From what I've seen in streams and interviews, Soken seems to be an abslute bro and I want to drink a couple beers with him. God bless this man, I was worried Uematsu would leave a big hole but Soken is like "Rest in peace Uematsu-sama, I got you familia"

>write one melody
>half of the soundtrack is just remixes and different arrangements of that same motif
I mean it's not bad but it's gimmicky as fuck
>literally has done nothing but FF14 compositions
fuck no
>is so full of it he lets a game have shittier quality music so that people will have to buy the real stuff from him
I'd cheer if he died of a heart attack tomorrow.
>look em up
>resume is nothing but FF XIV
uhhh,.
that's literally what uematsu does though
Now, I don't think he's a god-king like some others, but that's just wrong. He did The Nameless Game, Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports Mix, for a start.
took too long for this true Yea Forums-core post. i'm ashamed at Yea Forums

so literally hundreds of songs?
You can shit on xiv all you want but the one thing it has going for it regardless of whether you like the game or not is its music. The same can be said for warcraft.
Can you niggers stop with the incessant chingchongmicrodick sucking for a second.
Do you even fucking realize how many tracks and how much variety FF14's soundtrack has?
i don't understand how 1 man can have so much talent and patience

what.. are you retarded?
nigger ff14 literally holds a world record for the amount of music it has
Uematsu peaked in the late 90s and he's been riding on that reputation for twenty years now.

And how many of those are remixes?

Yes, classical European music is the most influential music across the entire planet that all great post-classical composers ape off of. Your point?
they really need to work on that. It was less awful in shadowbringers but you could still catch it at times.
My man Stewart Copeland.
this made my day

Mitsuda, Yoko Kanno.
I always go back to chrono trigger and legend of mana and kirby music so whoever made those musics.

That's the thing. Soken likes to sneak in tidbits from old FF's and incorporate them a lot. So if you hear something and think it might be a reference, it most likely is.
Also here's in my opinion the best song in the game, because of how he did it.
youtube.com
He took this song which on its own is a banger and a half, and then fused it with music of a zone from another part of the game, and came up with this

>faeries
No, you get a chicken nugget, a chili pepper, and a green parrot.
Faeries is Scholar.
based and brueggemannpilled
Scholars also get Seraph from FF6 now
I forget, did Uematsu do all of Granblue's music? Because the Arcarum soundtrack in that game almost justifies it being a souless gacha rip-off.
>Scholar Faeries look hot as hell in the concept art for Scholar
>look lame in game
what game generation will we be waiting to see that game's concept art actually be lived up to
What? And next you'll tell me Iwata from Nintendo is dead? Lmao.
I don't know if I'd call him the best, but I did really like the Wolfenstein TNO soundtrack. If you haven't seen his GDC talk about the Doom soundtrack, you should, it's pretty interesting.

