Red dead revolver is problematic, stop posting it

2 > 1 > R

Attached: _-Samurai-Western-PS2-_.jpg (533x800, 51K)

2 is best
Revolver isn't even comparable to Redemption

Each one is better than the last. Unless you're some sort of nostalgiaboomer this is extremely obvious.

Redemption 1 for sure. Revolver is OK but it was overall just kinda messy. And it didn't know if it wanted to be fun and arcadey or serious. RDR2 is really good but too many parts of the game feel like a slog compared to how I felt in RDR1 excitedly wanting to go meet the next person or see the next town!

Who's the best gunslinger?

2. Anyone who disagrees has brain problems.

Red.

>I felt in RDR1 excitedly wanting to go meet the next person or see the next town
This.
RDR2 didn't make me want to wander around anywhere or just take my horse on a long ride through the brush just to see what was there. I always felt like I had to be doing something the game wanted me to do instead of doing what I wanted to do.

Revolver: contrarian
RDR: plebian
RDR2: patrician

Gun

Attached: bullet.jpg (215x304, 24K)

They're all shit. Play Call of Juarez; Gunslinger instead.

You sound like a retard.

Now there's a fucking game. Might play it right now, thanks user.

I finished revolver, got bored as shit in redemption, thanks to grand theft auto open worl with mission oasis structure.
I didn't even bother with rdr2 cos it looks like a slog to control your character.

This is only a choice between Redemption 1 and 2.
Revolver is an entirely different game they never made a sequel to.

The horse controls in 1 are shit and I uninstalled it after that. I haven't played 2 because I'm waiting for it to release on PC but I imagine the horse controls are the same.

You sound like a faggot.
I don't like your game.
COPE

Never played Revolver, but 1 is much better than 2 in all aspects other than graphics.

Even then the art direction is better in 1.

The horses in 2 have more precision, I guess, but they are still worse overall because they feel significantly slower and demand more tapping to keep the speed up. So it’s a lot more tedious. You certainly don’t get the feeling like you are blazing across the map like in 1

ITT: zoomers pretending they know what the fuck they're on about

>You certainly don’t get the feeling like you are blazing across the map like in 1

Yes you do, stop using shit horses.

2 has the better gameplay; 1 has the better campaign; Revolver was decent enough, but I got Mafia at the same time and that blew me away

how red the best gunslinger when he has to use 2 guns incase he fucking misses the absolute retard, best gunslinger is john

Holy shit take off the nostalgia goggles

Attached: 358814A4-2FDE-4C64-8E2D-79C930A2FB7B.png (640x720, 838K)

You most certainly do not, even with the Arabian. Even average horses in 1 feel much, much faster

This.

I miss Revolver.

I’ve only played revolver. Ask me anything.

Have you played Red Dead Redemption or Red Dead Redemption 2?

I’ve never played either of these games, hope you’re not implying the bottom has better art direction because more bloom

Both games basically went for a similar realistic style but 2 just looks much better and has more colors. Thinking that 1 has better art direction is just pure nostalgia talking

Attached: 6A07EF98-5F86-4831-BEA3-BEDB043D732D.png (640x720, 693K)

When was the last time you ejaculated inside a woman?

I have not but I’m sure they’re lovely and it seems like many people enjoy them

>implying

JUST STARTED CHAPTER 3, DO I GET THE OPTION TO ROMANCE MOLLY?

>tfw can’t find the fast version of the main theme when you’re in a gunfight

This is literally the only possible answer. Anyone that says otherwise is full of shit

revolver all the way

Attached: red.jpg (512x448, 49K)

>problematic
Is this the new buzzword

I like the story in 1 more. Also the music was better.

youtube.com/watch?v=iZ9iflvCwok

nah. just a /pol/ack fishing for (you)s

based antinostalgia poster

this

Revolver was a action packed romp through not only the wild west but it also had some elements of weird west and a delicious dose of spaghetti western. It's a completely different game from the sequels. Also the multi was completely bonkers shame Redemption 1/2 can't even come close to the craziness of it.

Which one lets me put my horses in the back?

CAN SOMEONE FIND ME THE FAST VERSION OF THE GUN MAIN THEME THAT PLAYS DURING SHOOTINGS

I like just emulated this game, it's kinda neat.

>shame Redemption 1/2 can't even come close to the craziness of it.

I like the more grounded approach of 1 and 2. There are also plenty of weird elements in these games, however they usually more hidden away (especially in 2).

red's red eye automatically marks targets, john and arthur have to manually select where to shoot, ergo red is much faster and more accurate than they ever will be (because they are both dead).

no one played revolver

I did.

