land of the fr-

>cocks

Stop living in a third world country.

I guess you could say your ISP sucks cox

>tfw pirate all of the time but never got so much as a notice from comcast
>tfw I know people that also have comcast but they get notices all of the time
Guess it depends on the area more than the ISP, but I'm pretty lucky.

>I hope our customer service was helpful please fill out our survey on how much you love cox

Should have used a private tracker.

Imagine being American

Attached: 001.png (393x393, 169K)

Is America the only country that punishes for piracy?

>tfw my country don't give a shit long as you aren't the one uploading shit.

Attached: 1544107119990.png (282x300, 76K)

bad boi, Andrew Wilson needs to buy his 5th vacation home and your depriving him of that right damnit !

It probably depends more on where you're getting stuff from. If you're stealing dlsite rips via mega no-one will know or care but if you're getting your marvel movies straight from the disney honeypot you're fucked.

cox more like cocks amirite fellas

lmao thats what you get for saving the jews you dumb circumsized amerimutt

no but europeans will find any reason they can to shit on america

>getting fucked in the ass by cox

I think it's burgers, bongs and maybe the fags down under.

>americans live in third world shithole
>can’t be refugees because they’re white
I’d rather take them over more niggers

How can they access your browser? Do you need to run some kind of client? What the fuck?

Depends on what you're torrenting
Anime? Who gives. The latest marvel movie? STOP RIGHT THERE

Did anyone ever get suspended because of this? They're probably just trying to scare you.

They wont actually terminate your service. Depending on your country and local laws the third parties don't even actually have the authority to enforce the copyright, they just send notices. It's purely for intimidation. Alternatively call your provider and complain that they are sharing your activity with third parties. You pay them for the account, nobody pays them to uphold copyrights. Which do you think they'd rather have?

This is why I only pirate Japanese shit.

Get a VPN. My ISP is notorious for sending notices. I pirate all my shit behind the VPN and have never gotten caught once.

lmafao you americans are so cucked
>be canadian
>torrent literal TBs worth of content
>ISP sent me an email stating they have to forward copyright claims from their original holders
>also add that it's illegal by law for the ISP to provide any kind of information to the holders, and that these kind of claims are disregarded
>tl;dr we don't give a fuck if you torrent, just be more subtle

feels good

In Sweden there are some people that send tons and tons of demand letters to random people (even if they have not even downloaded or done anything wrong) that tells you to send them like 200 bucks or something or they will take it to the court.
And this is fully legally to do.

>Be canadian
>Can't afford to eat
>A bag of milk is 10 dollars

no, but don't tell that to the redditors who have a mental complex with the US

Don't pirate Ubisoft games. They are usually tracked

>be canadian

Attached: file.png (1438x2479, 1.41M)

>A bag of milk
Which third world shit hole you come from?

>mfw Canada doesn't give a shit about piracy
>mfw Telus has sent me like 6 copyright strikes and they all read like this:
>H-hey, someone in your house might be a-accidentally pirating things... p-please stop...
America is the least free of the first world countries

Canada, apparently

canada

Just to scare you. They can't actually do anything. They can take to him to court but they aren't going to waste time and money to go to court for this tiny shit and then lose.

Bagged milk only exists in eastern Canada (where the subhuman newfies and frogs are)

>random bullshit
>literal who twitter
imagine being a mutt

no, it's a scare tactic
meanwhile article 13 exists

stop using P2P sharing, it's that easy

don't you have to get your feminine balls waxed tranadian?

I live in America, but I don't live in a shithole (California, New York, the south, the midwest) so I just ignore these copyright claim notifications and nothing happens.
I've probably got like 500 in my email from the past 6 or 7 years and I've never once had any trouble because of them.
But I live in a state that actually puts its citizens above corporations, so I'm not worried.

You have any idea what german buerocratic autism is capable of

Attached: bismarck.jpg (734x1000, 246K)

>the midwest
midwest is the fucking best shut the fuck up

Attached: 1564091050206.gif (250x250, 141K)

Cant u even pirate Japanese eroge vns in America without getting fucked?

Attached: 1535387416701.jpg (399x464, 52K)

>Third world country
>Caring about piracy

Are you american?

>not just getting a VPN

Attached: 1564182499979.png (265x268, 113K)

The midwest would be great if it wasn't a corporate asslicking hellhole full of soulless troglodytes and subhumans.
As it stands, it fucking sucks.

Shouldn't you be preparing for tomorrow's mandatory church visit?

That's the south, not the midwest.
Right now he should be preparing for tomorrow's mandatory work-sponsored seminar about how unions are the devil, presented by Coca-Cola.

>He doesn't know

I was referring to burgerland.

Checked this person's twitter, it's obvious satire.

Talking about how NordVPN was accused of selling their users extra bandwidth?

You have to do this shit in plain view (ie your gay free VPN) for literal weeks before any of these copyright threats, which are relayed from copyright holders, are actionable. Even big bad moneygrubbing ISPs like cumcast truly do not care that much about you pirating, they're too busy fucking you in their own ways and just have to cover their asses so the copyright jews don't go after them for facilitating. For analogy you are the naive sorority girl whose had too many drinks (files) and the copyright holders are the big jock about to rape you. Do you necessarily deserve it, no, but you could have taken steps to prevent yourself from getting into the situation.

