You pick a level and a battle plays Levels are different could range from 1 battle to 4, maybe more Im not sure yet. But the biggest god damn QoL thing. The option to click repeat. I get more success grinding than constructing desu.
All the units you can grind for in some levels either events or story. I just did some grinding now in about 4 hours I got 2 penguins which are SS units and pretty rare. It makes it easier theres a Auto function and a repeat function so I can just leave nox in the background for hours and come back when my inventory is full of girls.

I forgot to mention you only need to grind for a unit about 6 times. To get to 500% boost and you get to pick 3 boosts I think.
The good thing is there are "clones" you can earn them from events, normal gameplay etc.
They will also serve as a dupe to "500%" your units. They will also change icon and take on the icon of the girl.

the gameplay itself is piss poor as fuck and the girls are super boring on the whole, everyone is just an attractive anime character with a different niche to their appeal with very few standout designs
nothing in azur lane even comes close to gfl's cream of the drop for me, some of the artists they get for character design are just incredibly talented and add a lot to the game in their own way

I've got a friend who's super into fgo so I've see true despair, where you throw a couple hundred into the game strictly for premium gambling currency and still not get what you came for, whereas the money in gfl goes towards echelon slots, storage space, dorm rooms, and maybe, MAYBE, if I'm flush with cash I'll dump it into some tokens which are used exclusively to roll for dorm furniture and skins
all of the means by which you acquire units can be had solely from gameplay at a more than generous rate, it's actually insane
also dipped into pokemon cards for a while, got pure retard luck on literally my first pack and just rode the net profit until it ran out

quick repair contracts are also the most fungible resource in the entire game, if you actively play in any capacity whatsoever you'll be over 100 in no time. I personally haven't dropped below 250 in months, even when I was doing boss grinding, and once you get to that point spending them becomes more of a question of patience or considering it a good excuse for a break more than actually weighing the costs

It punishes you for being weak and/or powerleveling weaker dolls on high level maps with 2-3 carries, because the process of getting stronger in GF is so unbearably long and tedious, you may often find yourself throwing underpowered echelons at the enemy to beat the stage or grind, this will quickly drain both tickets resources, issue is multiplied by like 10 if you are underpowered and attempting to do this super limited event map thats the only actual content GF has between months of drought, unless you want to call the regular "events" content.