The raid tier is called Eden. its consistent references. Theres other remixed tracks too but I never played 8 so I can't actually point them out. if you look up ff8 references for xiv on youtube you will probably find some.
None of the FF's canonically link to XIV except for XV and maybe XIII but im not sure about XIII. Usually what they do is they will incorporate things from past FF's with their own twist on it. Except for Omega. Since XIV canonized the Omega you fight as the same one that dimension hops through all the other games. And that's why last expansions raid tier had him summoning digital equivalents of Chaos, ExDeath, and Kefka to test whether you were worth of fighting him.
The Crystal Tower plays a huge role in the story, as does the balance of light and dark that FF3 introduced. So they used some FF3 motifs.
From what video is that image of Uematsu?
This is the song I'm thinking of. Was it Narita?
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH HOW FAR AWAY
THE IDEAL WOOOOORRRLLLDDDD
Do you know if there is a source where you can look up who of the ffxiv composers composed which track?
Find the OST tracklists somewhere
Nigger, Lost Odyssey is his best OST next to FFVIII, and it's just over 10 years old. His work on FF14 was also great.
youtube.com
I think where otherwise noted, Soken is responsible. I think Uematsu still composes the "main themes" of each expansion (for example the Heavensward song) but he doesn't do much else.
VGMDB
Uematsu didnt do the main theme for Shadowbringers. It's the first time he hasnt done a main theme for the game.
unless otherwise noted*
Uematsu also did any music from 1.0.
That game had four composers, brainlet.
Yes, Narita did New World Order.
>Heavensward
is this the one in the CG trailer or is this Dragonsong or whatever
All the good tracks that remained in ARR were Uematsu's. Look up the FF14 OST on Spotify. All the memorable tracks are Uematsu's. Soken's very repetitive and generic in all his non-Primal themes.
what the fuck did Uematsu do then?
Dragonsong
youtu.be
Nope, only in FFVIII, where the Succession of Witches is the main motif and overall theme of the story itself. FFVIII's OST is largely considered one of the greatest OSTs in vidya history, and it's even been used in mainstream olympic sports.
youtube.com
Most of Lost Odyssey's soundtrack is mediocre. Not one town or dungeon with a memorable song. The only parts that stand out are the music for the memories and the last boss. What's good is pretty good, but it's a steep drop from FF7-8 which are consistently great throughout.
youtube.com
>FFVIII's OST is largely considered one of the greatest OSTs in vidya history,
kek the ff8 fag delusion
WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS TOO MUCH TO TAKE IN AT ONCE
Was Soken the person who composed the song in the trailer then? I'm pretty sure that one is just called "Heavensward".
Dragonsong sounds too similar to Answers but isn't as good.
That man is a legend. I really like Jeff van Dyke and his work with the total war series too.
Undeniable fact, faggot. Doesn't matter what you think of the game itself. The OST is universally agreed upon to be 10/10.
youtube.com
Im genuinely curious how you didnt know about this.
Keiichi Okabe
(You)
>so literally hundreds of songs?
FF9's OST has over 100 tracks and they're original compositions not just arrangements.
I mean, I'm not trying to bash Soken at all, but the reason Uematsu is so good is his ability to create a huge, thematically consistent, functionally-appropriate and flat-out enjoyable soundtrack for an RPG, more-or-less on-demand.
It's an apples/oranges comparison at best.
>main antagonist and final boss has around 25 lines of dialog throughout all possessed characters and direct interactions
>still has nearly 20 minutes of unique music throughout 4 different themes
>they're all great
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
in your mind maybe. literally never heard anyone praising ff8 ost in 20 years of browsing the internet.
i never played 14
Around half of IX’s OST consists of rearrangements; Melodies of Life is used fourteen times, for example:
>youtube.com
>youtube.com
Not awful songs on their own but how the hell is this supposed to evoke Alexander, the giant castle monster? It just doesn't match for me even a little.
You must be existing within a tiny echo chamber, then, because the OST is constantly praised as one of the GOATs.
It's a mechanical castle, so they went with an electronic sound for the normal boss music. Rise is sung from his summoners' point of view, the Goblins, so they did a gobbie raprock song because they thought it would be cool. The entire Alexander raid is a radicool musical journey.
>You go inside Alexander and then go inside Alexander's soul to fight Alexander where he summons Alexander
That's just a main theme or leitmotif and variations, not an arrangement.
This is an arrangement:
youtube.com
Except it’s not.
Just because you deny absolute fact and general consensus out of irrational hatred doesn't make it so. Feel free to peek outside of your bubble and absorb the truth.
It’s a main theme which is rearranged numerous times throughout the soundtrack. Almost every FF does this.
Because Alexander is a primal steampunk mech summoned by goblins in FFXIV. And the goblins are steampunk fucks. So half of the music is the goblins singing about metal and steampunk/time travel shit.
this
someone get this hothead outta here.
The original FF14 OST was way better than the ARR one. The only memorable tracks aside from the primals is all just rehashed Uematsu tracks.
youtube.com
I haven't heard FF8's praised either.
The only FF soundtracks I've heard get special praise are 6, 7, and 9. Mostly 6 and 9 with One-winged angel and Aeris theme from FF7 common mentions.
The fact is that every Uematsu soundtrack is good. That's why so many consider him such a good composer. You really can't listen to one or two Uematsu tracks to appreciate him, you have to play the games and see how well each track manages to simultaneously be appropriate for the scene, simple and singable but also rich with competent polyphony, harmonic, and rhythmic variety. And then the fact that he's churned out soundtracks for like a dozen games at least.
So yeah FF8 soundtrack is good. Anyone would be a fool to claim otherwise. But it's not some kind of universally praised masterpiece that stands out from the other games.
>But it's not some kind of universally praised masterpiece that stands out from the other games.
It's actually widely regarded as one of, if not the best Uematsu OST. Liberi Fatali alone is recognized as his best work. Dealing with newfags is frustrating. It's really just a google search away. Not that you'd need it, considering people always wank over it in OST threads on Yea Forums.
>Nobuo Uematsu
I can't
Although some of the people on Xenogears/other Square RPGs are pretty good
>Ctrl + F
>Zero results
Really guys?
it's okay when chinks do it
based
It seems like decent elevator music.
you're using the word incorrectly. Normally I wouldn't mind but it's relevant in this case since the comparison is against actual arrangements.
An arrangement means taking an entire song and translating it for different instruments. Every voice, every phrase, every tempo change, and so on. Yes you can sometimes change a things in an arrangement, but almost always this type of change is forced by the premise of the arrangement (eg an a capella arrangement of a huge orchestra might drop some instruments or even a passage). Very rarely, an arrangement will have a totally different tone and purpose (eg "unplugged/acoustic" versions of songs) , but again it will be a result of the new instrumentation rather than the reason for it.
Taking a single melodic theme and using it throughout a work for a variety of different purposes is not "arrangement."
Falcom composers are up there. The rearrangements from Ys 3 in Oath in Felghana are absolutely amazing.