There is nothing wrong with bagged milk.

Depends on the torrent, normies that torrent big movies and shit that came out recently will get fucked by notices if they didn't use a VPN. Pirating anime or more niche games won't get you notices. I have seen people get notices for torrenting really weird porn though, I've gotten a notice on my ISP a while back that someone on my network torrented Transsexual Babysitters 27. It couldn't have been me since i'm not into babysitters so it was probably my dad or some shit.

should not download all the loli/shota backups from panda like madman you faggot

Attached: 09.jpg (521x591, 105K)

Japan does it more harshly than burgerland

You're right, I totally missed my feminine ball-waxing appointment that I made with your mom

doesn't negate the event happened

I got a copyright strike for torrenting Legend of Korra just a couple months ago for whatever fuckin reason

I'm actually pretty curious how the piracy/torrent scene in Japan is.
I'd like to think it'd be pretty big but then again people still buy physical CDs for everything so I wonder.

Japan has bizarrely severe laws, the drug laws make the 1980's US look like the Netherlands. You get like 5 years over there for a bag of weed.

that's just some gay boy scare tactics. ignore them.

I got one of those for the first time ever a few days ago. I haven't pirated anything in months so I have no idea why I got it.

>having dad torrenting Transsexual Babysitters 27

Attached: help.jpg (970x990, 99K)

Yeah, but the downside to all of that is that you live in Canada.

>Cox

Attached: JSL.png (587x512, 695K)

You can get weeks or months of jail time if you're found hosting and or distributing pirated material.

>lived in rural Oklahoma for 7 years, pirated shit constantly off public trackers with no VPN or anything
>never received any sort of notice
>moved to major city in Ohio a few years ago
>I received five letters from my ISP in the span of three months

Moving to the city was a mistake.

>Pirating shit for free
>except you are cucked by a shitty vpn which you have to pay for

copyright law sickens me because it enables corporate dominion over (and thus suppression of) legitimate progress in any given industry. it's especially retarded in the video games industry because multiple billions of dollars in revenue exist in the industry as a result of corporations copying mods for themselves (see: valve)

Attached: 1528689344106.gif (360x238, 1.43M)

good
pothead degenerates deserve to be punished

Use a VPN retard

It is hopeless to redpill the normalfags of Yea Forums with this. They are too lazy to put in the effort for something that will pay off many times over.

This isnt common among internet providers, only COX and Comcast

You either live in a third-world shithole or a country that has far harsher internet laws.

DNS. They could make it where a DNS lookup will always route to the warning page.

do you own your modem user?

U can download pirated content but not upload, just asked my Japanese gf about that because i never really thought about it before

Maybe someone got on your wi-fi. If you type your default gateways IP address into your browser you can log-in and look at every device connected to your wifi and block them

Probably a bot giving out those notices, usually they have a bot tracking the really popular torrents of sites and checking through the IP addresses of anyone that's torrenting it and sending out notices if it's a IP they recognize.

I imagine it's there still, but kept quiet. Like you don't brag about piracy or any shit, you just get your shit and leave while using a VPN since you'll probably be shamed and arrested quickly if you admit to it.
I wonder what's the drug market like in Japan. I'm pretty sure they mainly do shrooms and shit since that was legal for the longest time in Japan and I doubt that sub-culture would go away easily.

When you tell people this you inevitably get replies from idiots who don't understand why people use them. They honestly think you're doing it so you can be part of "MUH SEEKRET CLUB" and have some misplaced sense of superiority over people who use public trackers.

Canada is rad. Suck my dick.

Americans are unironically worse than niggers, they don't even have to poverty excuse to act like uncivilized apes.

By that logic, Somalia is the freest country in the world.

>pirate all the time
>never received a warning letter

Attached: 1554466472033.jpg (500x500, 42K)

this and its true for most law on the matter. However, most ISPs give you minimal ups

I used to, then bitgamer went down.
Then blackcatgames went down.
Then gazellegames went down.
So fuck it.

could either be someone else using your internet or just a DMCA that was delivered late.

OH SAY CAN YOU SEEEEEEEEE

All of America is an unredeemable shithole outside of New England, they should just declare independence or join Camada or some shit.

none of that sounds scene

I have Comcast and I've never gotten shit about torrenting a terabyte a month.

>bitgamer went down
>gazellegames went down

Nigger what? I still use both of them and have been for years.

Nah just a network professional so I follow this kinda stuff

When I had Cox the only time I got a letter over 10 years was pirating diablo 2 off pirate bay because I didn't want to dig the case out of my basement. This was in 2018.

Are you saying it isn't?

bitgamer shut down in 2013, it's probably back up by now but I haven't bothered seeking out an invite.

fuck off leaf

Yeeeeah the general populace would basically lynch her though.
BC, the leftmost province of Canada, is just bullshit

A crazy person existing is fine, people supporting them would be a problem, but since the support tweet was satire there's no issue.

Here in Japan if your ISP thinks you're torrenting (usually they can tell because you upload a lot that's only feasible with torrenting) you immediately get shut off. They don't fuck around with that. Never got shit for downloading though.

