To be fair you need a high IQ to appreciate Morrowind

>The Elder Scrolls Cycle

"One love most that Elder Scroll which he play first."

It's like pottery.

then how do you explain this guy?

I played Oblivion first and I prefer Morrowind and Daggerfall.

he played morrrowind first retard

Oblivion was my first, but it's my least favorite of the modern three.

Where does one find better light armor as a thief? Do I have to go dungeon diving?

Attached: saddest_dog.jpg (500x667, 49K)

Open empty lands with copy pasta dungeons vs a hand crafted world

Why has there so many ES threads lately?

but hes a zoomer he almost definitely played skyrim first

and fucks eventually sneed's

skyrim 2 announced

I was born in 1990 and I only love Oblivion and kind of like Skyrim. I hate the rest of the series.

Progress through questlines, Glass is pretty commonly found during the higher tier quests.

Or if you feel lazy, just rest until you get a Dark Brotherhood Assassin. Their armor is so good it's practically cheating.

just like me bro

Summer
I actually just started playing skyrim for the first time last week my first TES game, Im not making these threads though, it feels weird

You can get dark brotherhood assassin right off and it's broken as shit

Would you rather a personally crafted piece of poo or a “randomly generated” wild apple?

All the games are on sale

whats your build

There are ALWAYS elder scrolls threads
Just someone keeps making these exact same morrowind threads

I'm at the rank of captain in theives guild but the best armor I've found so far is newtscale and Imperial leather. I just joined with the Ring, maybe I'll have better luck with them.

>food analogy

Tong not ring goddamn tablet. Also I got the delayed db attack mod so I haven't seen any db members yet.

Not sure I made and Orc and use two handed battle axe and archery, I wont use magic because Im Rping as an idiot.

And yet it’s still better than Oblivion or Skyrim.

The reality is that Morrowind is such a revered game because it’s a “virtuous” game. It has the virtue of high RPG mechanics: attributes, diversity of skills, significant racial differences, ect. It has the virtue of worldbuilding: historical texts, stylistic diversity of cities towns and settlements, different clans fundamentally tied to the world, ect. And it has the virtue of immersion: journal, travel services, third thing, ect.

The later games were streamlined so that they would be easier to get into. This is a common point of complaint, but they are indeed easier to start. What makes these virtues so virtuous though is that they make the game more compelling, more engrossing, more comprehensive. It feels like less of a continuous grind and more like a journey towards a goal.

Shut the hell up you contrarians Skyrim is a much better game and you know it.

my advice. never underestimate the power of scrolls. they can get you out of a pinch. also never play on a difficulty lower then adept

Better than Oblivion in many ways
Though the lack of spell making and all around piss poor magic system really kills it for me
Best thing about elder scrolls for me has always been the very dynamic magic system

They way they gutted magic is honestly horrible

Chitin Armor is actually very good for its weight and ease of access.

bosses in dungeons drop good shit, found an ebony sword at level 15 on a draugr deathlord.

I heard about the difficulty and Im playing on Expert
Ill try to stay away from anything magical my entire playtrough if I can

As said, Glass is somewhat common but it's only found during the last few quests of certain factions. You generally don't find anything worth keeping during low- to mid-tier quests. Without Glass, you're stuck with Chitin, the gap in light armor is terrible.

Or Dark Brotherhood, which is ridiculously good for how easy you can get it without mods.

It hasn't aged well.
Of course it's nothing that mods can't fix

Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion

this is something that people either say after 10 hours, or 1,000. if it's the former, then fair enough but if it's the latter try to remember that the problem is with you.

in that case just try and max out your shouts get an amulet of talos.
when i played a melee build i would use clear skys alot. initially it looks like a useless shout but it has a knockback effect indoors and only has a 4 second cooldown (3 with talos amulet) so its good for stuns.

>1000
Only with Oblivion or Skyrim. Those games feel good when you're just starting but the more you play, the more you notice how shallow everything is.

