minute spectacle until the merchants start setting up shop and treating it like another business venture. Northern Thanalan has the same problem. Break Castrum and Praetorium, not really much else to do with it despite all it's heavy lore significance. The Lochs at least continues to be majorly important to the story despite being the biggest wasteland of end zones.

9.9k, there was no DNC buff, forgot if there was an AST, but why would either matter? I was under the impression that pDPS is your dps with all the party buffs taking into account and rDPS is your own raw dps without taking any party buffs like DNC and shit into account. My point is ACT is showing 12.8k with buffs (pDPS) and then fflogs is showing 10.1k pDPS. Like what th efuck

The default just got switched over to rDPS, which is:
Damage you dealt + damage others gained from buffs you used - damage you gained from buffs others used.
pDPS is the raw amount of damage you did with all buffs applied to you.

Either that or your parser is jacked somehow, you can lose a few hundred personal DPS on an upload due to overload or slight differences in calculation, but I've never seen 2k get removed unless it was due to padding on unncessary adds.

Not him but let's look at numbers here for a second. Assuming you are not scared of fact talk and just wanted to be bias, which is actually the idea I get from you but whatever.
TBN gives you 25% of your max hp as shield. For a 25% damage reduction skill to reduce that amount, you'd have to be in a situation where you were going to take 100% of your hp in damage during its duration. Heart of stone doesn't reduce damage by 25% though, does it? It's 15. So for Heart of Stone to equal the damage reduction of TBN, you'd need to be in a situation where you were going to take about 167% of your hp in damage during its duration of 7 seconds. Hardly a competition for tank busters, but we're talking about dungeon pulls so that amount of damage can indeed happen.

But hold on a second, we forgot to take in account the cooldowns, didn't we? TBN has a 15 second cooldown while Heart has a 25 second cooldown. That changes the comparison quite a bit because now Heart of Stone has to compensate for that in order to break even. In a dungeon pull we're talking about a scenario where you'll want to keep defensives up as often as possible while there are still mobs alive whacking at you, so those can be used (virtually) on cooldown. We're looking at a frequency of roughly 1.7 times higher for TBN. If we apply that into the numbers I just went over with, for Heart to come so much as break even with the mitigation TBN brings, you would need to be in a situation where you were going to take 283% of your hp in 7 seconds. Only then can Heart break even, let alone "be better". How often does that sort of damage come? When was the last time you felt like you took almost 3 times your max hp in 7 seconds? Been a while for me. But then again, see what I started the post with. I don't expect you to actually give a fuck, you just seem interested in being bias, so go ahead and continue to shitpost.

pDPS is your DPS with all buffs counted and rDPS is your DPS with both incoming and outgoing buffs counted. pDPS artificially inflates the damage numbers of selfish DPS who do not give any buffs and in fact take all the buffs. Similarly, jobs like red mage or dancer, which do not typically receive buffs but give out damage buffs to the party, finally get their actual contribution counter through rDPS because the damage output they give to the party is no longer being claimed as part of the damage of selfish classes that take and give nothing in return.

Rdps is the superior measurement. Fuck pDPSfags

Yeah and their, what- 5 minute gap between music loops? I love the Floating City and flute solo in the La Noscea field music, but they're really average in comparison with too long gaps in between. Yeah he is one of my primary references when people ask about the dub. I do think that the normally dull JP voice makes the his anger more impactful in the last fight though, mainly when he's pissed off about the blessing of light and goes full darkness on you.

It was pretty much mostly just the first episode, so people went in expecting some normal lighthearted fantasy series or something, and got the adventures of medieval DoomGuy and rape goblins.

Also the full rage of the dragon army is against the Ishgardians, the Gnath are more of a home annoyance that they try to maneuver around.

Eh i cant agree with that at all. I could maybe live with Alisaie but the pixies made me unironically and physically cringe. And the schoolgirl thing is overstated (or you haven't actually tried the JP voices)

You're a weeb and deluded. I'm fluent in nip and the casting and direction of the JP dub is derivative and uninspired. The ENG dub has its hiccups and a couple unforgivable casting decisions but it at least has variety and is somewhat believable.
