Why is it so much better than Fallout 3 and 4?

Why is it so much better than Fallout 3 and 4?

It adhered to the aesthetic, game design ethos, and lore of the originals.

Because the people that developed it weren't a bunch of slack jawed faggots that complain about the patriarchy and twitter all day.

It wasnt made by Bethesda who apparently were big fans of series but somehow seemed to understand nothing about it.

I thought it was cool to hate New Vegas now

It had a competent writing team led by the guy who came up with the lore.

76 and 4 belong in B tier, to be honest. The gunplay feels good and the looting is superior and feels good.

Shame about the RPG elements but they are still better games than BOS or Tactics, by a lot.

Because it’s actually a RPG. Other than that, it’s not. It’s full of jank trash, runs like piss, looks like fuck, has dogshit physics, and horrible gunplay. But nerds can role play so it’s good.

NV is one of Yea Forums's only generally accepted games. No forced contrarian zoomer meme will change that.

>horrible gunplay.

>better than 3
objectively wrong.

>retards find wandering an empty wasteland fun

76 not B. Maybe C. However 4 can rot in D forever just because of how much of a step back it was. Felt like Fallout by Disney.

It made Jet pre war.
So much for respecting established lore

That was Fallout 4.

well for one it actually tries to be an RPG, but for me the biggest things are the writing and worldbuilding actually being competent

No Sawyer worked on NV.

Incorrect lorelet.

Chris Avelon

it does have shit gunplay
I have something like 500 hours in NV and live the game, but the gunplay is LITERALLY shit, it's fallout 3 gunplay with ADS and slightly tighter spread on all weapons
fallout 3 was fine because it encouraged VAT use, which was fine because it turned it into an ATB kinda thing.
NV has no reason to use VAT because you have an ADS but it's shit and janky

I see some Maybe from Fallout 3 and 4 just followed NVs lead.

shit taste

Because it was an actual rpg with your choices that actually matter, that isn't "wacky", or "lol guns".

It also helps that the game doesn't retcon the old interesting lore.

Maybe Myron just lied about inventing Jet.

*aims down sights*
*joins the "villain" faction*

fuck yourself, faggot.

But that makes no sense. If Jet was pre-war, why don't we see it in Fallout 1?

It was shit.

Making important plot choices is about 2% of the game and everything in between is absolutely mind numbing.

Because it wasn't the drug of choice in the West? How would he lie and make himself useful to the Mordinos if everyone already knew about it?

>Making important choices is 2% of the game
2% more than fallout 4 & 3
>Everything in between is absolutely mind numbing
For you, brainlet. It's supposed to be a RPG not borderlands

What was his fucking problem?

>It's supposed to be a RPG not borderlands
Really? I thought it was supposed to be a walking simulator most of the time but I guess it pretty much failed at everything. If I want an RPG I'll play the first two games or Arcanum or something.

And fallout 4 & 3 did it better?

Never played 3 but 4 sure as hell did.

>Fallout 4 had RPG mechanics better than New Vegas and 3
Bad bait

Really I have no idea what I was replying to, 'it' could have been anything in that sentence or his own reply. No, fallout 4 doesn't have better dialog options but it's better in every other way.

Nowhere to go in this discussion from here though, I get the feeling suggesting anything in 4 is going to be taken as bait, like usual.

But it's not. It's a fucking dogshit game.

the quests are all connected in one way or another, instead of random episodic events like in 3. there are more and better hubs. you can make a lot more money in a lot less time. and your reputation isn't a matter of black or white. i've never played 4, though, so i don't know if they improved the factions or not.

this list is perfect

DUDE FALLOUT 4 WAS THE PERFECT FALLOUT EXCEPT FOR THE STORY XDD

Wasn't there a ghoul in New Vegas who fed on radroaches

>trying this hard to be contrarian

your list is almost good so i went ahead and fixed it, no need to thank me.

Just roaches, and moisture from the walls.

the only place is for you to get better fucking taste in games

IIRC Fallout 4 was made by multiple teams that had little contact with each other. That would explain a lot of these inconsistencies.

>DUDE I WILL TYPE ABSOLUTELY TRUE STATEMENTS IN ALL CAPS AND TEENAGER SLANG TO MAKE THEM SOUND SILLY

>enclave has a massive mobile crawler base sitting inside a fortified air force base that isn't easily accessible from the main wasteland
>leave the president in a cave

The story. I didn't give a shit about it in 3 and 4, because it was boring and sucked. Vegas was actually interesting and had some really good "oh shit" moments. Dialogue was much better too. Matthew Perry especially killed it.

Dummy. One of the vaults in fallout 4 involve a bunch of drug addicts. One of the drugs involved was jet. There was no way vault tec could get their hands on this drug since at the time of the experiment jet didn't even exist yet.
Not a single line in NV even imply that jet was prewar.

Damn, I didn't know fallout was supposed to be a shooting game

How is OWB reddit

>Before the Big One some meat companies were experimenting with a cheap protein extract for growing food, but they had to ditch it.
>One little skin bacteria contaminates it, and it's all screwed.
>The contaminated version acted like an amphetamine when ingested. Little side effect. Don't ask. It's, uh, technical.
>When they first screwed up, they contaminated tons of that shit. And rather than ditch it, they fed it to their brahmin herds to try and recoup their losses.
>See, we start experimenting with the brahmin shit as fertilizer for the shrooms, except get this; then, we noticed the slaves working fertilizer vats were getting high from the fumes…
>By putting tons of brahmin shit in the vats, we found out that the fumes give more than enough of a kick. Eureka. Literally. 'Course, we had to test to get the mix right…
tl;dr they shouldn't have called it jet but the concept of pre-war jet isn't completely lore breaking

That's a nice observation, but I highly doubt Bethesda put that much though into it.

its not, there all the same game
