Chiller (arcade) is GARBAGE, but it's gory as a motherfucker.
Really enjoyed the way things got sliced and diced in that game.

The most brutal thing in games to me is when enemies don't just cleanly die on the spot, but rather can be incapacitated and they either bleed out over time or the player delivers a mercy blow.
The original Lugaru had that.

OP, play Nano Breaker if you haven't already. You are going to LOVE it. It has a fucking meter that keeps track of how many gallons of blood you've spilled.
Resident Evil 2 remake has some quite detailed gore mechanics doesn't it?

In most games with dismemberment it only happens when the enemy dies.

I liked the way you could slice your car in half in Carmageddon 2, as well as the sort of proto-ragdoll pedestrians. Gameplay-wise it's a big step back from the first but technically it was pretty cool for the time.

the only "great" thing about that game was its gore, and even it was less impressive than they marketed it as.
newest EDF game is quite brutal because shooting out limbs of enemies is now crucial part of the game. eviscerating frogs and ayylmaos is satisfying as fuck - shoot their limbs off one by one and then turn their bodies into bloody unrecognizable pulp while their wither in pain.
