For one, the plot reminds me of genealogy of the holy war. You have all these factions, and without giving many spoilers. At the end of the game, you WILL feel the good and bad factors from your choices. Basically, it's a game without a "Golden Ending" like, say, Fates. And that's good, because games where the faction options are ambiguous like New Vegas are almost always good. Gameplay-wise it's also great, nice pacing and many new mechanics that work quite well with each other. The support dialogues are also much less cringy.

So, should you pick it up? Yeah. Might be a bit confusing for your first FE game if you're new to it, but besides that it's a great entry to the series.

The Rotom-dex is fixed in this game and is more pleasant and consistent with what it says, yes, the way to get the rotom-power are complete shit, it's the only thing I don't like.

I haven't said that it is the best Pokemon game, that title for me is taken by Platinum, but I do think that USUM is one of the most complete and enjoyable titles in the saga.
