It's insanely unpolished, has gamebreaking bugs, and isn't worth $60.
It's story mode is two hours at best, and that's not even counting that Ryuko's story mode is an almost exact copy of Satsuki's.
SPOILER WARNING:
It also plays the cliche "JuSt A dReAm" ending.
The character selection is small, and the RNG mechanic is unnecessary.
The developers behind the Little Witch Acadamea game worked on this, while ArcSys published it, which is disappointing, since ArcSys' own games are really high quality, aside from BlazBlue.
That set off red flags for me when it got announced, but I was hoping things would be different since ArcSys said that they'd be working closely with the developers to get things right. That TeamRED, the GGXrd devs would help out get it so the characters would look 2.5D, and "help" with gameplay mechanics, but it turned out so unpolished.
The gameplay is leagues less in-depth than a Guilty Gear game.
I'm so disappointed, because I REALLY enjoyed Kill la Kill when I first watched it, and being teased with a story mode where it centers around Satsuki sounded so great.
The end-game boss is a fucking baby made out of life-fibers, which is actually fucking retarded.
The Switch version also has massive slowdown, and the PC version has no keyboard support at all, alongside support for only three resolutions.
TRIGGER should have just gave the IP to Omega Force to make a Dynasty Warriors game, that would have been much better.
Joshua Adams
Has nice milkers though
Isaiah Hall
It's a cheap anime arena fighter. Did you honestly expect it to be good in any way?
Isaiah Miller
so it's shit like the source material? shocker
Austin Reyes
I don't think anyone cares about the gameplay or the story, it was all about the fan service from the begining, was it at least successful in delivering that?
Mason White
now imagine if they made a story (no pvp ever) based game and it was handled by platinum
it might have been okay as long as it wasn't done by the section of platinum that did korra or the tmnt game
Jason Kelly
I'm just about done with arenashit. They're all just reskins of each other.
Daniel Parker
shut the fuck up and post Satsuki booty pics
Leo Myers
>has a pc version fuck, guess I'm getting this game then
I was really surprised to see this with a price tag of 60 bucks. I expected it to be 30 at most. Since ASW were supposedly overseeing the project I was hoping for it to be designed with competitive play in mind (unlike every other arena fighter) but I don't really see it having a scene unfortunately, though I'd love to be wrong.
>shit la shit gets a shit game lmao maybe you should kill la kill yourself faggot
Christian Hill
Post Satsuki eyebrows
Luke Roberts
>I'm so disappointed, because I REALLY enjoyed Kill la Kill when I first watched it How can you be disappointed if you're already used to eating shit?
Kayden Moore
>arena fighter based on shitty anime ends up being bad woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
Isaac Morgan
This is so goddam disappointing. I knew something was iffy when I tried it months ago at Sakura-con, but I figured it was being handled by the Guilty Gear guys, so they'd be able to turn an arena fighter into something resembling a playable fighter. but so many reviews are mixed. What the fuck was the point?
Would it be worth finding it cheap down the line? Jojo's All Star Battle was fun enough despite the flaws. It fucking sucks that licensed shit never gets the polish it deserves. and now my faith in the team red guys is shaken (even if they weren't directly responsible).
>anime arena fighter is unpolished what a surprise
Zachary Cook
user you were waiting all day to say >kill la kill yourself weren't you?
Lincoln Ward
>Thought a budget arena fighter would be good >Thought ArcSys were involved just cause they are publishing >Thought anything involving trigger not called Inferno Cop would be good You only have yourself to blame. Like really I have no idea why you guys hyped this shit up, it was clearly always going to be bad. People just saw ArcSys and thought that somehow it would magic into being a legit fighter, when good arena fighters like Gundam play so different cause it is only way to make the open arenas and free movement work.
Ethan Mitchell
Hey if it's such a bad game, why doesn't Yea Forums just ignore it like all the other bad games? I'm starting to think most people here are children
Jason Butler
Can they stop making these anime fight games that so obviously have no polish put into them
They all stink and they only get by thanks to the hardcore anime fans and they stink
Levi Lee
My only hope for this game is for it to revitalize the KLK lewds
Liam Allen
>no siscon ending Dropped
Adam Russell
You only have yourself to blame. The game is only published by ArcSys and they probably just helped with the cel shading and nothing more. Play an actual fighting game now like UNIST.
Matthew Davis
Who could have know?
Aiden Gomez
>Cheap fighter >$60 Price Tag I think that about sums it up right there.
>but I figured it was being handled by the Guilty Gear guys It is amazing how easily people are fooled with this shit. Overseen by has always been marketing speak for fuck all involvement, it should have been clear to everyone from the announcement this wasn't going to be more than a cash in.
Owen Wright
>Play an actual fighting game now like UNIST. Solid gameplay. Complete generic trash character designs. At least KLK looks good.
Wyatt Martinez
we have a metric ton of these arena fighters, all of them play and work the same. They're the equivalent of Kart Racers for Childrens cartoons for anime.
You have no one to blame but yourself.
>the gameplay is leagues less in-depth than a Guilty Gear game.
Now this statement is just pathetic. What the fuck did you expect.
