>completely ruined Phoenix’s character by making him basically the most unlikable character in the game
>Trucy is just an even dumber more annoying airheaded version of Maya
>completely forgettable cases all around
>even Apollo just feels like a lame cringey version of Phoenix from the other games
Is Dual Destinies better?

This pretty much, although Spirit of Justice is a bit overrated imo mainly because most people were disappointed by Dual Destinies. I liked DD and I think SoJ is on the same tier.

>Trucy
>Dumber
She fucking carried the first half of Case 2 herself, dude.
Anyways, yeah AJ is weak, but DD seems to really split people. Some like it, some hate it. Personally I liked it and I liked Athena. Either way you'll probably like SoJ after that.
And play the Edgeworth games.

I like DD and think SoJ is a tier or two below.

She was enough for me to like the game

4 is the absolute bottom of the barrel, everything else is much better

its the shittiest in the series by far, at least the first investigations has edgeworth to carry it

This.
And Investigations 1 is worth it as a build-up for 2, which is the best game in the series.

I’ve got Investigations 1 on ds so I’ll at least try it out. I heard it’s not that great either but the 2nd one is excellent.

They get worse. Yamazaki is a fucking hack.
If you didn't like Trucy in this one, you will HATE the way she's handled in Yamazaki's games. You will absolutely loathe Kay Faraday as well.

Bump

I thought something was strange about Kay's sprite but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Then I realised that her eyes are about 5 times as big as everyone else's and now I can't un-notice it.

Go for it. First three cases are a bit meh, but the fourth and fifth are pretty great imo, if you stick with it till then.
Second game is great all the way through.

Investigations 2 is the worst in the series. Pretentious retards hail it like the second coming of Christ. The game is bloated with filler arguments, the writing is bland, and Kay Faraday is incredibly annoying.

*ahem*

MY
DICK

2nd investigations is the best in the series

there's too much interconnection in those games for my taste
i liked the simpler, self-contained cases more than these huge game-spanning shadowy-person-or-group-standing-behind-a-70-year-long-world-wide-revenge-conspiracy things
it's just too conveniently smart and interwoven to be enjoyable
earlier AA games didn't force me on the lookout of "which of these characters is the mastermind" from case 1 onwards, while the latter ones are written in such a way that you can't help but do it from the outset, AAI2 included
don't like it lads

Yamazaki wrote AJ too.

This is now an Ace Attorney thread.
Post tier lists.

Understandable, I can see why you wouldn't like it then. I'm all about that shit, I loved how every case in AAI2 was relevant to the overall plot.

i played the original trilogy and apollo justice a while back, but did so with a guide so i could basically read it like a manga, but i can't remember basically anything from the stories. think it's worth replaying them and moving on to the more recent games?

Might as well if you don't remember anything.
