The internet died when people stopped using pseudonyms. It's crazy how using your real name online went from being something people laughed at and discouraged to a completely normal thing to do in the space of about three years.

Edgy but true. A server changes noticeably once a girl gamer starts talking. It's not always 'their fault', but just their presence alone is enough to change things, and if they toy with this power they can really ruin things.
There's a small amount of girl gamers in some nearly dead games I play, and thankfully they don't try to ruin things and everyone avoids orbitting. They just use the mic for callouts and idle chatter between rounds and that's it

I had a big presence on Newgrounds around the years of 03 - 07. I was friends with many of the big NG artists as well as all the admins, and the community as a whole. Spent all my time chatting with cool online people and gaming together, and letting WoW devour my life when it was good. It was my height of enjoying internet culture as well as gaming with friends. I'm in my 30s now and I don't talk to anyone online anymore and I generally just play games alone. I've become a super reclusive hermit (online) whereas I'm much more social in real life now, but back then it was the total opposite.

Bought this the other day for $115 (The computer which came with a monitor) but I realized it was the 15 inch and I wanted the 17 inch so I shot myself in the foot and spent $25 on an untested monitor that turned out to work and only has a small line of dead pixels in the bottom left corner. Every year the graphics would get better, the physics would get more realistic or more hilarious, the worlds would be more detailed, the lore and story would be deeper and more compelling, there would be more engaging characters, the gameplay would be more enjoyable, etc.
