Honestly? Nothing. The game had a clear vision and it delivered. Do you really want three games of Marvel theme park tours? The grounded Civil War story was the perfect breather for the franchise, it seemed like a downgrade at the time but play it today and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Marvel would never allow a game as dark as MUA2 today.

I say this as a fan of the series, it's decent. It does some stuff better but other stuff worse. You don't get unique dialogue or hubs in 3 and everyone only has 4 powers.

It's fun, if a bit safe, besides the character choices I mean. I welcome the 49 dlc characters that will come out and hope for some story packs. Basically it goes XL2 < MUA < MUA3 < XL