Morrowind is exactly the opposite. It's harder to get into, but the more you play, the more you notice all the details and things you can do.

Honestly, the armor choices in Morrowind are fucking horrible unless you go Heavy armor.

For light armor, you can get DB with an armor rating of fucking 30 right off the boat and it weighs aboud half as much as Glass. Glass is fair for endgame but nothing amazing, still great armor/weight ratio.

Medium armor can buy Gold Armor relatively cheap early and it's about as good as fucking Ebony. Indoril or Orcish for the other slots isn't too hard to come by either. Ebony Mail is the single best piece of armor in the game, though everything else is a bit lacking for endgame.

Heavy armor weighs you down like a bitch at the bedinning, with Iron/Steel weighing about 120, with a maximum Encumbrance of 200 you're slowed down to a snail. But its endgame pieces are all great.

Btw. armor rating has diminishing returns and is capped at 75% damage reduction.

On sale right now if anyone's interested

Skyrim is the best?

Morrowind's lack of balance can make things feel pretty trivial in the late game, one of the draws of the game is the lack of level scaling and intimidating enemies early on, but eventually you'll be clearing out daedric ruins with joke weapons just for fun and you really have to be into the story/questlines to press on.

I felt the opposite way honestly.
When you start Morrowind/Oblivion, the early character creation has the most impact on anything you do in the game. Later on your choices barely matter unless if you go absolutely out of your way to handicap yourself because of how strong the player can get through many methods, essentially negating any early game choices. Eventually you'll have no reason not to have a character that is basically good at everything and has maxed out every stat.
Skyrim obviously has no unique character generation which is pretty lame, but at least the perk system (Although basic) allows you to make some decisions later in the game.
Basically in Morrowind/Oblivion you start off having to make decisions and you have a unique character, but everything blends in by the end of the game. In Skyrim everyone plays the same, but eventually you'll end up playing differently based on what you put points into.

this franchise got casualized to...oblivion

Attached: Oblivion.jpg (1920x1080, 681K)

I just spend 24 hours (not straight) modding Morrowind, and I'm already considering giving up and moving on to Oblivion after playing for 45 minutes of game time.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

>Create the cleanest game on the market. We can't just be average. Zero

Attached: todfd.jpg (1080x600, 78K)

the game has a VERY slow start. Try and just explore some dungeons

Oblivion is bland as fuck and the only good thing is the thieves guild questline. Just play Skyrim.

Skyrim is pretty bland as well and the guild questlines are some of the worst in the series

This. Even when i knew little about Morrowind i still didn't enjoy Skyrim. Shit was too boring and uninspired.
Morrowind has its problems but i still wasted 70 hours playing it for 2 weeks straight.

Nah the world is much more fun to explore than Oblivion's lame as shit LOTR ripoff world

>recommends skyrim

>Well, we're shooting for October, but we are officialy saying sometime
before Christmas. You know how these things go . The game is very

SIXTEEN TIMES the detail

I am NOT playing Skyrim. I don't care how many sex mods it has, I fucking loathe the game mechanics and quest system and everything. They restricted too fucking much from previous titles for me to enjoy it, I rather play the two previous titles.

I'll keep playing. I know it will pick up once I get immersed again and start seeing some gains. I'm just not having a good first hour of gameplay...

Hey guys. Controversial opinion, here. But, umm... gaming... is cool.

Oblivion is no better than Skyrim to be honest

IMAGINE BEING SO FAT

Skyrim is a hunk of shit on the bottom of my shoe. Oblivion will always be the first game I built a powerful rig for.

confirmed retard

Levitation spell and art direction are the only two thing that make Morrowind SLIGHTLY better than nu-TES.
>HURRR IT'S GOOD BECAUSE IT'S OLD
Just like Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 it's boring autistic piece of trash with garbage combat, garbage magic, garbage RPG system, lifeless world with retarded geography, zombie NPCs, non-existing roleplay and 95% half-assed quests.
Releasing such a trash around the same time as Arx Fatalis, Gothic and Deus Ex is just embarrassing.

it's been almost 20 years, get over it

Actually it's been ~13 years since Jewood fucked Piranha and I'll get over it when someone (Piranha or not) makes a game of same SOUL and quality as Gothic 1/2.

