Yeah no, if you know anything about Mother 3 you'd know that we got a compromised version of EB64. Cut scenes, segments and entire chapters, Flint was supposed to return to the party and Itoi became so soft in his old age he had to censor his own ending.
I like Mother 3 for what it is but I'd much rather of had EB64.
Imagine if Square had cancelled FF7 only for it to re-emerge a decade later with 1/5th of the content cut out and in pixels. It's just silly to me.

This guy gets it. Even with the early 3D models and muddy N64 textures, there's a good chance that Earthbound64 would have been a much better game than Mother3. The Earthbound-style sprites are nice, but I would have preferred to have seen Itoi's original, complete vision
