Pretty much every shader for this game is hideous. It just doesn't fit the style at all.
Everything just gets dyed orange like it does in the top picture because the majority of light sources are a dim orange. It's worse than just playing on 'moody' lighting.
Unrelated to the lighting, but the stupid broken columns with the lanterns and the unprocessed logs look retarded. Shave the logs and if you think its too light use a darker log because having bark on your house is just pants on head tier retarded.
You may as well use brown concrete at that point.

How are those pillars gonna hold the roof up if they have lanterns in them retard

>bark on your house is just pants on head tier retarded
What level of autism do you need to even have this opinion.

they're load bearing lanterns

are you aware that we are talking about miecraft here?

Show me a house that left the whole log in unprocessed in a structural position.
Protip: you can't because noone does that.
This is basically no better than just building your house out of dirt. It's a brown block with a texture on it may as well be the same thing, since you aren't using the logs in a way anyone would ever actually use logs, just as a dirt wall is something pretty much noone would actually make either.

The iron is converted to steel when crafted with the torch. Making them immune to melting and thus structurally sound.

It adds to the whether resistance. Its called bark siding.

The fuck are you talking about being dyed orange. Theres atleast 2 different light color sources in OP's image and the unshaded version has only 1. Unmodded minecraft is bland and shitty just like skyrim.

Did they still keep the bark on the inside of those?

Attached: file.png (600x903, 1.4M)

On the inside of the house like the op's were, not the exterior.
Literally in all those pics the interior side will be shaved, and the main weather protection doesn't come from the bark, but from the stuffing between the logs which isn't really feasible to show in this game due to block sizes.

Which are the best shaders available for 1.14?
I want something that doesn't make the lighting ugly for anything that isn't the overworld

Its just texture you autist. At this point youre getting into aesthetics rather than it being a bad decision or not.

The sun provides white light during peak hours, but pretty much every other light source aside from perhaps the sea lantern provides a dull orange light that is just hideous.

Its just warm. Because all of the sources are warm.

Attached: coolwarm.jpg (750x357, 92K)

Yes I understand the problem. I am saying this realism is only a tedious aspect to work around in a game that only has a handful of possible lighting options and most of them are all exactly the same.
The default should be white light shaders instead of this warm cool everywhere which translates to mostly warm because of the limitations of item variety ingame.
Maybe with mods this would be acceptable, including things such as colored lights, but alone the shaders are just too much effort to create a 'normal' lighting to a space.

sildurs shaders.

Minecrap never had soul, it always was a pile of shit

there are a lot of problems with this room, bark on logs being used as beams is not one of them. Load bearing lanterns, retarded use of cobblestone, poor flooring, shitty stairwell that is both ugly and a pain to use. Cobble looks best as either a foundation or half-wall. Logs look great as beams. I do appreciate the half-slab ceiling.

minecrap has plenty soul. Its just better with mods and shaders. True vanilla fags are trash.

Can you find an example of a stair case that isnt a pain to use?

I wasnt gonna put a water elevator in middle of rustic home.

minecrap is zoomercore

You realize that real life is not minecraft, and that we do not build in fucking perfect squares
Normal real life houses aren't 1 "block" thick, they're layered, therefore there's no point in putting unprocessed wood on the inside, whereas what you see in minecraft pics are mostly one block thick houses where the inside and outside look the same

How do you tell where monsters can spawn?

>Load bearing lanterns
There's no such thing as "load bearing" blocks in Minecraft because they still have not implemented gravity for most blocks. It still plays like an alpha test.

ray tracing is a screen shot meme. But a good one.

No meme, raytracing on Minecraft looks great due to the simplistic geometry

Yea and it looks terrible like some kids youtube minecraft intro in early 2010's

Its still good for screenshots. Great even. But actually playing with it is retarded. Not to mention the slow denoise that leaves random specs of light and dark everywhere.

A straight staircase that is in line with the entrance and places on the second floor where it is safe to jump down. Also ladders.
Bubble elevators are great, you should use them in combination with drop shafts.

>game is chunky meter cubes and sub-meter objects
>wanting smooth lighting instead of chunky lighting

Base MC is so fucking drab. the colors are bland and depressing, the shading is flat.
I'd love shaders that make the game look like the promotional material for MC.

Till then, BSL standard is my go-to. Super configurable, has nice toony options, or just edge-highlighting to make things feel nice and crisp and defined.

MOJANG HIRE THIS MAN

Depends on your taste really, it looks ok imo

Absolutely soulless

that looks like a small house out of wood. I highly doubt its gonna need PILLARS, retard.

>small house suspends 8 cubic meters of cobblestone from the .5m thick wood floors but doesn't need pillars

The walls are entirely irrelevant. Pillars would only function support the ceiling and wooden beams on top.

Minecraft architecture is inspired by real life archtiecture in terms of design, so thats what we would go by.

hes right. load bearing lanterns or not, this house would stand.

What mod is the top one? I need that.

optifine with sildurs lite.

Sildurs high is also good but lite is easier on the eyes and gpu.

based

at least minecraft has consistent stylistic

imagine being this retarded

screen space reflections are gross

what shader

>realistic water clashing with the simple textures and blocky geometry
>everything is bathed in a giant ray of light
>mysterious column of shadow on top of the house

you just proved his point retard

>a screenshot at sunrise somehow proves the whole whole game is orange light

Do any of you guys just play the game?