>i dont like babysitters
that's the only reason kek

New England is great outside of the accents and the potato-faced women.
But I'd take potato-faced New Englanders over whatever the fuck that is in New Jersey and New York.

Piracy needs to be completely legalized, especially since games aren't sold physical only.

Attached: 1552287201209.jpg (637x254, 44K)

Quebec is further left than BC is, it's just also more nationalist.

It seems these copyright watchdogs focus on people with shit taste.

Have been torrenting stuff for years and just recently got a warning from my ISP for torrenting a movie lmao guess I'll just stick to anime and video games

I can send you one, if you'd like.

Ahahahaha oh no no no imagine living in that hell hole. Nobody gives an ass here, even the fucking president fucking downloads mp3s off the internet

the future of the internet is looking pretty bad

so do you own the modem you're using or is it company provided?
>net+ pro 2 net+ pro bro

Well I only got 3 episodes in before I decided to stop watching so I dunno about that

You are thinking of American niggers

>pirate anime/vns for a full decade
>no copyright notices
>pirate gta iv: ballad of gay tony and mgsv once, stopping both torrents as soon as it hits 100.0% to avoid seeding
>instant copyright notices for both within a week of each other, had internet taken down to accept that I won't do it again by my ISP on the second notice
epic

>Turn on VPN
>Start torrent
>See thread I wanna post in
>Try to post
>This IP has been rangebanned blah blah blah
>Exit out of torrent
>Turn off VPN
>Make retarded post
>Start VPN
>Restart torrent
>See another thread I want to post in 30 seconds later...

Attached: Tired Homer.jpg (640x480, 210K)

probably more to do with what the up traffic looks like

A pass is only $20, just buy it so you don't have to turn it off for a year ya dumb. What are you, poor?

Not that guy but I would love an invitation to a private tracker now that I've got fiber and a good VPN. 300MB/s up and down, I'll seed all day long

sent ;)

>ISP calls to ask why I downloaded 2 terabytes in a month
>Tell them it's none of their business
>They never bother me again

Attached: 1556840655389.png (1673x2160, 1.23M)

They have to send that shit to be okay under the DMCA safe harbor provisions. It's rare as fuck to even get one of those notices, unless you pirate shit from a jew company that tracks popular torrents.

>I'm not gay! I only put the tip of my dick up his ass before I pulled out
You're in too deep. Go watch Steven Universe already.

I’ve lived in almost all of Ohio’s big cities, god I hate Ohio. Moving was the best thing I’ve ever done

you deserved it you faggot.
>not seeding

>and maybe the fags down under
Nah, been pirating shit for over 15 years. Not one single notice. Our government doesn't actually do much when it comes to online piracy.

They'll try to block some sites, but that's about it.

Maybe, that's the reason my last ISP gave me though. They were shitty anyway so no big deal

>stopping both torrents as soon as it hits 100.0% to avoid seeding
dude...

user, you can set it up so your browser doesn't have to go through the VPN. What the hell do you think this is, 1989?

There is no other kind of American

I use the one provided to me because I'm too cheap to bother buying a different one when this one works fine

I dont think thats how it works user-kun. having your client tweaked correctly is infinitely more important than speed.

>Tell them it's none of their business
>They never bother me again
This part got me good for some reason

Attached: 1559049017925.png (356x256, 146K)

That's the thing, ISPs only send them to you to scare you into knocking it off rather than completely block you. In all actuality, they're just upholding their end of the bargain to copyright holders to cover their ass, but they'd rather keep you as a customer than forcibly shut you out and lose business. It's all smoke and mirrors.

>t. got 30+ warnings and notices back when I was in high school for torrenting shit off of the most public sites

Attached: 1533145366234.jpg (1024x992, 84K)

>legitimate progress
charging for a download which Valve popularized in the video game industry is technological reversion, data has been set over the internet since the day it was created, hell thats how it works, charging for it on top of having to pay for your internet connection is technological reversion especially when you take into consideration torrents exist which distribute those 0s and 1s with no server needed and at no cost

sauce?

Okay realtalk here, how would they ever know there were legitimate criminal acts or content abuse without deep packet inspection?

They can't. Notify your lawyer immediately if you receive something like this.

I only seed on shit I know I won't get in trouble for.
That's why I'm still part of bakabt and animebytes.
What's wrong, you angry about your netflix original show public tracker torrent on 1337x.to having 98 seeders instead of 99?
Cry more basedboy

>Not just whitelisting specific websites and forcing all torrent traffic through the VPN anyways

This. ISPs are greedy as fuck too, you think they want to lose your money? They don't give a fuck about the rights holders, they only care about getting sued for not doing what the law tells them they have to.

