Too many success got to their head.

Also, letting businessmen dictate what you should make in video games.

white men

Becoming Activision's cumslut

Activision

i think they started taking themselves seriously
as a company after WotLK and everything they made afterwards was significantly worse

Just capitalism, every public traded company that doesn't fail - goes the same way.

Grow, broaden, reduce entry barriers, reduce complexity, grow grow grow. Implode.

Once this happened, then the corporate suits took over. Every Blizz game since then in the middle of it's success or development comes a suit that thinks it's a great idea to shove COMPETITIVE ESPORTS into it regardless of how stupid it is.

HotS
>literally THE MOST CASUAL and dumbed down game in the genre
>LETS MAKE IT AN ESPORTS
>okay games dead, now what lol

Hearthstone
>casual CG streamer bait RNG cardfest
>let's make a competitive scene

Overwatch
>TF2-like casualness FPS game with shitty meta/balance design
>let's give it a competitive scene

It's a mix of all of them being too casual and poor competitive games, or their balance, meta and designs are fucking garbage.

w*men

niggers

The people who make the games haven't been playing more than phone games since 2008.

It's like an author that reads only fanfiction and shitposts.

unironically women

California

When they merged with Activision.

>what went wrong?
they listened to the customers

They cared more about making money than making good games, eventually they had neither.

Soiboys, women and niggers

>author that reads only fanfiction and shitposts.
I am a professional author (I write for a living), and I read only furry porn and *chans.

Activision fucked up destiny, pretty much anything they touch. CTR was suppose to have micro transactions

The same process that always happens. First you have a small company with people that really love what they are doing and they want to create good games. Then they are successful and they start earning more money and the company grows. They get new CEO's who's job is to increase the amount of money they make instead of making the best games they can make. They do research on the market and they find ways to make something that can sell to the most people possible. They cut corners, reduce costs, reduce complexity, makes it politically correct, do everything safe, appeal to as many people as possible and over time they change their product, they change the people making the product, they change the goal of the company. It also happens to other types of companies, they start out good at first then they get filled with people that just wants to climb the ladder and make money and the company gets overrun by people like that and then the company falls.

Its happening to blizzard, its happening to Nintendo, its happening to Disney. This is why we don't get good shit anymore.

Wrong. It's always the customers fault. Real fans just don't realize that they don't represent the customers. The majority of players want features that the minority doesn't want.
Normies are always to blame.
And wanting to make more money (if you can and know how to) is obviously the right thing to do. Nobody can care about his project for a life-time. As a developer you want to work on new things. Just as everybody else writes new books, new series, new movies and not the same shit all their life.

when blizzard got contaminated and overrun by individuals that only care about expressing themselves politically, forcefeeding it down other peoples throats, have nothing but disdain for their customers and only see them as a "necessary evil".

Merged with Activision.

They made Tracer a lesbian.