Okay so I installed both Better Bodies and Roberts Bodies.... Better Bodies has the most malformed terrible tits ever, but it has make dong. Roberts seems OK but lacks some things.

Anything else I can try? I'm happy with neither. Also I dunno what to do for hair/faces still, so suggestions for those mods would be greatly appreciated.

I hate the hyper smooth look btw, it is distracting and feels out of place...

Get attacked by an assassin on the first day in the starting town

The freedom and options make up for its other flaws when compared to the other elder scrolls games. Also dwemer ruins are cool as fuck.

only if tribunal is installed

I first played Oblivion and I don't like it at all, it's one of the worst RPGs.

What if Bloodmoon was actually a good expansion instead of a Reikling killing simulator?

>he can't recognize falseflagging retards

>not liking morrowind
more like you're an underaged casual fag

its so close boys...

Played skyrim first, oblivion second, morrowind fourth and daggerfall last. Each game felt better than the last since there was more features and things to do. My favorite is tied between Daggerfall and Morrowind.

*morrowind 3rd*

No challenge after level 20
Often goofy art direction
Quite possibly the worst combat ever implemented

Story checks out.
The MQ was top tier though.

morrowind would be a 10/10 if the combat wasnt some d20 shit, high 8 with combat

Almost thought you went with the corprus glitch. Are all those buffs just from enchantments?

should i get this one or oblivion deluxe lads? i already have a pirated version of morrowind but i'd still like to purchase them when i can, my only problem is money because muh neetbux

Jesus i didn't know Moorrowind was that bad

Fuck gaenor.

Both. They're like $5 right now.

that's the problem, i can only get one for now since i don't have enough money to make it until monday. should i just get oblivion? the deluxe dlc seems like a great deal to pass up desu

Skyrim was my first, Morrowind is my favorite.
I played through Morrowind for the first time on my xbox 360 via the OG xbox emulation.
Still had a blast and loved it, even if the load times when you die really tried to stop me.

Sure, it's worth it for $6.59 with all the dlc
Not to mention it comes with Arena and Daggerfall

Oblivion. Both are fun though.

I should specify you get Arena and Daggerfall with it on GoG. Steam just comes with Oblivion only.

I played the game so many times I developed a routine for this.

In vivec city, hlaalu canton iirc, there's a bank vault or somesuch and it's chock full of expensive stuff like ebony and glass armor.

First you need to get your sneak skill up. To do this, sneak into a corner somewhere, put a weight or something on your move forward key, and then leave it that way overnight. When you come back in the morning you'll have like 70 skill in sneak, which should be enough to finish sneaking around stealing shit in the vault.

That's probably the easiest way to get early game high end armor / money.

I also used to chase down artifacts early on as well. There's a bunch of them that you can get at really low level without much/any risk.

Flowers and mushrooms, keep swinging that dagger around.

honestly just pirate until you can afford both

Oblivion was my first and I agree

No. I started with Oblivion and it's the only one I actively dislike.

is that thing on the left supposed to be good? you "people", and I use that term little here, disgust me

>(not straight)
way to come out, faggot, nobody cares

nigger that's dominos

No, you suck

Attached: Johnny best Jojo.jpg (373x273, 30K)

played skyrim first. Morrowind is the best

Not true, Oblivion aged like yogurt.

You're a zoomer with 5 second attention span. Don't listen to anyone who says "it gets better", Morrowind is a lot like Sekiro in a way - if you're not gripped in the first 20 minutes the product isn't for you, you're one of those faggots who lost to Genichiro, you need a journo difficulty mode to hold your hand and flashing lights/dabbing characters to hold your attention and it just isn't there, the game isn't intended for you; uninstall it and play something else.
