I've played this game through at least 10 times, beat it all different ways, and basically mastered the metagame. Still, almost every day I've had a craving to play it. I have dreams about playing it still. The only reason I haven't reinstalled is because I'm ashamed already at how many times I've played it.
What made the game so fucking addicting that I'm still thinking about it years later?
I've played this game through at least 10 times, beat it all different ways, and basically mastered the metagame. Still...
It's the only game where choices actually effect the ending slides.
>What made the game so fucking addicting that I'm still thinking about it years later?
You being a redditor.
"Why do I have bad taste?" is a question I cannot hope to answer.
I've played it once, finished and never played it again because i'm not a retarded autist with shit taste
I can not for the life of me picture having this much of a hard-on for a walking simulator with no actual gameplay.
Is that you Al Cheastbreach?
Obsidian is söy repellent.
>No actual gameplay
???
>EVERYTHING I DONT LIKE IS REDDIT LMAO
t. "fallout 4 is actually pretty fun guys!"
Take this (You).
I wouldn't call it well-earned, but you can have it nonetheless.
i just started playing again after taking a 4 year break. still fun desu
Talking to people and distributing skill points after levelling every hour or so isn't gameplay.
good for you user
you found love
we don't need to understand it
this is bait
give me the energy weapons build
This is really low effort my friend. Try again in a few years once you've finished high school.
define gameplay
Literally a video game for niggers. Not even figuratively, I'm talking big-lipped, charcoal black, two-inch underbite coon-apes. NV players are the dumbest, blackest, cocoa buttered gorillas on this website.
>Yea Forums hates NV now
What the FUCK went wrong?
reddit likes it therefore Yea Forums can't like it anymore
Zoomers. Summer,.
What did he mean by this?
Did you learn to let go?
I didn’t
This, it doesn't really have any problem-solving.
Gameplay is the stuff that fills in the 90% of time in the game spent between reading dialog and other passive consumption of bespoken world-building elements put in by the devs. FNV's actual combat and exploration is negligible, so there really is no gameplay, just walking around and picking multiple choice answers from dialog trees like in a VN in lieu of actual player agency and interaction with the environment.
It used to confuse me why this game was such a meme here, then I remembered this is the board that hates video game.
>played this game at least 5 times now
>always drop it when I get near the pf the main questline
>never even tried any of the DLC
>mfw
Play a 1 Intelligence Melee character on JSawyer mod.
It's strange, because at the start of 2010's those were Yea Forums's favorites and reddit was jerking off to HL2, whilst most anons here preferred HL1 to 2.
You're confusing New Vegas with Yakuza.
>pf
Meant 'end'. This heat is frying my brain.
>Negligible
You're not going to be shooting enemies all the time, but killing hundreds of enemies in a 50 hour span is not a negligible amount of combat
Because it is the best RPG ever made when coupled with mods that iron out its most annoying issues. The quest design is simply god tier.
>gameplay is simple, ergo it doesn't count as gameplay
>this means there is no gameplay other than talking to people
Don't you at least think your posts out before you type them?
I really wish it wasn't a busted up piece of shit that struggles to keep itself intact, every time I think about playing I get overwhelmed with the amount of issues the game has, latest one is radio songs and ambient music just going ape shit after about a minute of playing
>Because it is the best RPG ever made
It's not even the best Fallout.
>games are acknowledged as good
>Yea Forums has them in its top list
>later, reddit has them in its top list
>games are now viewed as bad
I fucking hate you guys, Jesus Christ
With mods, it is. That's because it has more and better quests than Fallout and Fallout 2. The mods also make combat fun, whereas FO1 and 2's combat drags on and simply isn't enjoyable.
Zoom zoom
The best part of pretend boomers is how they resort to "zoom zoom" whenever they don't like someone's opinion.
But sure, Fallout's deaths animations are all the gameplay I need. Who gives a shit about quests, right fellow boomers?
>Who gives a shit about quests
Me, which is why I prefer the games not designed around quest markers and big [STAT] boxes in dialog.
The quests are garbage too, nearly every single one is completed the good way, the evil way or the optimal [speech check] way and almost nothing you do matters until the 5 second slideshow at the credits. You can wipe out both major faction's main base and their leaders and the game will continue as if nothing happened for fucks sake.
You can mod stats boxes out of New Vegas. And you can very much ignore quest markers.
>The quests are garbage too, nearly every single one is completed the good way, the evil way or the optimal [speech check] way
Just like Fallout.
>and almost nothing you do matters until the 5 second slideshow at the credits
Just like Fallout too, except what you do in New Vegas has consequences in other areas of the game. What happens if I murder everyone in Junktown? Nothing.
Too bad the choice only mostly affect the slides. Once you're done with a quest there's no real change to the rest of the world for the most part.
Thank you OP. This game was something I looked forward to almost every day after school as a kid. At a more introverted time in my life, it was an escape from family gatherings at my house. I'm still playing, thousands of hours later. If you play on PC, give Tale of Two Wastelands a try!
>except what you do in New Vegas has consequences in other areas of the game
What utter bullshit, every area and faction in New Vegas is pretty much isolated from everything else, nothing you do has any consequence anywhere else.
Got the GOTY edition a few days ago for ~$3. Grab it anons.
Why is it so difficult to say that Fallout 1/2 and NV are all good?
The quest where you can let someone enter Van Graffs and fucking detonate it is 10/10
because that would result in no shitflinging
I'll go one further and even say that FO3 is a good game, not as good, but still.
The writing and RPG elements are great and can be made even better with tweaks and mods.
Based
1 > NV > 2
