he runs like he got a shit in his pants
...to THIS?
did they use a lard as an animation model?
>moving like a 180 pound man
RDR2's movement is more realistic and natural, not sure what your point is.
>realistic and natural
Which does not always make for good gameplay.
if you sit on a horse all day every day you probably run weird too
Marston was depressed at the end of RDR2. By the time of RDR, he's invigorated by the desire to save his family and clear his name. That's why he is more agile and faster at an older age.
Well it has quicker turning so I'd say that's also a gameplay improvement.
I want to play a videogame not a simulator.
Both look dumb
And yet Yea Forums shits on GTA V for being too "video gamey" and not realistic like 4.
they added color
>realistic
maybe for you you slow fat shit
It's not even his full speed run anyway.
this.
Looks like an improvement to me. You couldn't even do 180ยบ in rdr1. The movement was total garbage.
RDR1 is objectively better than 2. Better story, better missions, better multiplayer to name a few aspects
well, in 1 you still move faster anyway, so is more precision worth more input delay?
See:
It's called GTAV
GTAV Unironically had very little soul and pretty much singlehandedly ruined every rockstar game that came and will come after it
You can compare GTAV to GTAIV and you can see the true definition of Soul and No Soul
It's honestly kind of sad that one game can ruin an entire company's worth of games.
the real question is, how did they have such amazing ambient music in 1, but such boring ambient music in 2?
*retarded IV first zoomers shit on GTA V
to this
Does anyone even play RDR multiplayer anymore? It got fucked in 2013 and never fixed because GTAO was coming
dont really see the point you are making. 1 even lets you run in buildings, which 2 doesnt, and has far less input lag. The overall result is that moving around in 1 is far more rapid
what does character speed have to do with input delay?
That's not even true, you run faster in 2 since there's 3 movement speeds instead of 2.
Cope.
You can't actually like and defend GTA V right?
You're just shitposting and trying to be cool, right?
rdr1 also has a mash speed
also, the horses are so insanely faster in 1 that trying to say 2 is faster at all is pretty pointless
Because the ambient sound effects in red dead redemption 2 are honestly mind blowing if you have the audio set up for it.
Drop the nostalgia goggles. Rdr1 has way more input delay on movement than 2. 1 even has input delay on fucking turning while running.
>Rdr1 has way more input delay on movement than 2
This is the dumbest thing I have ever read on Yea Forums. I can't believe you can be this wrong
>objectively
I'd like to see you do better. Let's see your video game.
I literally played through rdr1 for the first time before playing through 2. Unlike you I have no bias towards it. I saw it as it was an overrated game which was obviously unfinished and had serious pacing problems
>video games are increasingly trying to be realistic, and that's a good thing
RDR2 is so insanely slow and annoying, that people dislike the chapter 4 camp just because WALKING UP TO YOUR ROOM is so unbelievably slow and shitty that it feels tedious. RDR1 does not have anywhere close to this kind of problem, where the simple act of walking up to a room feels like a long, effortful process. You cannot seriously try to argue that movement in 2 is better or faster than 1, you just sound totally ridiculous.
nothing you say makes you any less wrong. saying that 1 has more input delay than 2 is just straight up incorrect.
Unbelievable. Un-fucking-believable that people have anything positive to say about this game. Everyone should be mercilessly ripping it apart.
rdr2's animation is much better.
its just a shame about the input lag. pc version will fix it like in gta 5 though
this is pretty normal for momentum based movement. Because he's only walking, the character responds slower. If he was trying to sprint, the input delay would be lower too. Different actions have different input response in most rockstar games since GTA 4.
>it's a feature
It's actually a bait webm.
It's actually not
youtube.com
then why does LA Noire feel so much better? its also a slow game but it doesnt feel so sluggish
It is. His tv was set to tv mode which adds input latency. It's literally a hit piece video to get YouTube views.
...
LA Noire doesn't use the same animation system as in house rockstar games. It's out of cutscene animations were all hand made, which was one of the reasons it was such a clusterfuck of a project (they literally had 1 animator)
>massive get got archived with no (You)s
what the hell?
>GTAIV
It's shit and it's worse than V too.
and yet it was still better. sometimes i think rockstar tries too hard. LA Noire has better slow movement and it was made almost 10 years earlier.
also, "hold to do x" is one of the worst mechanics ever
4 was fucking garbage you god damn 360 kid. Eat a dick.
the /cinematic/ pause on literally every action you take made me drop this game so hard
LA Noire had awful robotic animations though. Especially when you transition into a cutscene and see the jarring contrast. Like something out of mafia 1. People complained about it a lot.
kys 98fag
Imagine thinking he's the contrarian for not hating GTA V
every aaa game nowadays is like this. i blame uncharted
I've yet to play RDR2 but RDR1's movement was awful, John controlled like a boat, its even in your webm as he can't turn around without U turning.
Dude, RDR2 is so sluggish that RDR1 feels fucking arcadey in comparison. I know you wont believe me, but it really is the case. RDR2 controls like you're a slug swimming in molasses
Rdr2 controls a lot smoother than 1. There's really no comparison. Unless you want to shitpost on Yea Forums for (you)s I guess.
since you are a manlet its hard to explain how a real alpha men moves, sure you dont even lift
Rockstar always sucked ass
>Rdr2 controls a lot smoother than 1.
...what? your post makes no sense to me at all. 2 has far more annoying, awkward controls. I suppose you could argue the higher precision is "smoother" but this is offset by the input delay, forced walking, sluggish interactions and elongated animations
not even him but I think it's hilarious how you've replied to anyone praising rdr2 in this thread with the exact same post. it's a telltale sign of a desperate shitposter. contain yourself, christ
From decent yet ridiculous to extremely satisfying and fluid, what a shame!
I seriously can't believe people argue that 2 has better controls than 1. I'm just going to list some of the ways I think 1 is more fun to control:
RDR1: you can run even in buildings pretty much anymore
RDR2: can't run in buildings or camp, are forced to a really slow walking speed
RDR1: can jump on the horse as its riding past and immediately ride fast away
RDR2: this is no longer possible, you simply cant do this, you can only get on the horse when its totally stopped
RDR1: horse speed is fast in towns as anywhere else, can speed really fast out of town
RDR2: this is not the case, horse speed is slower in towns, making riding out of towns much slower and getting around generally really slow and annoying
RDR1: interactions require one press of the button
RDR2: interactions require you to hold the button for almost every interaction, adding yet another layer of delay
RDR1: inventory is opened by a button press and has only 3 pages to go through
RDR2: have to awkward hold right on d pad to open the satchel and it has too many samey, annoying pages, making inventory management really dumb
RDR1: only really has a dumb animation for skinning, everything else is fine
RDR2: has long animations for basically any action, adding yet another layer of delay to the control
RDR1: more basic interaction prompts, you simply walk up to a merchant and press one button to open a buy/sell menu
RDR2: really dumb and needlessly convoluted interactions where buy/sell each have different buttons (?)
RDR1: john can move more briskly while aiming
RDR2: arthur only walks slowly while aiming
RDR1: horses are way, way faster and have more spaced out button pressing, only once every 4 gallops to maintain speed, a nice rhythm
RDR2: horses are way slower and have much more demanding button pressing for no reason, at least once per gallop to maintain speed, more like 2 per gallop/second to maintain top speed
??? Literally the only post in the thread that had those words. What the fuck are you talking about?
drones say the darndest things
