The cost of making the cartridges is too much and since they let developers choose which size cartridge they want, they'll always choose the cheapest one and either cut content or only put part of the game on the cartridge and have the rest of it be a download.

The 2010's, especially the second half of the 2010's, have been terrible for video games since all the developers who would be making video games are making indie garbage or mobile games.

Also, it's nowhere near as powerful as the Xbox One and PS4 because Nintendo feels like every console needs to have a gimmick that makes it cost $100 more so it doesn't have powerful hardware, the gamepad for the Wii U and the fact that it's a handheld, so it doesn't get most of the multiplats that the other consoles and PC are getting.

I know right? I don't like games with gameplay either. The only games I like involve pushing a single button (the play button). Especially if there is a progressive political message. This argument against the Switch doesn't make sense.
For Nintendo who is only a video game company compared to the giants of Sony and Microsoft, the risk involved with making a traditional console is much greater.
If they made something with powerful hardware then they'd be forced to make a loss on it, just like Sony and Microsoft do with theirs.
And if that product failed, the hit to Nintendo would be much more catastrophic than the hit they took with the Wii U, which was made at a profit.
And the risk of it failing is increased because it has to compete with three other platforms: Sony, Microsoft and PC.

Should the Switch have better hardware? Yes, it is embarrassingly weak for what it is trying to offer.
Should they even try to make an Xbox One/PS4 console? No, it would be an awful business decision and they know it.
