If you mean refn, it's because refn and del toro offered their bodies but can't act for shit, so it's other people voicing them, and they probably re-rigged the skeletons to work with mocap from the VAs, which will lead to stiff stuff like in this video. You don't have to mocap everything, they usually build a library of animations and re-rig them to the mocap "skeleton" you provide with basic animations. Probably not much screentime beyond what we've seen though, they safely restrict him by keeping him on this timer thing, meaning we'll probably get this intro scene, everything after is canned/repeated animation, and then probably a couple unique cutscenes (if they're not pre-rendered entirely) of him in the death stranding/the beach.

If the craters don't happen instantly, then does a person become a BT if they can't find their way out of the world of the dead before the crater appears at their body?

Heartman has been dying for around 10 years, so that puts the Death Stranding 10 years or possibly more before the game takes place, or at least before this cutscene takes place.

I think it's obvious that Sam is here on a mission, probably to get friendly with this guy. This is probably within the first few hours of the game, and he'll probably be an R&D type guy who Sam has to make contact with.

We've already seen how Sam doesn't mind calling out people if he thinks they're full of shit, so either he doesn't care about the guy being awkward or is trying to be friendly. You don't really want to offend people who could be of help to you in an apocalypse scenario.

It's a pretty common character archetype. Have you ever heard of Blade Runner or Matrix or are you too ADHD riddled to sit through them?

I did a few things. the shadows cast on the box is a separate layer set to multiply & slightly tinted blue. if you want advice for editing I'd say always go into levels and make sure to reduce the highlights and shadows to where they match appropriately, then go into color balance and try to match the tint (i.e. if scene is cyan then add that), then go into hue/saturation and desaturate/saturate to match. it's very easy when it's all you do for a living

but there are 12 scenes user, that's like 5 min apiece.

Oh yeah and that totally works for a story that lasts 30 hours totally riveting!

no problem, happy to help lol. for your shadow, try making it a separate darker layer from your original, put a layer mask on, then use the brush tool to paint the layer in. also another thing I did to wash out colors, made a light gray layer, set blending mode to screen, the set opacity to 10%.

I use perspective and skew transform tools to rough it into shape. I think there's newer perspective tools that are more accurate but stuff like this you only need to eyeball it.
