I think the game is kinda layed out to be played with 4 people anyway, else one is always the nigger who has to carry the chalice.

There's a single player mode. It's not as good. Magic is significantly easier though.

I remember taking this game to my buddy’s house. Me, him, and his brother were glued to the screen for like 12 hours playing splitscreen. I remember nothing about it except how different it felt from other games at the time. The souls games seem like a good comparison

The only magic you ever use in singleplayer is healing though, else youd be stupid not to just go full melee

That's quite a bit especially since most of the levels are huge and non-linear, have tons of secrets, alternate paths and some even change depending of what you did in previous years.

Don't forget Gravity, Holy, and Haste.

true, forgot about Holy and Gravity but those are obviously musts.
If you want to have Haste and Vita though you need 3 Vita orbs, not even possible in some dungeons
In multiplayer you could have Hastega which must be amazing

Hastega is rather difficult to cast, from my experience. Takes a little while.

This, it made getting some dungeon drops borderline impossible without having a gba to know exactly what you had to do to get your desired loot table after the boss.
Made getting some artifacts so tedious if you didnt have a link cable

Most of the bigger spells did, but having a Yuke party could alleviate that a little.
Also you could have the spell at the start of each dungeon, if you bothered to farm the rings for each party member

It's not a remake it's a remaster. It shouldn't change anything, just bring it to modern systems and finally make it possible to play Multiplayer without spending hundreds of dollars on Gameboys and Link Cables.

I REALLY hope that local MP is a thing though.

But I dont WANT to play it on a phone, it sounds scuffed beyond reason, especially multiplayer, which is why most people probably only even care about this remaster

I did mean the DS, yes. Ring Lock is when you press a button to lock a magic ring in place without casting. You can then cast another spell with its own separate ring. By layering these magic rings you could combine a greater number of spells with any number of casters. You could get 4th level spells by yourself, and there were even 5th and 6th level spells such as Ultima.

I will buy it on Switch, but it likely wont have cross platform for online multiplayer, and putting a game like this on IOS and Android will needlessly split up the playerbase.
And Im already massively worried that they will fuck up online matchmaking, and if they put it on mobile devices, will it cost as much as it will on the other two platforms?

I hope the Switch version gets a touch based menu. They missed the opportunity to use the DS, 3DS, or Wii U for this, and I'll be damned if the Switch version is not only a port of a mobile game but only has PS4/docked controls.

MP will lose it's soul without having 4 screens for the players. No more each person getting their own part of the map and you all having to point out where chests are, enemies are and communicate.

Wish you could go with this hairstyle for your character.