>Liberi Fatali alone is recognized as his best work.
[citation needed]
That's the point dumbass EVERY fucking Uematsu soundtrack after FF6 is widely considered the greatest.
One-Winged Angel is Uematsu's take on Symphony of Psalms, one of the most famous and influential works in 20th century western canon.
Everyone's heard of Dancing Mad, it's a huge multi-movement piece.
Uematsu's known as claiming FF9 is his favorite.
My personal favorite is FF4.
Cope.
>That's the point dumbass
No it isn't, retarded. Within the FF community, FF8 is largely considered to have the best OST. Feel free to drop that question in the FF general on /vg/, or any FF community for that matter. All his work is good, but there is a general consensus.
ff6/ff7 are top tier
>One-Winged Angel is Uematsu's take on Purple Haze
FTFY
jesus christ what
i wonder what newfags think of the weird clown guy in their MMORPG
Empirically wrong.
I dont think you realize that a massive percentage of xiv players are FF fanboys who are playing it solely because of its FF references, user.
Everyone knows who kefka is. And if they dont, anyone in their party doing the fight with them could inform them.
I think Toby Macguire has like 3 songs that are longer than 2 minutes, everything else is just short game loops
he has huge potential and could be a new ZUN
He's really good at end-game boss fight music
The modern Falcom composers aren't nearly as good as the ones from a decade ago, but they still produce good music.
youtube.com
Based on what, just over 1 thousand votes on some irrelevant website? Ok.
>but they still produce good music.
Strangely, they can't compose for shit when it comes to the Legend of Heroes. Out of like 50 tracks in each OST, you have one memorable one. Ys tends to be filled to the brim with memorable tunes. It's what the series is known for, but they should hold their other IPs to the same standard.

Same goes for Yuzo Koshiro. The latter Etrian Odyssey soundtracks are notably worse than the DS games. Now that you mention it, post-FF7 is about when Uematsu started declining too, when the games transitioned to Red Book audio.
MAXIMUM RETARD

