JONATHAN
If the game crashes while using a flash cart, you need to patch it with a fan patch.
I almost never used Jonathan aside from forced sequences and that one boss fight.
There's no Bloodstained thread so I'm just gonna ask here, does the backsteal attack on the bandit blade actually work?
Based
as far as systems/controls go, yeah
as far as level design goes, nah
It topped up through the first sister fight and fell right back off again.
Bro you posted cringe.
It definitely teleports and attacks, yes.
>forgetting the Dracula+Death tag team final boss
I didn't forget, I stopped my replay because it became just like any other mediocre late Igavania. Those first few sections are fantastic, the game balances what gear and abilities you're able to get /perfectly/ with enemy threat and placement (the latter of which actually has some thought put in it for a change). Then the bloat hits.
*blocks your path*
But does it ever actually steal? Does it increase drop rates?
Yeah the paintings around Brauner aren't much interesting, but it pays off in the end.
Don't forget the nest of evil
the ost is definitely more "magical" compared to the other vania games

I'm more fond of Order of Ecclesia, but PoR was still enjoyable.
I like the game a lot but the painting gimmick makes the world more segmented (though thankfully nowhere near as segmented as OoE), and the last third is blatantly rushed.
Easily has the best core gameplay of all the Igavanias and the final boss is kino.
So is this Forest of Doom or Charlotte's theme?

Don't forget to use the Talk menu during bosses and other events.
There's also a dialogue for beating the sandworms.
damn, I never used it once
they should've made it a shortcut button on the touch screen
It normally only gives gameplay tips, but there are specific dialogues during boss fights and some other events or special rooms. This game is soul af.
>there's a "cutscene" for using the taunt animations in Vincent's room
the portion between fighting death and richter says otherwise. recycling themes from previous areas FOUR TIMES was just fucking lazy. even SotN's inverted castle was better than that.
SHARLET
>recycling themes from previous areas FOUR TIMES was just fucking lazy
They are new maps at least.
Did they add the japanese versions to the anniversary collection?
Based. This is how you make linear maps correctly in Kinovania. It all went downhill from here.
Metroidvanias topped at Symphony of the Night.
Yes.
Neat, I'll probably get it then. Are there any bugs/glitches, or is it up to standard with normal emulation?
>second half is just a rehash of the first half
It's my least favorite IGAvania desu for this reason
Again, they are new maps even if they have the same theme.
I think its the best Castevania game and that's even with the obvious cut content with 4 paintings in one room. It does everything right and I don't understand why people have such a hard on for OoE when its basically worse in every way.
Who's that bitch?
>I don't understand why people have such a hard on for OoE when its basically worse in every way.
Becaus muh visuals, muh music composers, muh Albus, muh bosses and muh low sales. Even though Albus was a great thing in OoE.
Tl;dr; muh underrated game
A cumslut that takes the dicks Johnathan protects Charlotte from.
Forced meme.
>good enemy placement
I know you aren't talking about this far but it's honestly one of the worst things about PoR imo.
