Daily reminder that VR is a meme gimmick fad regardless

Attached: mayo batters up.gif (500x281, 1.6M)

pavlov is fun but im not exactly in shape so i sweat like an animal playing for more than an hour

and seated vehicular sim games
and horror games
and melee combat games
and porn games
really nearly everything but some RTS games.

and yet nobody owns a headset yet. why? because there's no reason to. not a single "must have" game that is VR only, or any sort of experience that you cant have anywhere else. its a gimmick.

i do. 'must have' is meaningless this modern era of hypersaturation. there haven't been truly 'must play' since like PS1 with MGS and N64 with Zelda and Perfect Dark. and I'm sure there were plenty of people who even missed out on those, at the time, because of exclusivity.

VR has GORN and Beat Saber and is going to have a new Valve Half-Life game before the end of year (supposedly, more like sometime second half of next year).

ever notice the only people who say vr is a meme are the people who haven't used it? why does vr make so many people absolutely seething because they don't have it?

Nope because all VR shooters have snail pace movement. There will never be a VR fps with deep and interesting movement mechanics because you would throw up.

Because there's no internet cafes with Index and Vives setup for BR HUE HUEs to steal like their shitty netbooks and consoles, so they try to dismiss it because they cannot have it.

>because you would throw up.
sure soiboi

And a blowjob is better than no job

Ever since I started doing sim racing in VR I can't bring myself to play anything else. It's just so good.
I'm not a car guy but I fucking love the Mazda MX-5 and Toyota GT86/BRZ/FRS

vr is nauseating, and I don't get nauseous from anything in the real world including spinning fair rides

VR is just boring after a while. The wow factor wears off just like anything else and you're just left with very very shallow games that take too much effort to play. I would probably choose non VR over everything but racing games, and even those are pretty bad with the shit clarity/fov of current gen headsets.

nobody who has played VR for more than a few hours gets motion sick anymore. I can play the original doom at full speed, rocket jump in H3VR and do backflips in Sairento and not feel a thing besides pure joy. Theres even a game about spinting at high speeds and its super popular.

rocket jumping in h3vr isn't anything close to rocket jumping in tf2. you fly incredibly slowly and you don't have to look behind you and quickly look forwards, or chain multiple rocket jumps together.

>Getting exercise while gaming
A-are we gonna make it guys?

to bad VR headsets are still trash resolution wise. I dont include those fucking $5k headsets as viable either to be include in mainstream headsets.

no, vr isnt gonna get you in shape any more than wii fit did

no, we're fucked. communist, minority white USA in the next decade, internet censored into a combination of cable tv and shopping mall. everything good is going to go away. VR is already confirmed on the chopping block due to concerns of 'ableism' in addition to all the classic litany of moral complaints against vidya (sex/violence).

Wipeout Omega Collection is the only game that's ever made me want VR super bad, but unfortunately its PSVR only so I know I'd get that and pretty much nothing else and it would be too big a waste of money for just one game.

I mean look at this shit this looks fun as fuck

They play at the pace of a normal modern shooter. Designing for consoles is a bigger limitation than designing for VR.

you're missing out because of being too stuck into peasantry. there are multiple options available in literally almost every game genre, in VR. Just not on the platforms whose entire purpose is anti-competition.

it will only be good when actual games start to be developed for it and not just a bunch of overpriced tech demos

But you'll always call every VR game an overpriced tech demo.

>VR is practically a high res monitor that fills your entire field of vision
>retards don't realize this and think it's a meme

VR games are legit trash, mostly indie trash at that. It's only good for porn and virtual chats.

>There will never be a VR fps with deep and interesting movement mechanics because you would throw up
You know you can play Quake in VR, right?

it's more than that. VR is the actual deliverance on the long promised and frequently failed motion controls meme. motion controls always sucked, even after they became capable of real 1:1 tracking, because of the inherent disconnect between the players own POV and the screen. a stereo HMD is the solution to that, and it makes motion control gaming actually good.

more like because it's expensive and requires free open space, which a lot of the posters here don't have.

Like pavlov or whatever?

Pavlov is more of a VR Counter Strike
I want a VR game that gives me the instant gratification and over the top bullshit as CoD
