Having played it, it definitely has a stronger focus on the more classic RPG elements. The dialogue is similar to FNV and there are a lot of things about it that feel familiar.
The version I played was a pretty early build but it definitely didn't feel ready for release. I'm hopeful the delay gives them time to refine it because it really did need it.
I'd say I'm optimistic, but not hype. Also, I think expected just New Vegas 2 might be a bit much, but it honestly isn't too far off from that.

New Vegas was a right time, right place sort of game and an entry in an already well-established cult series. This is a wrong time, wrong place original IP with bland gameplay and an unremarkable aesthetic.
