it's unironically actually the only metroid I played
I kinda liked it at the time, but it's been like 30 years since I touched it
Little baby upset you couldn't beat Metroid so instead of admitting your own failure you have to come to Yea Forums and whine about how the game is the problem?
Nes games are near unplayable, Snes is when it got good with the exception of castlevania, mario 3 and Yoshi
>complete shit
That's too harsh. It's a flawed game, passwords, 30hp continue, and no map are bullshit, but I like it despite these.
Thankfully, Zero Mission exists.
It's good
Worst Zelda I've played. Ugly as fuck and just makes me nauseous to play
Nobody talks about how lame/annoying this game is.
There's a reason it never got a sequel. It lives on only in Smash.
hot opinion: NES games were better than SNES ones, they felt more gnarly and raw
Name one good game
just like your mother's cunt
Mega Man 1. I fucking hate that game dude.
If it had been less buggy and didn't use passwords I think it would have been decent.
This is only a hot take on Yea Forums, normies love the nes and the snes is much more forgotten
It could be great with just a few fixes like a map feature and not having to farm for health every time you die.
Pic must be unrelated.
nobody talks about this game period.
It only used passwords in the west because we didn't get the Disc System; it never used them in Japan.
Zoomer ass mother fucker
Nice level design you got there.
Zelda II is great, it's just the beginning you have to grind through until you expand your moveset and the game becomes far more enjoyable.
Snow Bros > Ice Climbers
It doesn't hold up
goomer yoomer poomer
It holds up great. I have no associated nostalgia and only played it for the first time in my 20s, and I had a great time.
Doom 2 holds up worse, honestly. Bad level design.
Get fucking good, you have to be mentally retarded if your ass can't even beat the first Metroid game.
People thought that at the time.
the problem wasn't not having a map, it was everything looking the same. zero mission didn't need a map.
I like it though. There just isn't much to say about a single 3 decade old game that doesn't have a story or anything. When you learn the jumping mechanics it's pretty fun, just different is all, and it had very good multiplayer. You can compete with a friend over score, race them, or simply cooperate to make the climb easier. Having a level select adds a lot too because then you don't have to start over and you can keep trying at those trickier mountains.
What about the Mega Man series? 2 and onward are still beloved to this day.
Not him but Zero Mission is baby's first Metroid.
Draw it, get an old Nintendo Power Magazine, look the map up online and or print it.
doomer joomer koomer woomer
So no arguments, huh? Then I rest my case.
well if it makes you feel any better i've never played a single metroid title
i just think wojakfags need to be hanged
Then don't talk about it as if you did.
I actually like this one better than the first LoZ, and I wish they'd do another side scrolling Zelda.
well i haven't
unless you thought I was OP
Decent/fun game but it has issues.
It would be nice to get a successor that's more polished.
That too, there are hundreds of nes games so obviously it's impossible to list all of the good ones, but castlevania, mario 3, and yoshi are the ones that immediately come to mind as still holding up
Not considered classics.
Literally the only good Zelda game.
Goes for all Final Fantasy games.
Super Metroid is good, agree on all the others.
Thief II: The Metal Age
I don't share the opinion that it's the best game ever, but there's also not very much to criticize here.
it's a shame nintendo won't give it a second chance in any form. the cdi games also being sidescrollers didn't help either.
literally the dark souls of zelda
>Not considered classics.
>Metroid
>no considered classic
Kill yourself, zoomer.
Nobody gives a shit about Metroid when it's so thoroughly eclipsed by Super Metroid.
It's not a classic
Pong is a true classic
It's just not fun to play
aged like milk
The jumping physics is awful.
some games are just old period
People do, Super is the best but Metroid pioneered it so it's also talked about a lot, there's a reason Metroid and Super are the games Nintendo constantly rerelease and build their games off of, Metroid II was one of the weakest 2D games and Metroid went back to its roots with Super building off the formula Metroid started.
MM1 is better than 2, 2 is for baby zoomers
>Nobody gives a shit about Metroid when it's so thoroughly eclipsed by Super Metroid.
Nobody gives a shit about Zelda 1 when it's so thoroughly eclipsed by A Link to the Past
ITT: shit logic
>MM1 is better than 2, 2 is for baby zoomers
gr8b8m8
why?
I don't give a fuck
Come at me
Except LoZ and LTTP are actually very different from a design standpoint, unlike Metroid and Super Metroid.
>MM1 is better than 2
this
this was complete shit on release and in 2019 it's still objectively shit yet there's a vapid crowd of absolute morons claiming it's good
the item system dumb shit, it's obviously aping FF7, the combat is shit, the dialogue is pure cringe and the entire story was written by an idiot and the music is ASS
Not him but Metroid is the most open-ended Metroid game in the series.
aww does the stupid baby need passwords and piss easy bosses to get through a simple platform shooter?
Great soundtrack but the gameplay is complete shit.
youtube.com
Yet OG Resident Evil holds up well.
Ironically weak acceleration. He moves more like an object than a character.
The issue most people have with this game is that they marketed it as a game about going fast constantly as a way to show off the processing of the Genesis, but the game should actually just be played like a regular platformer in which you don't just hold right and run blindly into everything.
larp harder.
this overrated horseshit of a movie
The only remotely difficult Zelda game got the most flak for the longest time. really makes you wonder.
Actually one of the few NES games that aged well gameplay and music-wise
youtube.com
mundane but not shit
correct
my 12 year old nephew can play it
>Actually one of the few NES games that aged well gameplay and music-wise
>youtube.com
Finally, someone with taste.
don't get me wrong, i love this game, but it's awful,
the fucking boobeam trap is anoying and forced
Anyone who's actually played gen 1 recently won't dispute that. The originals are buggy messes and except for yellow had awful sprites. Gen 2 was when the series became modernly recognizable. FRLG is fun though.
This game is awesome and holds up very well. The room with the Crash Bomb walls in Wily Castle is the only black mark on an otherwise excellent game.
but it's so unbalanced
yea
nah
>Metroid
>complete shit
Said it once and I'm saying it again, get fucking good, zoomer.
I thought no one liked this, even zeldafags
I got it when it was re-released as a gba classic for $5 and while it was enjoyable it was way too hard and knowing that you pretty much had to make your own map made me drop it pretty fast
This
>GBA
>too much of a fag to make his own map, look up Nintendo Power, literally just pull the fucking map up online
Fucking Zoomer scum.
This is a great game but it would have been so much better had it had save feature built in like Zelda and Ridley and Kraid fights weren't complete laughable ass.
>Fucking Zoomer scum.
I started with the nes wannabe 1995fag
Its a simple arcade style game you idiot. Its actually pretty fun but since there is nothing about it really but gameplay and this one game there is no reason to discuss it.
I got to the point where there's a fake boss fight down a huge dead end path that's annoying to get through and didn't want to pick it back up. I liked it better than Super Metroid though because the more limited options were fun to try and make work and the atmosphere was really nice. I'd really want a romhack that brings it up to modern level design standards without nuking the intrigue and danger.
I still remember that letdown in a different time
>First ever game was super Mario deluxe for GBC
>Heard there's other Mario games
>Play Mario six coins and Mario 2
>Absolute shit games
>Friend has this game
>What the fuck is this why are the levels so damn complicated
>Find out that the good Mario was Japan only.
That "good mario game" is in Mario Deluxe. You already had it the whole time.
Where.
Me too, zoomer kid.
Get more than 300,000 points in the original and you unlock it.
Fuck that seems hard.
Just do the infinite 1-up trick and grind it out. It's not that bad.
a lot of people unironically like it, and not just to be contrarian.
Its like a Telltale game.