Not him but explain. I have PIA

If there's one good thing about California, they don't enforce copyright worth a damn lel

Attached: 1522129599675.gif (353x353, 659K)

I visited Canada a month ago for family stuff and there are Chinese bugmen fucking everywhere. What is going on? Are you guys being colonized? I had no idea. Is nowhere safe?

so the one they provided.
tell me mr network professional, why would you allow something on your network that compromises its security?
>im not iptor superuser with x+TB of credit

Germany does that too. I downloaded something that was copyrighted by Warner and a lawyer firm send me a cease and desist letter and wanted 850€ or else they would take me to court. They work together with IPs so they know you shared something and they will take you to court. In this situation you basically have to take a lawyer because otherwise they will just sue and try to get the money that way. In the end all I had to pay was 70 bucks for the initial meeting with the lawyer, but for like 3 years they kept sending me more and more threatening letters, it gets pretty hardcore actually with shit like "if you dont pay up within the next week you might face jail time". The lawyer said, just ignore everything, they do that to around 30k other people. Lawyer said the only time where they actually got through with it was when his client literally said "yes I did share the files with other people on the internet" in court. The most insane thing is that 850€ is the maxium they can take for an album, it used to be every more, up to several thousand euro until they standardised it. I shared maybe 50kb because I am a leech fag, but my lawyer said it doesnt matter and trying the "I shared 0,5% of the album so I will pay 0,5% of the fee" doesnt work.

>I wonder what's the drug market like in Japan.
I heard meth ("Ice") is easy to get hold of and is apparently one of the widest-used drugs in Japan. I also heard they have some kinda stigma on weed and it's mostly viewed as a yakuza thing since they control it, but I'm way less sure on that one.

Japan is nuts. They'll literally throw you in prison for two years for downloading MP3s.

must feel like being Brazilian or Mexican at this point

Attached: 1563465712060.jpg (1024x768, 133K)

Because I'm still entry-level and have student loans to pay off, so I'm going to live like a poor person until the loans are paid off

Neither does most of New England.
With the added benefit of not being a shithole.

tell them to literally get fucked and catch them sniffing in your private network

whats a good free VPN to use?

The ISP doesn't inspect your packets. They don't give a fuck what you do.
Media companies just download torrents of their own content, record the IP addresses of everyone who sends them data, and then notify the ISPs who are compelled by law to bully you.

as someone who works for an ISP:

when you pirate, we can see everything on your account.

we don't actually want to do these notices and really don't care. we are obliged by law to do so.

we don't actively monitor what you do on the internet. we receive these notices from third-party investigation.

most of the time you'll get off with a warning or be forced to call in and do a "security" scan with our agents to ensure you have no viruses, malware, etc.

>USA
CUKCED

I max out my data cap every month from torrenting media and back up everything i pirate several times across Blu-rays, DVDs, M-disc blu-rays, M-disc DVDs, and Sony Optical Disc Archive cartridges and keep them in multiple locations
I only buy physical copies, I got into archiving once charging for digital started being pushed, when the book, entertainment, and digital distribution industries have their way I'll have more media than I could ever consume, I already have several hundred terabytes of media backed up, over a PB in total when you take into consideration that those several hundred TBs of media are backed up at least twice
I have never and will never pay for digital distribution and I try to get as many people as I can to not pay for digital
>upholding their end of the bargain to copyright holders
I'm pretty sure it is the law, not a bargain

Attached: 1535625111528.jpg (1080x1052, 263K)

It would be a chore to oversee and mitigate piracy wherever and whenever it happens
Anti-piracy efforts are undertaken by the corporations who are concerned with loss of profit
If the company is too small to do this, nothing is done
If there is little money to be lost, nothing is done
Essentially, what you should be concerned about are AAA media that are new or relevant, in the case of things getting re-releases
I've pirated a number of older anime, niche and popular Japanese music of the 70s and 80s, nothing is ever done
Someone in my family tried pirating Disney and got a bunch of letters
For reference, I have Verizon in one of the top 5 US cities and my family has Comcast in a regular old town
I also never get strikes even when I lived with them

>should not download all the loli/shota backups from panda like madman you faggot
You don't get a copyright strike for any of this, lol

so lets keep learning then entry level fag. What are you specializing in?

>New England
>progressive
>white
>economically viable
>non-degenerate
They really don't belong in the States, they should become a Canadian province or something.

Based Raptor man

BAKE
THE

YOU
BIGOT

I only get warning when I use popular torrents such as YIFY

stfu you glow in the dark packet sniffing nigger

yeah paying for digital licenses that can be revoked at any time and burgernet is also retarded, but my point is that situations like nintendo taking down fan projects (that sometimes design their games better than they can) shouldn't be allowed because it stifles growth in the industry. the innovation of the first person shooter genre was entirely organic. the original mod creator of ctf in quake didn't headhunt anyone who made an iteration of it unlike these modern slimy legal reps that watch for new and promising fan projects like the vultures they are

Attached: 1556503414289.png (1048x1104, 1.57M)

What's the lifespan of these things? Because those cheap ass discs I had fucking disintegrated after a decade.

>Germany
CDPR sent legals threats to Germans who pirated Witcher 2 to either pay 1000 euro or go to court, but the founders of CDPR made money from selling pirated games before they founded CDP yet I bet not a single one of those German pirates made even a single cent from pirating unlike the founders of CDPR
The only reason CDPR gave to pay for the game was to "support the developer" which has nothing to do with the legality of it, but the founders sure weren't supporting the developers when they were selling their pirated games.
They couldn't say to buy the physical copy so they can get something in return for their money either, since the vanilla """""physical copies""""" of Witcher 2 had Securom

tip harder

Nah, that'd just fuck over our economy even more.
Plus, New England isn't really all that progressive, it's really just parts of Massachusetts. We just vote left because fuck corporations and fuck their interests. And fuck anyone who does any form of shilling for them.
Leave that progressive social shit to dumbfuck states like California and Florida, even a lot of our progressives are implants from those states.

