I think there is some middleground between 2 midis from one game, and every song in the entire series. Like maybe the 2 midi's and a remix.

Square's management is notoriously retarded and Umetsu owns the songs he makes for SE and they're expensive as hell to license. Sakurai even said in column's that one company was a huge pain in the ass to work with.

From what I heard this is the enix side of things, and according to the interview they are actually pretty strict but they gave Sakurai leeway/exceptions (like allowing multiple heroes to meet and fight each other).

The only worry right now is the music.

Nintendo doesn't do union voice actors. They go for the cheapest ones possible. It's why you get shit like Zelda's english voice in BOTW or the Pokken voice acting.

FF music is actually owned by Uematsu and he doesn't want his music on anything other than his concerts and the games they come from

technically they still get union but they go unlisted/alias, from what I've heard the contract implies burton must be named or some shit like that

Maybe the stage too. Midgar is literally Battlefield (LITERALLY, not "similar layout like DreamLand 64") with a new background and summon gimmicks. Still, I can't imagine them having less songs than Hero alts, so that's 4 at the very least.

What the fuck is this bullshit? Why is Final Fantasy so under represented? The artist and composer of the series are friends with and have worked with Sakurai. Is it just Square Enix? Why isn't Dragon Quest getting the same treatment?

They put on orchestrated concerts to play this music live at venues my guy. It's more iconic than 99% of video game franchises. Its victory theme is probably the most recognizable jingle next to Zelda and Mario selections.

I'm not even saying its worth all that or that it isn't terribly overrated, but crawl out from under your rock user.