Are you retarded? half of XIV's music is utter dog-shit or remixes of whatever title theme they're using. Soken NEVER makes completely new songs until way later patches and those are generally just for dungeons and double as trailer music.
The only good soundtracks in the game are the shadowbringers theme/boss theme.
The Coil Tightens
and Amaurots theme.
Are you implying being the head of a rock band means you're automatically good at composing? If so, you know nothing about rock music. Some "rock" musicians have entire careers just playing standard chords on a guitar. And don't even have any instruments beyond that.
suck cocks contrarian faggot
C'est un temps que les zoomers de vingt ans ne peuvent pas connaitre...
You're Not Alone is such a good track. I love when the music plays through random encounters.
Actual garbage opinion
>Sakaguchi comes back for a final Final Fantasy
>gets rid of Nomura's faggotry
>Uematsu makes his best OST
>casually make the best game in the series
what a send off. Too bad Ito went full retard with that random limit break shit
He's not a contrarian...
FFIX had incredible variety... Flamenco, electronica, opera, classical, medieval.
All of which were incredible stand-alone songs made for the PS1 and still hold up today.
I doubt FFXXIV's soundtrack will hold up the same way.
this user is actually right
only the boss themes are good
rest of the music is fucking trash. especially the recycled songs that play over and over during the cutscenes holy fuck. im so tired of the trash ascian song. or the "tense" song that plays all the fucking time something not completely dull happens.
>kajiura yuki
>the same three instruments and choral arrangements every song
Most overrated composer in anime/games.
>songs
The best music in FFXIV was the music from 1.0 and 2.0. The music got more lackluster as time went on. But we can't really pin down who wrote each song, since half a dozen different people did it. I'm willing to bet the later expansions didn't have the original composers though. Since they sound so different.
I guess we'll find out in two decades wont we?
the music has literally only improved in xiv. 1.0 was dogshit.
>im so tired of the trash ascian song
Funny, that one is Uematsu.
It's going to take a lot longer than that for FFXXIV.
>But we can't really pin down who wrote each song, since half a dozen different people did it
What? 1.0 is Uematsu except for a few later songs which were Mizuta and Soken. Soken has done everything since then except for a few Uematsu main themes.
When I was a kid I was scared of a lot of the monsters and was always underleveled so it was a nice clutch to have.
This drag queen used to scare the shit out of me.
yeah so? it's fucking shit. well, it's not shit by itself, but it's just misused or overused. the song is clearly meant for some introduction to a mysterious foe, or a mysterious scene, yet it's literally used every time they show up. Yes I know all about the fucking Ascians already I've seen them on screen about 500 times, stop with this fucking meme song. I've beaten their fucking ass about 10 times, they're not scary. Get something new, holy shit.
Sorry English is not my first language. There were dope tracks yo. Straight fire son.
I was ignoring the typo and instead choosing to actually respond to his nostalgia ridden argument that is blatantly wrong.
XIV has arguably more variety than most FF games when it comes to the ost and that user is nostalgiafagging hard by directly saying they hold up over time.
Not even close. I like Soken, he's a cool dude and all, and his music can be cool, catchy and fun. But what it pretty much never is, is emotionally compelling. And because of that I'm pretty tired of his music by now. He absolutely does not have the range of Uematsu, nor is he anywhere near Uematsu's talent. I guarantee you that any songs you heard in FF14 that made you sad or gave you the feels or filled you with wonder or whatever were borrowed from 1.0's OST. Soken couldn't make something like Answers or Twilight Over Thanalan if his life depended on it. And I'm not saying he has to be a replica of Uematsu, but Uematsu has both amazing talent and amazing range, and Soken doesn't. His work is so much more limited.
How does he with so much flab around his eyes? They’re so wrinkled they stick out like 3 inches.
the zone music is great. the dungeon themes are great. fuck you cockgobbler.
fuck the ascian theme for real though. in fact fuck most of the overused cutscene tracks. All/most of which are vestigial 1.0 uematsu schlock.
*see is what I meant
>1.0 was dogshi-
youtube.com
if you seriously believe this you're a completely uneducated buffoon. sugiyama is one step above uematsu and it's a shame he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. he is unironically the most talented neo classical composer of our time.
guy's like 95. he probably doesn't see much anymore.
MMOs have basically infinite budget to add new music. Comparing the variety of music in an ongoing MMO to a discrete retail packaged game is unfair, to say the least.
Jeremy Soule, Marty O'Donnel and Jesper Kyd. Weebs can go kill themselves now.
>I guarantee you that any songs you heard in FF14 that made you sad or gave you the feels or filled you with wonder or whatever were borrowed from 1.0's OST
Nope, I've played since 1.0 and know exactly which songs are from back then. 1.0's music is beautiful, but Soken has more than enough wonderful songs himself.
>Soken has done everything since then except for a few Uematsu main themes.
Soken, Nobuko Toda, Yoshitaka Suzuki, Naoshi Mizuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito and many others are credited in just 2.0. But having looked it up, Soken did seem to write 85-90% of the songs. Especially all the best ones like Serenity, Ultima and Prelude (the best rendition of the FF prelude by far).
Sure, thats a completely reasonable and fair statement. You know what isnt a reasonable or fair statement though? Denying that another game has variety when it not only does, but eclipses the game one is actively defending.
"Atmospheric" music gets old after a while. Most of those composers are great. But their music suffers from the games they're in.
all of his rock music sounds great and it's his old music made on real instruments
Takenobu Mitsuyoshi
Koji kondo
Yasunori mitsueda
But hey, Latin opera music is cool too I guess
>MMOs have basically infinite budget to add new music.
No, they really don't. They sometimes have more time, but hardly have more budget. In fact, many writers for MMOs have to write more songs for the same budget someone working a single player game gets.
Are you honestly going to tell me you genuienly enjoy any of the ARR overworld themes or it's shitty battle theme? even the storm/heavensward battle themes are remixes.
Get better taste

You have some pretty garbage taste if you think the "atmospheric" songs of Jeremy Soule or Marty get old.

