and they added annoying as shit optional quests no sane person would want to do: acquire target > go to the target's location > they're at some other place > then another place > then another > then you have to back to the previous place > complete > yay shit rewards > rinse and repeat... it's like pointless fetch quests but worse

Ironically its main selling point, a vast universe to explore, is the reason for much of its flaws. The planets are bland and only exist to act as stop and goes for resources. You likely will never visit them again. The game would've been better if it took place in a single star system with hand crafted dungeons. There are many examples of games that become a slug to play through for this sole reason (No man Sky). The only thing this game offers is florans and mod support that surpasses Terraria.

I can’t play it after terraria simply due to its inventory. Terraria has the perfect inventory for what it is, as in the corner it is out of the way and can be accessed during quick play. Shartbounds dumb square, lack of shift for lights, and the way the mining tool is set into the bar made me quit out of sheer annoyance.

You will also have to get the preformance fixes off the steam workshop because the game does not utilize multi cores, is filled with particle effects and has a shit ton of bloated PNG images scrolling in the background that tanks frame rates

The building is fun, but the combat is kind of wonky. The exploration is fun at first, but eventually you run out of new things and it can get tedious. The story is atrocious. It's worth messing around with if you can get it cheap.
There's also tons of mod support.