>or be forced to call in and do a "security" scan with our agents to ensure you have no viruses, malware, etc
What the fuck? I'm American and I have never heard of this. Can you refuse this? What does this scan include? Are they going to be plugging into my PC?

Just an additional note, textbooks will get you dmca as well. Cant have the goyim learning too much.

How the fuck do people download shit if they aren't torrenting? Is it streaming sites?

>tfw don't live in the single digit coastal cities with google fiber

what the FUCK bros this isn't fucking fair. Why did the internet monopolies win. Why can't they let good guy google just lay their shit down in my town. Goddamn I'm paying out the ass for like 10mb download when I could be paying LESS for fucking 100Mb from google god fucking dammit.

>private tracker
>give real IP to join
lel

such as?

that image is wrong, you are paying for a specific arrangement of ones and zeroes. otherwise you can just claim that every file is the same which is obviously not true.

>he doesnt live in a country where pirating is protected by the law
Feels like not to live in a corporate hellhole

>How the fuck do people download shit if they aren't torrenting? Is it streaming sites?

Attached: 1310720965833.jpg (350x277, 21K)

he is full of shit. they dont need to scan what they already know. use your fuckin head kid

it doesn't matter if they can be revoked or not, charging for it is a step back in technology which is the point i was making

>just Massachusetts
And Vermont, and Maine. New Hampshire is really the only libertarian outlier here.

direct downloads, retard

I get these from Xfinity all the time but they havent shut my shit down, at this point I'm just testing them to see if they will.

Why americans always invent retarded names and abbreviations for their laws?

>Kansas City
get dabbed on

>downloading western shit in the first place

you deserve it desu

is it a nice state?
t. euro that wants to fuck off to NE

Honest opinion, US needs to annex Canada in the future or we need to federate together
Northwest passage is opening up and may become a viable trade route with continued warming
There have already been a number of one-off ships that came through and disrespect their waters and Canada didn't do a thing despite their protest
If Canada can't secure this economic opportunity, then the US should take the reigns with the interest of keeping leverage on Atlantic-Pacific water crossings
I think we're culturally compatible, but precautions would need to be taken such that Canada didn't get fucked by a huge influx of degenerate burgers

you mean peer to peer sharing?
>tu retardo

How in the fuck do they even know you pirated shit? Isnt that violation of your privacy?

Vermont is Independent, and Maine is mixed to the point where it may as well be Independent.
The main liberal states are MA, CT, and RI, but we don't talk about RI.

Considering somalia has actual pirates lets be real bruh

literally doesn't matter. they're just obligated to send those notices, but they don't actually back them up, ever. I wipe my ass with copyright violation notices from the ISP.

All of New England is pretty nice, Maine especially is the best State in the country to live in. It's basically the United States, but without the inbreds hicks and without the crime.

If you absolutely must move to the States, that's where you need to go.

I used to use private trackers, but then everyone I use got shoah'd.
You willing to hook a brother up with an invite?

>we dont talk about R.I

I'm from R.I and I do not appreciate this, anyone got any opiates?

there is hope for you yet maggot

Babby cant into VPN

>download public torrent, say a Square Enix game
>one of the seeders is SE
>by the nature of how torrents work, they can see your IP address
>there is some sort of listing that says "IPs in this range belong to THIS company and IPs in that range belong to THAT company".
>they send their notice
>your ISP knows your IP address, so they contact you
Any questions?

The publishers sometimes monitor torrents, keep in mind that the downside of how p2p sharing works is that anyone connected can see your IP address. Then the publisher sends a complaint to the ISP associated with the IP address, and the ISP then in turn sends a notice to the end user.

It's all completely meaningless though.

>if you do illegal stuff in your house its nobodies business
It doesnt work that way. By pirating copyrighted shit you commited a crime against someone, even if its a crime that usually nobody gives a shit about. Like I said, if you dont react to the letter at all they will keep sending them and then one of the next letters youll get will be an invitation to your district court. The entire lawyer firm is specialised for that, they literally do nothing else than to send out cease and desist letters and work their way from there.

Yikes

>dingus can't use a VPN

user, your sister isn't dealing anymore?

they don't, the copyright holders hire someone to trawl torrent sites and collect IP addresses, then they mass send them to ISP's and the ISP sends a "warning"

No proof or evidence is needed,in fact most of these are defeated in court because its actually impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt

It's just like DMCA, all the power is in a corporations hands(because they wrote the law) and they can exploit and use bad faith with no consequences

Unironically, this is why DSL was always better than Cable to me. Cable had better upload speed, though that's basically flipped in the last 5 years it seems, but it also usually had bandwidth caps and cable ISPs were extra autistic about torrents. I had Comcast for awhile in 2015 and they sent me my first and only letter (because I switched back). Trying to keep my bandwidth usage under the 300Gb a month cap was actual hell.

I'm sorry.

>implying VPNs protect your privacy
>implying VPN companies don't make the majority of their income off selling your data anyway.

