DotA 2
Team Fortress 2
Counter Strike

Shit, pretty much any modern valve game.

What happened in this one? Looks like BF1942

It's the Desert Combat mod which was a Gulf War mod for 1942. Pretty much was the most popular mod for it back in the day, and the modders ended up working on Battlefield 2.

And then got fired soon after the game launched.

Shit, literally any valve series besides Half Life.

Iraq are the good guys

Counter-Strike was a Half-Life mod, dude.

DICE

Hunt down the Freeman

Sonic Mania quite literally and it turned out fucking great

every single game by valve

Dude who made Minerva now works at Valve. Shame Minerva 2 will never be a thing...

it was so good, but so was the base game

id used to hire modders and mappers wholesale.
The AM2R guy who went to work on the new Ori.
Valve is the king of just scouting the shit out of their modding community, though. I suppose why wouldn't you.

A majority of the time it works because it’s a passion project for the teams/ person working on it

Half of Bethesda, and boy does it show.

i haven't heard this since 2004.
i had forgotten these good times.

>Modern Valve
>these titles

...

A bunch of Arkane's level designers were Thief mappers before they got hired. The influence is really apparent when you play their stuff (even some of the worldbuilding like the names of Dishonored's months are taken from their expanded Thief lore).

The CoD MW2 Map Karachi was made by some guy who did CS1.6 maps before and he remade it for MW2:

Anyone can make an animation, is it an actual game though?

I got my first dev job from my maps

not only, they've hired a lot of modders and the guy who made the wiki

>Anyone can make an animation
You're not cool user. You don't have fine taste.

Its funny because Falskaar is boring poorly done dogshit.

DDRJake was a mistake

I heard that the guy behind „Afraid of Monsters”/„Cry of Fear” got hired by DICE just to models props like rubbish bins.

Wasn't the guy who made Thrones of Brittania a case of HIRE THIS MAN?

It's a game. Cadence of Hyrule.

>Anyone can make an animation
Art is harder than programming by a country mile, especially for 2D games.

Imagine going from making sweet ass mods to that.

Fuck this world.

Mod life was a half counter dude, strike

>Shit, literally any valve series besides Half Life.
>Half-Life was created with a modified Quake Engine
All of Valve's games are somehow mods or were just developers hired/projects taken over by Valve like Portal and Left 4 Dead.

The guy who made Path of Building for Path of Exile now works at GGG.
