statistically speaking most of Yea Forums would fail to defend this.

not if there's sectopods involved
the local army can deal with that bullshit

its funny because i fucking suck too. im too brainlet for old xcom games lads...

For me, it's EDF

Why is Hudson Bay so small? Did it dry up?

I really miss those X-Com playthroughs

Attached: 1255133.0599999998_image.png (1920x1080, 359K)

We don’t need to miss them if we make our own playthroughs. I keep telling people this but they never listen.

Even a blind baby can eventually save-scum their way to victory

playing XCOM 2 right now and I cannot even imagine playing this game iron man mode, I have been savescumming on a few missions so I don't completely fucking lose the game

I managed XCOM 1 on iron-man mode, the difficulty felt well balanced in that.

Savescumming doesn't count
The moment you reload a save you already lost

The polar ice caps will continue to melt whether/v/ directly intervenes or not. We've already past the point of no return as far as global warming goes. It's only a matter of time before the human race succumbs to extinction now.

> save scum
Good luck fighting a terror mission in the first month with basically 2 laser rifles user.

That's what explosives are for

Get on tha freakin point, dumbass!

I outstandingly suck at the game so there's no way I'm subjecting other people to that

What made the biggest difference for me in XCOM2 was learning that sectoods are weak to ranger melee

Just arrive and abandon until flying suits

>I outstandingly suck at the game
That's actually good, watching an inexperienced commander overcome all difficulties is fun

I'm at the point in XCOM 2 where I don't see many sectoids, it's just never ending mechs with armour and health plus loads of shield advent and andromedons

some missions are insane with me being severely outnumbered

Central Asia is a far better spot for a base

>tfw this one guy started his wh40k mod playthrough but never finished it
>tfw this other guy started his TFTD modded playthrough and last update was over a month ago
>tfw he will most likely never finish it either

>Original game has you view Earth from orbit, set to an alien purple background nothing like space, increasing the feeling of isolation and distancing you from events
>Remake has you view Earth as a hologram inside a bunker, always reminding you that you're safe and sound beneath the ground

It's such a small thing but it's such a huge fuckup. So much of the original's sinister atmosphere was lost and it wasn't always because better graphics don't translate into that sort of spooky as well as old timey pixel art.

>always reminding you that you're safe and sound beneath the ground
to me it conveys a more claustrophobic feeling
like this is the ONLY place relatively safe but if anything were to happen we're all trapped

different strokes for different folks

lel

nah, you can mis-spend all of your research time on garbage, forget to equip shit properly, and then drop straight into a terror mission with nothing but a smoke grenade and two pistols

That would require you to actively unequip things. If you're savescumming the worst you can do is forget to buy more ammo

>That would require you to actively unequip things

are you going to suggest that this is beyond the capacity of a blind baby?

unironically Yea Forums will defend this

>I outstandingly suck at the game so there's no way I'm subjecting other people to that
That’s like saying “I’m not delicious, my skin is made of marshmallows!”
I demand you start playing in this thread right this instant.

Or not buy HE.

Xcom 2 was a disappointment. Felt even more like a boardgame with even less earth saving simulations.
The amount of character customization won't forgive the shallower aspects of resistance management and honestly the story line was a bad idea.

There's a handful of people who absolutely adore nuCOM and a handful of people who constantly shit on it, to which the people who love the game say "git gud" and the people who say it's ass post their hot steam cheevos and it just devolves into a clusterfuck.

TFTD was such a gay cash grab I mean seriously

the original palette swap app

idk man, a lot of games did that back then

shut up bitch

name some other notable examples? I can't think of any off the top of my head. I'm sure they exist though.

in what way was your enjoyment of the XCOM universe noticeably enhanced by moving the entire thing underwater?

Thought this was supposed to be the screen when you activate the big ole' globe in gen 4. Little blue square and all.

>9 minutes after the aliens invaded we defeated them
youtube.com/watch?v=1RxcCY6MCZY

I'm stupid and could just be talking out of my ass, can't really think of too many. lemmings sold a christmas version of their game. arguably the original ghost recons were doing this.

How can anyone expect Yea Forums to defend Earth if they can't even defend themselves?

>first mission
>makes all his shots without triggering reaction or missing so much the aliens get a turn to retaliate
Now that's some RNG dependent horseshit right there, no wonder he saves so much in a minute

the only strategy in xcom2 is how fast i can one shot the enemy
seriosly the floter in xcom 1 need 2 action to just teleport to a place but in xcom 2 codex can teleport and cast a huge gun dissable area in 1 turn
you have bullshit (scout with serial) the enemy have bullshit (the retarded field of view in xcom 2) i just a mess

Is this the next switch game

I got the game back in 1995 from my dad's brother, the first game we've ever owned on CD-ROM. Funnily, we didn't get a CD-ROM drive until 1997, so it just sat on the shelf for two years. I've must have started a new game about 100 times over the next 15 years or so, never got even close to finishing.
I love vidya, but quite frankly, I suck donkeyball at it.

>being bad at Enemy Unknown
When I was a kid I tried a run where I did the absolute bare minimum to avoid a game over. The furthest I got was Mars. With only Personal Armour and Laser Rifles.

why does this game start your rookies with jumpsuits? wtf why not kevlar

I will I have been waiting for a game to be as fun as it and push the limits like it did since I installed it with a several 3.5 inch disk.

with a jumpsuit you can go faster and matrix the enemy shots

whoa

Shit's expensive and is not going to protect you against plasma cannons anyway

>first terror mission
>step out
>instantly NOPE

Gotta let the enemies move a turn first or else they start with full reactions which is bullshit

No, but the wonderful ones will.

>implying

fuck you i like it

no the fuck I wont
alien chads rise up

Attached: xcom 2.jpg (616x258, 45K)

I like the enemies more than their UFO counterparts. mutons are a bit of a joke but lobstermemes will fuck you up, and flying chrysallids called tentaculats can't be ignored either. the ocean is also a cooler aesthetic then generic barns and fields of crops, if you fought in the deep sea then it would always be dark no matter the time of day.