Vermont is left-wing independent, and Maine would be pretty solidly blue if they had the bad sense to apply FPTP across the state like the rest of states do. The only reason LePage won years ago was because a left-winger challenged the DNC from the left and split the vote.

what the fuck is a good vpn to use for all you faggots saying "hurr durr cant into veepeeN"

a DVD-R should last at least 30 years easy, BD-R even longer, M-discs will last 100 years and even when the outer plastic layer eventually degrades, the data layer will still be intact so you'd only have to replace that outer layer and it should work as long as the data layer doesn't take any physical damage in the process
I've replaced the outer layer of a burned disc a few times as practice, it is tedious and took a while but the data layer was still fine and had no errors
ODA cartridges are filled with Sony's Archival discs and should last as long as an M-disc, if not longer

That's the vast majority of NE, again, we mainly vote left because no one here likes corporations trying to fuck with citizens.
Republicans COULD win in NE if they weren't all asslicking shills (though ironically many of them are NOW skeptical of corporations because of how left-leaning Google is), but that'll likely never happen outside of MA's governor.
I would vote for Republicans if they didn't always make it so obviously clear that they don't actually give a fuck about the rights of citizens if it means they can get more money from corporate lobbyists.

>by literally trace routing back to the ISPs sniffer you've caught them in an illegal act

Nah, just the pains of using cheap chinese DVD-Rs. My expensive Sony ones are still alive but they're also empty. I think it's the damn climate in this goddamn sweat shop of a house.

What a SHOCKING revelation. How could SUCH DIFFERENT countries enact such things? Hmmmm hmmmm hmmmm what if hmmmm what if they’re not so different after all hmmmm

No, you're paying for the ability to access that specific arrange from their special server.

I'd rather Canada apply for an associate status in the EU than joining the States.

The EU is shit, but it's not as unstable and batshit as the States are. The only upside to joining the States would perhaps be that Canada could solidly shift the balance of power towards the left wing of the Democrats and block the Republicans from ever getting into power until the do some serious party reforms and change to become more palatable like the CPC is.

>anything but large upload violators seeing anything other than DMCA

I really wish bluray stuff would go down in price. But that shit is just far too expensive to justify using. DVDs back when they were new/current were great because the drives and discs dramatically dropped in price fairly quickly. BDs, on the other hand, have been mainstream for like 13 years now, and they still have highway robbery prices. Fuck buying a BD burner and fuck buying expensive-ass BD-Rs.

And that's not getting into all the other bullshit surrounding BD where different drives are acutally different and X disc won't work with Y drive and so on.

Spain here.

Nope, don't think so. As long as you're not hosting a massive pirating website you're in the clear.

Google is a neoliberal powerhouse. It's not left-wing at all. It creams itself over the idea of the States becoming a multiculti meritocratic technocracy, just like the right wing of the DNC does.

I don't even know where or how to pirate shit anymore :(

holy based

The electoral college system would just solidify the Republican/right-wing base in the prairies, retard, with Quebec being filled with independent Governers and Senators because fuck ROC.

My fellow Okie.
I live in southeast where there's nothing around and I've pirated so much shit. Easily 30 GB of shit in the span of a month or two and got 0 notice from my ISP

>lady in the apartment below me moves out
>can't steal her DSL anymore
>she never used it so I basically had it all to myself
>figure it's time to get my own internet for once

>see the xfinity password of the tenant that just moved in
>return the comcast router, cancel and refund my service
>slurp up her internet for 6 months
>pirate brand new shit that just came out like star wars and marvel
>get some giant pop up warnings about copyright infringement from comcast
>you can't close them or minimize them and they cover the whole browser page until you call them about it
>but you can grab the window and slide it off to the side so you don't even notice it
>after getting 6 or 7 of those and her probably having to call comcast each single time someone finally figures out that she needs to change her password or turn off her wireless signal
>reluctantly have to go and get my own internet again

lol @ mutts thinking their military is capable of anything like this

Also lol @ your seething over Canada.

Reminder that Canada has absolutely cucked the US in 2019:

1. Grounded Boeing 747s and disallowed them in Canadian airspace, causing Boeing stock to plummet and forcing FDA/Boeing to admit 747s needed to be recalled
2. Told US to fuck off in Northwest Passage talks with Russia. US has to pay to play.
3. NBA champs (23 out of 24 teams in NBA are from US)
4. Cucked US’s masters Saudi Arabia and Israel by taking in sluts that are about to be beheaded in Saudi and acknowledging Palestine’s right to be a free state while reducing aid to Israel.

Canada is more based than the US and it makes you seeethe lol

based copyright laws are just another way for kikes to stop you from doing things on your own

Ontario, BC, Altantic Canada, possibly Quebec >>>>>> Prairies, brah. And that is if the Prairies go for GOP instead of Blue Dogs, which they very well might considering how further to the right the GOP is compared to the CPC.

No, I don't. That was the point of my post. Liberal Idpol doesn't equal left wing.

I'm Canadian, and despite you being wrong, I don't think your comment was inflammatory or anything.

Quebec won't vote Liberal in October, especially not with the CAQ in power.

Also, I don't think you know how the Electoral College works in the US. They can't just import immigrants and threaten them to remove their citizenship if they don't vote Liberal like they do here.