Colton Taylor
>The end-game boss is a fucking baby made out of life-fibers, which is actually fucking retarded. Not Ragyo?, meh
Blake Watson
I'm not seeing the critique about the gameplay. It flows well, isn't sloppy and is very flashy and fun to play. Unlike arena fighters like Jump Force and the My Hero Academia game. You can play it like a button masher but if you actually take time and learn combos you'll seriously do better than any button masher would.
Aaron Anderson
>11/10 demo >5/10 game
Nolan Rodriguez
>The gameplay is leagues less in-depth than a Guilty Gear game. Its not made by Arcsys, you dumbnut. They are just publishers
Tyler Jenkins
Gameplay felt pretty nice from the demo, but the RPS thing is super wack. I've wanted an arena fighter that has competitive depth for a long time, but most of them tend to put all their focus on fan service and leaving the gameplay just button mashing tier.
Colton Russell
Buy Gundam Versus. It's literally on sale right now and it's exactly what you want.
Zachary Murphy
>TRIGGER should have just gave the IP to Omega Force to make a Dynasty Warriors game I'd play that, that's probably the best genre for the series, large scale but fast paced, with over the top power.
You sound really mad, like a massive overreaction. First off I just finished Ryuko's story and yeah it's on the same track but you see things that initially were skipped due to perspective and have different fights as a result. The biggest issue I find is that the game is an absolute fucking resource hog and leans on the CPU far too heavily, though that may be just fucked optimization more than a bug. Also "Less in-depth than a Guilty Gear game", no shit it's an arena fighter, if you cut GG2 Overture down to only its combat it'd play very similar because 3D fighters can't account for inputs. Also There are spoiler tags, retard. Use them On top of that Life Fiber Baby may have been a piss easy fight but the climax is still well above the actual show, especially at the end of Ryuko's story where you fight an immortal Satsuki, forcing you to get the 3-Star finisher on her to end the match. I hated the fact that the ending followed that annoying ass trope too but not enough to ruin it for me like the show's final fight against Ragyo was. ArcSys definitely helped up the tempo and the only reason the RPS mechanic is RNG for you is because you're fighting CPUs, and even then near the end of Ryuko's story I noticed some of the characters had quirks in their choices during BV like Ragyo never picking Provoke, which allowed me to cheese them to Level 3. The roster is small but at minimum four more are on the way and possibly more, besides a small roster isn't the worst thing so long as everyone has a unique playstyle which I felt they managed here. At this point I just want them to fix the fucking CPU-hogging so I can run this at max settings without it trying to murder my computer.
I I'm thinking about refunding this, I literally do not understand the gameplay. Like, my attacks just go straight through people sometime and everyone has an unbelievable amount of HP. Also, playing the final story chapter my game crashed after completing it and I didn't get any unlocks desu
Dylan Foster
You fight her before that in both stories It's neat because as you get her HP down each character swaps in to help you in the fight.
I've actually played that a bit already, but I don't have anyone to play these kind of games with so it being 2v2 is pretty off-putting. Same thing with Dissidia being 3v3.
Andrew Nguyen
Why the fuck is is $60?
Brody Cruz
Capcock go home.
Carter Collins
>Using Rashid to shitpost Fuck off and take your trashy microtransaction hell with you.
>so many reviews are mixed! >go into steam reviews >it's all retards with babby's prebuilt gaming PC who have no idea how to use it
Ryder Turner
The real reason to play vidya
Oliver Turner
Didn't try it yet, but did they really fuck it up? Also, they were making a fighting game about an anime. Where are all the crazy outfits and characters modes? Fanservice like that would sell
Joseph Evans
There's a 1v1 mode for Gundam. No one plays it because it's not designed for it, but it exists
Matthew Peterson
>all these niggas trying to mash a win out with dual blade satsuki or ryuko >stomping their asses with plain old Bakuzan Satsuki >10 win streak
I forced the game into GPU mode in the control panel and the thing still uses 60% of my CPU for some reason.
Carter Gutierrez
how does an old obscure anime get a fighting game but not fate grand order?
Connor Ortiz
Is there any way to unlock costumes like Ryuoko's pajamas, even if just for the gallery mode?
Gabriel Hernandez
If Chamber of Time had the same amount of dev time as IF it would probably be considered one of the best anime games in recent times.
David Wright
Because Fate/Grand Order has a gacha arcade game
Julian Cruz
>old >obscure >Killa Kill
Juan Cook
I'm saying the anime came out years ago, it's a bit late for a game...it's not like dbz
Henry Ramirez
>Pc version I guess I have buy this now
Jeremiah Adams
Why people get so butthurt when you criticize their shitty licensed shovelware? When you do the same on the Senran Kagura threads its fans get mad as shit and after a while start spamming "muh Deep Crimson"
Jace Lee
I like the game but i do think 60€ was a bit too much for what it offers , im not going to refund it but i will be more careful buying games from this developers .
Dominic Brown
Going to wait for the deepest of sales because i'm only in for Nui
Levi Sullivan
>shit pink projectiles all over the screen >behold! Optic blast! NANI SORE
