I just beat this for the first time recently, I enjoyed it, but the repetitive nature of it really dragged it down. How do other Vanillaware game's compare?

I like the ending Ingway and Mercedes get, it's bittersweet, and it being the last thing you see in the game makes it a good note to end on, at least for me because I thought the stuff with Mercedes was the most engaging as compared to the other characters.
