I made him an axe guy, whatever the promoted fighter class is. Gave him a killing axe, a hand axe, and some other stuff I can't remember and he was one of my best attack units. Played on hard.

Both are B in reason. Lysithea had 4 spell really early (Miasma, Swarm, Luna and Spikes) while Lorenz had only fire then sagitarius. Lorenz learned a high level fire spell recently but he's still at 3 vs 7 (if i count Nos and Heal)

Annette got fisted to death in the first timeskip chapter because I'd benched her from the very start and you're forced to deploy her on that map. I reset though, I don't let anyone die even if they're total benchwarmers.

C rank support, 15 Mag and C rank Reason will be enough to get her. The stats are the easy part, just level Byleth and you will get them, maybe use some Mag boosting items.
The hard part is getting C reason. Just use Seminars/Faculty Training to grind it up.

Picking up weapon skill teaching bonuses seemed like the best investment, especially for types that I'm trying to force on a character that isn't "supposed" to learn them. Now that I know stat caps are so retardedly high in this game I'm not sure there's much point in beelining for the end of any of them though.