>But that shit is just far too expensive to justify using
M-disc can't be beat for long term storage, Sony's Archival discs which are used in their Optical Disc Archive system match it. No, tape does not compete.
>highway robbery prices
So you don't pay for digital distribution then right? Because that is far worse, even 1 cent is extremely over priced yet that is seen as normal which is a normalized mental illness.
amazon.com/LG-Electronics-Internal-Rewriter-WH14NS40/dp/B007VPGL5U/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=lg blu ray drive&qid=1564252683&s=gateway&sr=8-3 M-disc and BDXl compatible, this is the one I use and I have several of them, I have an external too which is also M-disc and BDXl compatible
Its not hard to understand, if you want to use M-disc and BDXL, which you should, then get a drive that is M-disc and BDXL compatible. Some drives that aren't able to burn M-disc are apparently able to read M-disc DVDs, not sure about blu-rays
I'll admit M-discs and BDXLs aren't low priced, but BD-R and BD-R DLs aren't bad and are still a lot better than backing up on a hard drive or even tape longevity wise
I do wish Inphase Technology had proper funding and a CEO that wasn't trying to sabotage the company and its product, they had a holographic disc called Tapestry Media that was able to hold 1.6tb on one disc in 2010, they went bankrupt a year or two later, pretty sure Apple owns the IP of that disc now unfortunately

If you want to know why, it's because asians are still scarred by the whole opioid shit Britain pulled with China.

How the hell do you get into a private tracker in [current year]? I used to be on blackcats, and gazellegames, and bitgamer, but they all shut down years ago, and if/when they came back, all old accounts were axed so it was back to square one.

Apparently things have gotten full autismo since then. I search around looking for how to get an invite, and nowadays you apparently have a fucking application and interview like I'm applying to a motherfucking job.

It's literally not. I've had to call them on numerous occasions because they shut my shit off without even giving me a warning. That's why I had to stop torrenting. It's always when I torrent some stupid Tarantino shit too. Oh, well. Haven't got cited for using Mega yet so I'll just keep downloading direct links.

I'm talking about back in like 2013 or 2014 when it got shut down for an extended period of time, and when it finally came back my account no longer existed.

Lawyers under capitalism was a damn mistake.

I have one bitgamer invite left, if you'd like it.

It seems to just be luck. I'm a burger and I've never gotten a notice after 15+ years as well.

The only time I've ever seen an ISP actually do something about a pirate getting reported was back in college. My roommate torrented some porn over the university internet, and they contacted him and demanded he pay a fine, I think it was 200 dollars. Of course, I'm not sure what would've happened had he refused to pay, but that was that.

Also in grad school the uni wifi was really fucking annoying because they blocked traffic traffic and even steam. For a while I had to download steam games and play multiplayer by using my goddamn phone as a hotspot. One of the main reasons I decided to move out into an apartment ASAP

>Quebec won't vote Liberal
Quebecois here, Quebec will absolutely go to the Liberals now that the NDP has crashed. Trudeau routinely polls around 40% in the province, and the rise of the PPC might even threaten the seats that the Tories hold in Quebec City by splitting the right-wing vote, even if slightly.

It's not how I'd like it, but you have to get your political understanding from Facebook to think that the Liberals aren't going to have an easy time picling up the province.

As for the CAQ, the ROC doesn't really understand what they represent, they themselves refuse to identify as Right, and while they are right-wing, they actually are to the left of the LPQ as far as policy goes. CAQ voters loathe the Conservatives and their austerity-focused philosophy, they are the ones responsible for reviving the Bloc, and a large amount of their soft-nationalist voterbase will likely go to the Liberals yet again.

Any service provider in the middle of nowhere tend not to care as much. Or at least that's my experience

Does those dorks over at /int/ actually think America isn't first world?
>Yeah because America has several problems and that means its not first world and-
So does every first world whats the problem here.

It depends what you're torrenting. Anything from really big players like Disney or HBO is locked down tight and will get you fucked if you're not careful, but Chinese soap operas or similar won't raise an eye because nobody cares enough to enforce it.

That's what I was talking about. Although to be honest, I think my memory is a bit spotty. You fucked up then because when it came back, I distinctly remember them just opening the damn gates for everyone to sign up on. Also, instead of fucking whining, you should've replied with your email so some user here can take pity on you. If I ask now, someone else might reply and get the invite. This is why you got kicked out, user.

"Bitgamer" was revived by some literally nobody from the community so it's not even the same as it used to be because the original hosts are not involved. Otherwise I've got like a million download points from whenever everyone was abandoning ship at the last second

>despite you being wrong
lel, that got me
Only thing is if Canada became a member of EU, I imagine it would end up becoming a net donor state and would end up sending money out to support the states falling behind
Maybe you'd get money for some of your lesser provinces, not sure what the distribution looks like in Canada
As well, you would be subject to Schengen zone and perhaps because of so, more refugees, regardless of what your beliefs are on the cultural aspect of these people, I wholly doubt Canada is in dire need of unskilled labor

>Anything from really big players like Disney or HBO is locked down tight and will get you fucked if you're not careful

Attached: a51.png (680x814, 466K)

They can not simply notify the ISP. The ISP is in no position to respond, valify and decide over the aquired proof and your activities. The media companies can either talk to you directly or sue you. Aside from the fact that people torrenting mainstream shit without a VPN are retarded.

