Why did we let Kojima make games after MGS3, again?

You should be asking yourself, "why did we force him to make games after MGS3 again?"

Attached: 8698769869.png (1233x1127, 1.04M)

Because we begged for him to. Big mistake on our part.

This is a good point. Should've just had him make indie movies after that.

I liked TPP more than most of the others because of the gameplay. It was a nice breath of fresh air after the mess that was 4

>roleplay
Explain

Kojimmy and Murata talk about how they wanted to make the player define Venom's story and character
>no actual opportunity to do so, he's just a silent protagonist but his actions are all set in stone
>killing Quiet is clearly the "wrong" choice since it clashes with the Act 1 ending and just cuts you out of content
>nuclear disarmament is not canon anyway because Venom is building a nuke launching metal gear in Outer Heaven during MG1 anyway

Death Stranding is really gonna make or break Kojima in the eyes of the mainstream huh

>literally the 2nd best MGS
Yea Forums stop seething over old game good new game bad

Venom's character is not his own but rather the player's; it is a reflection of the player and who he/she thinks Snake/Big Boss is and how Snake/Big Boss should act.

However, he has a "former self", which is where he has his own character (based on players in general). It exists to make his insertion into the game and the story not seem so uncalled for, abrupt, out of nowhere, odd, wacky, and out of place.

If they directly introduced Venom as "your very own Big Boss" right at the start of the game, you would be shitting your pants and making bunch of angry yelling noises that would get your neighbors straight to calling the cops.

The real question is why did we force him to make MGS3?

MGS2 was the real ending.

MGSV is TERRIBLE. Is DISGUSTING that you try defend this piece of shit, DISGUSTING.

>Venom's just a silent protagonist
They gave him no dialogue choices, unlike RPGs, and instead, wanted the player to have the freedom to come up with their own.

That sounds shitty but it's true. Original, too. Unfortunately, with tons of negative feedback.

Reminder that Kojima thinks that Big Boss is the real Snake (and that, implicitly, Solid Snake is just a lifeless phony copycat of him), according to the MGSV translation script.

When are you going to submit to the Big Bosschads?

Attached: Big Boss is the real, true Snake, Solidfaggots BTFO.png (467x82, 4K)

That's kinda like when Warren Spector said that they deliberately directed the voice actors in Deus Ex to give flat performances so the player can imagine the emotions themselves. That doesn't work that way

Why does Kojimbo hate Solid so much?

I doubt it. Kojima's like Steve Jobs or Jim Jones. He can do no wrong in the eyes of his fans. His games are just weird enough and have enough plotholes that your average normie will be like "Huh, really makes you think," and ignore all of the gameplay, storytelling, and presentation faults because they want to seem cool for liking a Kojima game.

MGS 1 was the only competently made MGS, and even then wasn't particularly good. It was just the first time console kiddies got to experience something deeper than *Bing Bing WA-HOO*.

>dialogue choices
>in Metal Gear

And JC still came out with 100x more personality than Venom.

I'm sure Kojima is just ashamed of his words and deeds in MGS 1 saying that genes don't define who you are.

>Extract MGSV audio data
>Disable music and unrealistic ambience wherever possible
Jesus christ, everything sounds awkward now.

What were you expecting to happen retard?

Attached: umad.png (684x243, 30K)

Well, yes. Because JC at least got some pretty good lines.

>Movies without music and extra SFX sound awkward and uncanny
>Cinematic games without music and extra SFX sound awkward and uncanny
Gee.

The game that explains Big Boss' descent into villainy is Peace Walker, not MGS3. In MGS3, he's named "Big Boss" by the government, but he refuses the name. Only in Peace Walker, he throws the Boss' will away and finally becomes the villain.

And Psycho Mantis actually has superpowers.

Is this the daily MGSV vs MGS4 thread? I’ll say the little gameplay in 4 was so much more enjoyable over V any day. I’ll take condensed linear gameplay over the casualized empty sandbox.

What is a video game without music?

I think the problem many had with MGSV was that each mission didn't feel unique. Like with Ground Zeroes, where your main mission takes part in that island with Camp Omega. In MGSV, except for very few missions, you're always coming back to the same places every few missions - even if the place isn't the "main" part of the mission itself, you're supposed to at least pass through it, instead of just being dumped straight into the mission.

I know they wanted to give it an episodic feel with all the missions having an intro and an outro, like a TV episode, but that just pads the game excessively. The worst missions are that one where you need to rescue Huey (why the hell do you start all the way back at the Power Plant?) and that one where you need to rescue the kids.

I'll say that I actually used tricks to get past most of those missions, because the scripted path is hella bad. Like call the chopper in the middle of the Kungenga Mine instead of following the kids through that forest full of enemies and a gunship.

you have not played pay peace walker and discovered the joys of CO-OPS.

>mfw I discovered you can defeat those tank side ops in 1 minute with friends
>mfw I spent 1 hour and a half trying to stealth that fucking helicopter in one of the last side ops
I guess this was one of the reasons they gave you infinite supply drops (as long as you had the money) in MGSV.

I feel your lonelyness .. wanna play co-ops on PS3 ?

I'm up in 20 minutes if you want

>waste 20 hours trying to develop that rifle with 7 shots to defeat the helicopter
>develop stealth mat
>shoot the helicopter once and run back to the building like a bitch to hide
>all the while my friends do lol HUMAN SLINGSHOT and one-shot the chopper
Life's not fair for solo gamers.

IIRC, you could also capture the vehicles if you were playing co-op?

>Reminder that Kojima thinks that Big Boss is the real Snake (and that, implicitly, Solid Snake is just a lifeless phony copycat of him)

But that doesn't make any sense if you look at Kojima's own writing for Snake from MG-MGS4. He has always been a nuanced character with a great deal of opinions about war, freedom, and honor. He's an artificial human but that was barely half his character.

(You)
>scriptwriters always call Big Boss just "the real Snake" and not "the real Big Boss"/"Big Boss"
>they also always call the body double just "the avatar Snake"/"the Avatar" and not "Venom"
What did they mean by this?

Also,
>scriptwriters always call Big Boss just "the real Snake" and not "the real Big Boss"/"Big Boss"
>they also always call the body double just "the avatar Snake"/"the Avatar" and not "Venom"
What did they mean by this?

if you capture a vehicle (tank or helicopter), each player of the session get the vehicle in his Mecha warehouse.

are you so desperate to complain that you have to make up promises that were supposedly broken?

>deleting your shit two times just to correct it
You could have listed the mistakes you made and corrected them in a single post without having to copy and paste everything, you know.

Anyways, Naked and Venom are Big Boss. It's just a title.

Everyone in here except apparently you seems to think that, yes. What makes you so special?

sad to tell you that but MGS2 was forced.

Kojima was forced to do military espionage since Metal Gear - 1987.

whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

This. The only somewhat "meaningful" games during the PS1 era were MGS and SH.

Basically what these anons said
Also Ghost Babel is generic rubbish compared to 1,2,3 and even 4. I also love how the image use IGN's 10/10 score to justify why it's good like the didn't give MGS4 and MGS5 10/10s as well. So now what?

Boycott this piece of nonsense.
