Any must have mods?
Of the Todd ones, it's the worst vanilla but the best modded.
It’s pretty bad, but worth a play
the OST is so great to me. Along with super mario world and pokemon 2nd and 3rd gen, they evoke this incredible sense of melancholic nostalgia. It is one of my favorites of all time.
>best modded
Those mods being?
It’s not a good game. It won numerous accolades and “Game of the Year” awards from videogames media, probably because the editors-in-chief of such publications felt some sort of obligation — so long we’d sat in that cursed meeting room, so long wanting to get our hands on the precious controller and play precious the game — after having pumped it up for so long. It was a weird, hot fad, all of a sudden, even, for the jock-gamers who play Halo 2 on Xbox Live while seated firmly in a leg-press machine, lifting half-tons as the controller vibrates: fuckin’ steroid freaks were playing Oblivion; it was showing up on their gamer cards, they were recommending it to their friends. Why? God, why? I guess it’s because it was well “produced”. In this era where the “Lord of the Rings” movies were able to pop up in cinemas and make billions of dollars despite their being about elves and fairies, being three hours long, being three movies instead of one, and being directed by a fat man (whose appearance Hollywood had tried to hide like Area 51), fantasy and assorted fantasy memorabilia is almost right up there with NASCAR T-shirts on the list of things to buy your third husband Bobby for his first birthday since the quadruplets were born. Somehow, Bethesda knew where to put this game: stress that it gives you freedom, pump the gorgeous graphics, and put Patrick Stewart’s name on the back of the box.
Bad, Arena is the only TES game that is worse.
Beyond comfy with a few patches and mods to fix the level scaling and faces.
Play it without expectations and you'll have fun.
its shit
It's literally a fantasy world to explore and enjoy. I'm in awe wandering around, talking to npcs, reading books, doing simple quests. I feel like i'm in a born again novel.
Must have mods for me would be something like: stuttering fix, darnified ui, hrtf audio, loot menu
something to change the loot and random encounters you find to make exploring worth your time
leveling system and enemy/item scaling needs to be modded as well to make it either static or toned down somehow
I've just started revisiting the game since release
I'm trying not to mod it too much my first playthrough so i'm letting a lot of it's flaws pass for now, just for the novelty of it.
Have sex
>leveling system and enemy/item scaling needs to be modded as well
Why is that and is there a specific one?
the adoring fan torture mod
If you're looking for fantasy you're better off reading a book or flipping through photos of New Zealand.
I would typically tell you to play a game vanilla first, but Oblivion has one huge glaring flaw, level scaling. It’s utterly atrocious in this game. If you’re looking to mod this game at all for your first play through, address that one issue.
what specifically is wrong with the leveling scaling?
Level scaling is the worst issue of this game not only because it makes your progression feel like it hasn’t progressed at all, but if you level up incorrectly it punishes you with enemies tougher than you can handle. At early levels enemies feel weak, but the consequence is that loot is leveled down. At late levels you feel like you’re strong, but bandits are wearing daedric armor.
I frankly don’t know of a specific mod for it at heart, but that is the one thing I would fix and don’t touch the rest of the game with mods.
it would be great without the demonic bullshit
every game sequence in hell/demon dimensions is fucking boring
the leveling system is not too bad
it's just a little bothersome if you look into the mechanics of it and it starts changing how you play too much
the level scaling on the other had is a problem
with level scaling, as you level up, the world and everyone and everything's loot will level with you
bandito's with end game weapons and armor are everywhere now; when they started with iron daggers etc at low levels
everything also becomes a lot harder so opposite of your expectations of leveling up and growing in power
the world is actually becoming stronger faster than you are
i haven't looked into the mod options myself yet but i've taken note of the problems i see
i just want to experience the shit show for myself
casualized compared to morrowind but still playable unlike skyrim
ahead of its time
There doesn't seem to be a top mod for it on the oblivion nexus. Seems weird if that is such a big problem.
should I?
>bought it on steam
>can't play it with a 360 controller
Into the trash it goes.
Absolutely. You've tricked them into thinking you're using real currency. Go for it.
I wouldn't be able to go back to playing Oblivion without mods.
Awful level scaling
Unrewarding exploration
Great everything else
are there quest markers and sprint mods for morrowind?
Fuck. That. Searching for such things should automatically uninstall it from your computer
Enhanced camera
Something that improves faces
Something that fixes level scaling
Imo a mod that tones down high level athletics and acrobatics so you cant moon jump across the map and cant run faster than sonic.
Dont get mods like that but get a mod that fixes the dice roll garbage
>Never played Oblivion. How is it?
It's alright, buggy and kinda silly but it was arguably the last Bethesda game that had any heart and soul put into
>3rd gen music
great taste
>Something that fixes level scaling
Which one though
You’re trying too hard neckbeard. Have sex.
>Imo a mod that tones down high level athletics and acrobatics so you cant moon jump across the map and cant run faster than sonic.
But that's the fun part
I played it a lot as a teenage.
Playing it now, 10 years later, it is awful. Very repetitive and limiting. There is only about 2-3 quests in each city, and sparse amounts of quests outside that.
By Azura!
>something to change the loot and random encounters you find to make exploring worth your time
any recomendations?
you fucking gook what is this money
I might be saying this as my 12 year old self in 2006 but fucking perfect!
That game world sucked me in for my whole spring break in 7th grade
Combat is a little off now? The world, people, and quests were just perfect IMO
Better than Skyrim.
Worse than Skyrim.
Steaming pile of shit.
Best game ever made.
>Best Music
It's comfy, but not the best
>Best DLC
Agree
>Best Guilds
Some Guilds. Mages guild was kinda lame imo
>Best Towns
Agree
>Best Voice Acting
not even close, but I can say that it's comfy as well.
>Best Elder Scrolls?
You bet!
Thats not even high level for either skill
High level athletics is chasing down miaq the liar and high level acrobatics is jumping from one end of the imperial marketplace to the other in one leap.
>>>Best Voice Acting
>not even close, but I can say that it's comfy as well.
It's OBJECTIVELY terrible, but god it's so much fun. I will never get tired of characters switching VA's between lines.
Fpbp
>only 2-3 quests per city
That’s Skyrim, you must’ve mixed them up
