WW didn't fall for the open air meme and was optimized with the Gamecube. The ocean is basically one big loading screen. BotW was way too ambitious for its own good, they just wanted to hop on the modern AAA open world trend without considering the hardware.

Also WW is more committed to its cartoony aesthetic, whereas BotW is inconsistent.

All switch games, to compensate the hardware, have this weird... white filter, over all games. It really shows in games like Smash, when compared to the Wii U smash game. I even prefer ultimate, gameplay wise, but graphically, there is this odd filter which saturates everything. It is also in botw as you can see. Odd that the company pushing for the most colourful games, is somehow going backwards on it because of hardware

Playing xenoblade right now, the gams runs at 25 fps most of the time and at a downgraded resolution of what seems to me like 360p to 576p. Thia should be illegal to make a game with this much potential a switch exclusive. Fuck nintendo and fuck the switch.

You realise Pokémon has been getting free passes pretty much since its inception, right? It's historically been defended far, far more rabidly than Zelda ever has.
The reason people are complaining now is because literally everything about Sword & Shield is shaping up to be total shit, from the Pokémon designs, to the music and the gameplay, they're even outright cutting Pokémon from the games now, and Game Freak had the nerve to try and excuse that last point by saying that graphics and animations would be improved to compensate (lo and behold, though, they're also shit). The games have absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever, unlike other games on the Switch which can at least say they have good soundtracks or entertaining gameplay if nothing else. There is nothing going for Pokémon.

The only thing that was found to change on models were the textures and maybe some incredibly minor vertex edits (Gyrados' teeth are slightly wider... wow). Otherwise, returning Pokémon so far are just reusing 3DS or LGPE meshes. Plus, even if they were telling the truth on having issues with porting assets over, it'd be incredibly pathetic that a second party developer somehow can't easily transition assets from 3DS to Switch when they could for LGPE, and when fans/Chinese bootleggers can do so seamlessly for platforms and engines that weren't intended for those assets.

I certain games only in docked mode (XBC2/Torna, BOTW, Tales of Vesperia) while I play other games like Sonic Mania, Octopath, etc in portable mode. I can't explain why someone would attempt to play XBC2 in portable mode when there's been plenty of discussion about how poorly it looks compared to docked mode.

There are several times more PS4 users than Switch users right now, and Sony charges for PSN+ which can cost up to $50 a year. It isn't really surprising, but also as someone else said, revenue is not profit.

There is no problem with the Switch's graphics, AS LONG AS the performance is unaffected. Having said that, BOTW and Xenoblade having sub-30 FPS is not excusable. even if it can't be done "because it's a handheld" you forget that it's also a console. It's supposed to be a hybrid machine, bringing the best of both worlds. i shouldn't have to sacrifice anything other than graphics.

I could excuse BOTW because of it, but Xenoblade gets no leniency.

The difference is that there is a LOT more going on in BOTW, even when the draw distance on some things is low.
The issue is that Pokemon SwSh's world has literally nothing of note going on, it's some truly empty shit with not even particularly varied topography.

It's not identical. It looks similar because the grass is already relatively bright but the entire picture has white over it. Even link himself is noticeably affected. And keep in mind that the second screenshot has the effect turned down to 30%, not completely disabled.
It's even more visible indoors. Normal fog should not be visible indoors. This was a deliberate design decision from nintendo to make the entire game look brighter and washed out.