Not applicable to areas with only one ISP. Also, it amazes me that in America, phone companies can sue the government when it forces a new ISP in town for diversity/competition.

Depends where you live. I can get 10/10Gbps here, however it's not really worth the price (mainly the insane router and mobo price to support it) so I stick to 1.

Don't you have to give your real informstion and sometimes money to literal who's to join these things?

gigabit is relatively common on the east coast, you don't have that even in a city?

We already take a shitload of refugees, and the Atlantic ocean separating us from Europe means we can't simply have people barging in whenever, our situation within the EU and concerning borders would be closer to Ireland's then anything else.

Ive only ever gotten 1 DMCA after years and years of piracy and it was only because I couldn't find my The Ring DVD so I downloaded it
I dunno who owns The Ring but they have lawyers on top of their shit

you're a faggot tripfag

I have 9 invites, it's not the bitgamer by the original people but it's probably a start to the autism world of private trackers

>pay for 15mbps
>get 3mbps but only if I am the only single person in the house using the internet
>1mbps or lower if more than one person is using the internet

The best ISP I know of in Oklahoma is Cox, which is located in OKC and Tulsa exclusively to my understanding. I'll be caught dead before I subscribe to those cunts. The rest of this state has dick for internet and monopolies otherwise

Estadounidienses, yes.

I fucking scream at them on the phone, they sent over their biggest blackest bodybuilder nigger technician to try and intimidate me, I caught him drilling holes in my wall for no reason. I told them if it happened again I had a gas can that I had labeled "spectrum" in duct tape. I still only get 4.5 though

America referring to the whole landmass is something that has been going on since forever. "American" to refer to the US alone is something that has only spread after the US came to prominence post WW1.

a imo

>spices
Uuuuhhh? Bootlandea?

>that upload speed
No thanks pleb

In all seriousness that kind of internet isn't available for the majority of the country, and most places it is where I've seen it's way too fucking expensive and they'll throttle the hell out of you and spy on your traffic to make sure you're not pirating

North and South America have always been distinct in reference. At best they are the Americas.

>1mbps or lower if more than one person is using the internet
Tip from somebody experienced with this: Get a Archer C7 and install OpenWRT/LEDE then set up SQM. Google "OpenWRT SQM" should give you what you need to know. It's the only time QoS has worked for me and didn't destroy my connection instead of helping it. I basically leave all my downloads and uploads uncapped these days because it will handle it for me.

Attached: big boss thumbs up.gif (257x194, 995K)

Nope, AT&T because they're the only people that service my corner of Buttfuck, North Carolina. Since they're the only available choice, they can fuck you over in any way they want because theres no alternative. Thanks, late stage capitalism.

Not really, the definition of "continent" is not even a universal one. It's mostly a Western thing to differ North, South, and even sometimes Central America.

Can anyone confidently say what the point of unplayability is in online gaming concerning internet speed?

Amerilards, never once

sorry buddy
but we killed entire nations for spices

I'd say 1mbps or lower. 2mbps or higher is more than enough for solid online play.

Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati
Shit on Ohio all you want because it deserves it but it does have major cities

spain?
catalunia-chan a best

The only actual ambiguous instance of a "continent" is the separation of europe and asia for cultural reasons

North and south america are very clearly and obviously two giant continents. Two separate continents. No, i tiny isthmus connecting them doesn't change this. Any retard can clearly look at the map and see two main landmasses there. The only people who argue otherwise are butthurt spics who pretend its one continent in order to validate calling themselves "americans"

I'm saving this post as a txt file named "technobabble". I'll report back if its of any help.

>needing a vpn to pirate and not get caught
Holy shit, you people are so fucking stupid.

spain used to rule over us
and we have the best battle theme in Civilisation V

Depending on your ISP, they don't actually do anything. I've received dozens of these notifications already. They're really just doing this to cover their asses since they're legally obligated to tell you to stop doing that. They don't actually give a shit because they like taking your money every month.

>have comcast
>every now and then they will for no reason what so ever, they will try and raise your bill
>have to raise hell with some poor fucker earning minimum wage in a call center
>They'll change it back, but you know that they keep doing this bullshit because other people yield to it.
It's this kind of bullshit that keeps me from being an actual republican. This should not be allowed. It's a zero cost way to buttfuck us. If it works, cool, they get just that much more profit. If it doesn't, no big deal, it's not like you have alternatives around to threaten to switch to.

Attached: 1528526737709 2.png (409x434, 280K)

There are only four continents, you absolute retard. America, Afroeurasia, Australia, and Antarctica.

Don't all torrent programs force you to upload at least .1 kB? In a court of law, that technically counts as distribution.
In any case, fuck America and fuck copyright and fuck capitalism.
And the libertarians that'll reply to me saying copyright isn't capitalism for good measure.

[sounds of gear grinding] Uuuhh... you said that EU got mad... So it means you're an EU country...
Nope, no idea, i give up, and i'm yuropoor even

This is what happens when capitalism gets this out of control. There are laws in place to protect us from this kind of fuckery but when corporations get that big theres no fucking way to police them because they've got money in every important pocket. Fuck this gay Earth.

sometimes they don't even send you a notice they just mail you the fucking bill

seems legit
