Now this is mostly false considering you deal with the shit that concerns their families or other issues. Not all of their development relies on Rean, only the parts that reflect into Rean as well.
That's why I said almost, who the fuck cares about the flying around to save our high school shit.
The problem is that due to the Sen games opting for a Persona-like system of locking a bunch of character development behind bonding events between Rean and the respective character, a good portion of cast interactions feels like they revolve around Rean, whether platonically or romantically. And because you can choose your love interest, the female bonding events in particular have to imply some sort of romantic build-up, even if you can only choose one in the end of a given game. So it ends up having all the trappings of a harem where many girls seem to develop feelings for Rean.

It'll probably be the Third equivalent. Falcom has split the Trails team into two groups so one is working on the Calvard game and one is working on the Third equivalent.