And Jesper doesn't do atmospheric.
I think you have to give some of the credit to Koji Fox for some of his work, as much as I can give the guy flak for the meme names in the fates and the occasional sly joke snuck in (I'm talking about you, Explanation of Why Not Using -Ga, -Ra, -Ja in Naming Spells book in GGL Hard), but he's a surprisingly good lyricist as well.

Holy shit. His AC OSTs are nothing but atmosphere. He's literally set the bar for what most composers did for a decade.
Koji wrote the lyrics for Answers so yeah he's not bad.
Even now the Final fagtasy tards are scrambling through their 17 garbage games music libraries to find something even remotely close to these soulful pieces of Elder scrolls music. Lol...just lol on Final faggots.

i mean this is the first gameplay segment and you're mashing a button and listening to licensed pop music, pretty fucking retarded if you ask me. And the writing and voice acting and "ugh-ah-oooh" is terrible
what was the artistic merit of putting that "gahhh" in the middle of a 5-second black screen?
ACE
I really wonder what Square's gonna do with XVI because god knows the series reputation is in the gutter after XIII and XV, and I would wager most fans couldn't give less of a shit about an MMO. At least FF7R looks alright.
I'd really like them to do traditional fantasy, give us a modern FF9, but they probably won't. I woulda been okay with that supposed Eidos FF space opera game but I'm so sick of industrial scifi FF, we need a change.
>samefag keeps selectively choosing a couple songs out of OSTs that are well known for atmospheric music
And I didn't even say atmospheric music is bad. The music is literally the only good part of the Elder Scrolls games. But there's a reason you can go on youtuve and find 5 hour compilations of "atmospheric Elder Scrolls music." And guess what? The music is good! But in game, it becomes tiresome because of how the game utilizes it. Same with Zelda Breath of the Wild.
flagrantly wrong opinion alert
Then how does he write music?
Yoshida just saved the entire company with XIV and made one of the most beloved FFs ever. He's already got some secret project going on in his division now with Heavensward's writer, and has suspiciously mentioned multiple times lately that if he was in charge of another FF game he'd go full high fantasy and drop the futuristic machines.
Yoshida is in charge of final fantasy now, and he already mentioned he wants it to bbe a traditional final fantasy without mecha
Man Stormblood main theme fucking sucked
the remixes of the melody into stuff was great but yeah the actual theme sucked.
LOL THEY PAN INTO THE SERIES LOGO TO THE SOUND OF "STAND BY ME"
THIS IS THE LITERAL FUNERAL SONG OF THE SERIES
FFXVI will be the next MMO. It will come out right around the 10-11 year mark for FFXIV. And FFXIV was announced with a 10 year plan from the start.
They're using the FFVII Remake to gauge what the public wants from a single player game. But because Final Fantasy as a series is always about throwing everything out, they will do the opposite of what people like in FFVII:R. Just like they're currently changing all the things people didn't want changed from FFVII.
17 will be the mmo not 16. two FF's pass between mmo's user.
Yuzo Koshiro
>Yoshida just saved the entire company with XIV
No, he just saved Final Fantasy from having another failure. SquareEnix was always being kept alive by various other Enix, Edios and Taito properties. Not to mention their games are only like 20% of the profit of the whole company. The major profit comes from outside investments in anime, music, movie production and stocks.
>and made one of the most beloved FFs ever.
I think you have a false impression of how popular FFXIV is. Protip: While some 15 million people have tried the game, only 2 million or so actually gotten through 2.0, let alone the expansions. The vast majority of people didn't even like it enough to play it all.

