Welp, guess I gotta play .Hack now

She wanted to fuck Elk but only had internet.

I should really need to play that trilogy release, huh?

at some point but dont feel obligated

I hardly remember finishing the first one, and never touched the other two. My sister loved the shit out of them, though.

fuck it
how are the games, anime only here

IMOQ is love-or-hate tier GU is final fantasy

She was in competition with Blackrose.

IMOQ is a comfy and atmospheric experience, it really feels like you're playing a fake MMO.

What the heck was fur problem?

When the fuck are they going to rerelease the original quadrilogy? I fucking bought the first three as they came out and then skipped the last one for a while cause I got burnt out on JRPGs and then with my amazing luck it became super rare really quick and expensive.

Never.

Is her name Lauren?

Well she was using an illegal character model first of all.

Kind of makes me want to rewatch it, I have the GU games, but I'm not really getting into it as much as I thought I would.

Probably never; they tried remastering the three GU games to test the waters and see if people would still be interested in the IP in the wake of SAO's success, but it sold poorly.

As much as I love .hack, it's about as much of a product of its time as you can get.

Rewatched it recently, it's comfy but it's nothing but dialogues about how they don't know what's going on and what can be done about it. Has its charm but really not the most exciting thing ever but it was fine for me. The music really makes the whole thing better.

>sold poorly
Probably because they launched it at like 50-60 bucks, and it's still 50 bucks. Despite that it's sold between 100-200k on steam, I'd say that's pretty good for a niche as fuck anime rpg that is too complex for SAO kiddies to get into.

>the Dothackers forums somehow are still up and are somewhat alive

I wonder what they talk about?

It's actually quite fun reading these things and also remembering when the games released how amazing this tech is, then you realize that our current VR headsets surpass them in actual display technology, but the immersion hasn't.

I love the Japanese visions of the not-too distant future you'd always get in early '00s anime and games.

Here's one that hits a little to close to home.

>somewhat alive
Place is a fucking ghost town. I'm guessing what little of them were left fucked off to the discord and now discuss anything and everything except dothack over there.

God I want to go back. I remember just leaving the desktop open and playing music on it while talking with a friend and then staying up to catch Sign and chat about it.

It was like that for a lot of games of that time period. It'll never come back, similar to how we'll never reach that same aesthetic anymore. The styling has gone past it sadly.

What does this face convey?

I.M.O.Q. has great atmosphere but everything else sucks hard.
R.R.R. has even less area types than Imoq (which is saying a lot since they already weren't that much) but is overwhelmingly better in every other aspect.

Also, if you're planning to play R.R.R., please go for the original trilogy, not the remaster, I heard they dumbed it down a lot

I hope never. I'm fucking sick of remakes, they're a plague that's sucking time and resources out of new games.
Let them make another .hack instead

did they? the collection on steam feels about the same as before, though i admit it felt even easier the next time around. i chalked that up to being older.
