Felt good. Also, like said, they won't delete the hats without giving something large in return. If the hats were earned for 100% free, they could safely delete them. But since they were obtained through the system entirely fairly ("insert money to get a random item, guaranteed"), they can't just confiscate them outright. They'd need to hand out something in return, and since that would likely mean making a fancy new hat to appease the stockpilers who dropped 50$ or more, it seems all the more likely the unusuals will just continue to exist.