They'll release the next MMO when it's needed. [x] amount of games isn't the standard. Because if things had gone according to plan, FFXV wouldn't have taken 9 years and we'd already have FFXVI out by now.
Square-Enix doesn't need to produce any more new FF games. It takes them 5+ years per title, they can remake and/or rerelease their back catalog of reputed classics for new generations of 13-18 year olds indefinitely. The Disney model.
music isn't written by sitting in front of a sheet paper and just drawing notes, brainlet.
and i never said he's blind.
>Cuckbox
that'd be incredibly stupid to make a new MMO when FFXIV is taking off with soaring reviews with Shadowbringers. Plus I'm pretty sure YoshiP said they had no plans of stopping with FFXIV anytime soon.
I've heard this song before, it's called "Final Fantasy Versus XIII". Acclaimed producer is given a project that sounds like something the fans would adore, he then gets screwed around for a decade because the company is run by incompetent retards until finally they decide to cancel the project and repurpose it into a piece of shit.
My trust in Squenix is totally gone at this point. They haven't been able to put out a decent FF game since the fucking PS2 and they've horribly mismanaged all their western studios.
>Heavensward's writer
it's gonna be total shit then?
No thanks. Outside of a few standout ones most of his repetitive shit actually brings the series down.
>ctrl+f
>no Jeroen Tel
>300+ posts
>go back to fantasy
>unironically bring back ATB combat (not the FF12 abortion, I mean the 4-9 comfy ATB combat)
that's it. that's all it takes to get me interested
FF7 is the only one that really holds that kind of cachet with people where they could get away with that. MAYBE FFX, but I'm convinced that people would just realize FFX was never good to begin with if Square tried to remake it. They can't just remake FF7 over and over, so they will have to make a new entry eventually if they want the series to make them money.
Except they have a set plan for the storyline of XIV and its only going to last two more expansions, which would coincide with about 5 years from now. and a FFXVII release
Literally who?
X is the best FF.
hi tranny
I'd love Fantasy, but really ATB doesn't matter to me in the slightest. Every FF has a different combat system, and I'm fine with them continuing to reinvent the series going forward.
The best combat system the series ever produced was FFT. FFT2 is what would really get me excited, and instead Square gives me fucking this.
youtube.com
The most infuriating thing here is that I could see this game being excellent, the visuals look fine and the gameplay doesn't look half-assed, but simply by the nature of it being a phone game they've committed to a control scheme and monetization strategy that I absolutely cannot stand.
>every FF has a different combat system
this isn't true at all though. 4-9 had basically the exact same combat system. the only difference was character advancement systems and number of party members, which aren't really related to the combat system itself.
You guys are just proving my point. Because FFVII:R is going to take forever and they haven't even started the next main game, we're at least 5-8 years before the next main FF game. The next MMO will likely start and come out before the next main game.
T > 9 > 5 > 6 > 7 > 12 > 4 > 3 > 1 > 2 > 10 > 13
I honestly found 10 unbearable. Awful characters in an awful story with a totally uninteresting setting, but the worst thing about it is how linear it is. Linearity isn't a bad thing in some games, but I need SOME exploration in my RPGs, not just endless fucking hallways. Only redeeming qualitIes are the music and the visuals. It's the same thing as FF13.
that's precisely what a gimmick is
why do you think they do it?
>Every FF has a different combat system
Only if you count extremely slight variations on turn-based as "different."
You didn't listen to FFV's soundtrack then.
>they haven't even started the next main game
that's false.
Let me rephrase that - while there's no concrete proof (ie. Squeenix statement) that FFXVI is in development, the director of FFXIV is directing another unnanounced project within the company, rumored to be XVI.
God I fucking hate Yea Forums teenagers and NEETs like you fucking MMO losers. Soken is mediocre. He has high output of basic shit.
You think he's good because you pay $15 a month and have to justify it. It's fucking pathetic.
Trannies love Sugiyama.
Various people doing pre production isn't starting a game. FFXV should have taught you that.
I'm sensing a whole lot of seething from a poorfag BR
Masayoshi Soken is up there with him
Once Uematsu is gone, I think Soken could be an equally worthy successor
>10 after 12
hmmmmm
I make 90k a year. FF14 is a shitty waste of time for people who don't have anything better to do.
>he listens to resetera unironically
That has been debunked many times. The original games don't have orchestrated music because the fans prefer the synth stuff. There's been multiple DQ games with orchestrated music released from the start. And the Japanese fans complained. Most notably Dragon Quest X.
12 has a lot of problems but it's interesting and weird enough to keep me engaged. 10 bores me to tears, I'd even take 10-2 over 10.
Do they? Ever since they made up that story about sugiyama denying war crimes and anti lgbt comments I've seen nothing but hatred for him on Yea Forums
MMOs are an inherently shit genre.
vidya music composers are extremely under appreciated
>He can't recognize more than three instruments.

Composers in any field are under appreciated. Music is often the most overlooked part of any media that uses it, despite being the most vital to tone and setting.
wrong.
Yeah that is the only exception, and it's still the worst theme of the dlc. Ludwig, orphan and Laurence shit on it.
What Halo track comes to mind when looking at this pic?
>generic vampire cathedral track
Not him but even if she did make the best songs from bloodborne, the soundtrack isn't even that good so shes not a good composer.

there are some great japanese composers but this fucking man right here is on another level. ok, final fantasy has great music. maybe zelda too. they can't compare to anything this man has done. i've never heard more beautiful music, and i've never been brought to tears from music besides Marty. this fucking man RIGHT HERE.
