I know we have the Norms as mimes in the racing games, but a mainline platformer game mime enemy could be an interesting obstacle for Crash to have to maneuver around invisible walls and hazards to get a hit in—I’m picturing 3 monkeys based off of the see/hear/speak no evil motif, where they take turns having one set up an invisible anvil or cannon, and the other two erect walls from 2 out of 3 access points. Since there wouldn’t be much spectacle behind invisible attacks, the environment would have to make up for it by having a lot of set pieces change in response to each attack, which would also be important to clue the player in that there is, in fact, a threat there.
I’d also love an angry rapping scientist of sound-based weaponry named N. Emin, but I don’t think the pun is good enough to warrant the rhythm-based dodging fight between stadium speakers that I’m picturing with it.
I think there should be a nod towards all the N scientists who don’t make the cut, something along the lines of a brief glimpse of a hall of portraits or a yearbook or family album, so we can see subtle references to N. Fant and N. Cell without actually “including” them in a “child-friendly” game.

Accel is the best for overall consistency online, yes. They recover the fastest from damage and have the most straighline speed next to... speed, and serviceable handling as well.