Deadeye level 1 automatically marks targets too

Revolver was an arcadey shooter with buttery smooth controls that was all about rootin shootin cowboys and Indians. It wins by default.

I like all protagonists, though. Rockstar knows how to write cool Cowboys. Can't say the same about Max Payne.

PLEASE

Is Red Dead the first legitimate 3 > 2 > 1 in gaming history?

Revolver is a spaghetti western through and through it's a manly testosterone filled ride of non-stop action. Redemption is the wussy American western that's too much concerned with boo hoo feels and lowering your test than what really matters.

>realistic artstyle
Retard spotted. Your licence for discussing games has just been revoked.

I played them all and I like RDR 1 the best.

2 was still great, I just have no desire to play it again, compared to 1 which I've played through at least 10 times.

2 just had too much extra shit that made it sorta tedious. Have to worry about Arthur's diet, cleanliness, horse food, horse cleanliness, keeping the camp supplied, cleaning your guns, etc. I don't really want to play The Sims, I want a Western game.

The only good one. Based.

>muh bloom
shit its 2008 again

Looks WAY better the first screenshot in both.

>buttery smooth controls
a hot take and a half

>not Rising Zan
youtube.com/watch?v=F-aILrMl_sU
Johnny no more BABY!!!!

agreed, 2 has too many immersion mechanics that bog down the gameplay. Also poker is more fun in RDR1.

the final boss in that game is horseshit tho

youtube.com/watch?v=SkD_DZqpu8Q

Name one scene as kino as this in 2.

Ting is, this is average by 1 standards.

good shit nigga

Attached: Just you left.jpg (1280x720, 82K)

Revolver

Undeniably a kino scene, but it was a bit too short. Needed more alpha John moments.

This would've been a good scene had Sadie's screech not overvoicecd it.

>"2 is the best!"
>It's 1 with added monotonous horse shit and more railroaded missions
ANYBODY who says 2 is better than 1 is a fucking pleb.

>monotonous
RDR2 is anything but monotonous. That award goes to RDR1. Outside of missions, there's very little to do and very little to discover.

Also without the Euphoria physics and 2 second input delay.

Attached: Euphoria.webm (480x720, 2.95M)

Hunting animals that are so abundant you pretty much stumble across them without even trying is not exciting or engaging, it's boring. The missions where you're literally incapable of walking away from an invisible path are quite frankly offensive to the idea of player agency, and lord knows I never want to replay the game ever again with that sluggish intro.

Remember that mission where you escort the protesting feminists down a straight path? Does anyone know what was the actual purpose of that mission besides listening to Rockstar dialogue?

GUN

There really was a lot of superfluous filler content in 2.

Let's compare it to this. This introduces Landon Ricketts as a character, shows John in a foreign land, reinforces his character (fights dirty, doesn't want trouble as he just wants go get the job done and return to his family). It does all that in 5 minutes.

Are you retarded? RDR2's physics are WAY better than the first one's.

It's not just animals. You practically stumble over locations that offer worldbuilding, unlock sidequests or have items for you. Besides, most animals you have to look for.

Exploring the world is the one thing 2 does better, but when it comes to doing anything other than roaming around, 1 was faster paced and generally less annoying. It also has an excuse for the combat since it came out in 2010

2 > 1 > The one no one played

Feels pretty rushed desu.

Except Max Payne was a character made by remedy ya dumb homo

I know a lot of people who would argue that for the halo series. Most of them are just multiplayer fags though.

>Are you retarded? RDR2's physics are WAY better than the first one's.
Nope. Rockstar didn't want to pay for Euphoria Engine used in RDR1/GTA4. The physics are stale as fuck.

It's doing more with less, but more importantly it's not retreading the same ground over and over the way 2 does.

Not at all

It does look janky as fuck, but god I miss the way they go reeling. Top notch blood effects, too

RDR2 storytelling

>I think Dutch may be losing it

20 hours later

>Guys, I think Dutch is actually losing it

The gunplay is more fun in 1 anyway due to the more responsive input.

Is at all

Revolved had great local MP. Redemption had great online MP. Redemption 2 has online casinos.

Not him but if a technique looked shit in 2008 then it looks shit in 2018, 2028 and 2038.
>man shit tastes awful
>muh shit
>shit its since the dawn of time again

Yeah, I remember actually being able to run and gun without abusing deadeye in 1, good fucking luck with that in 2.

Based. I've played pretty much every western game and Gunslinger is the best one

>I know a lot of people who would argue that for the halo series
I agree on that., another example is Gears.

RDRevolver has
>2 playable natives
>a playable black man
>a playable indeoendent strong woman
>a playable white man
>the only playable white man dies off scree

All you need to do is git gud.

Attached: RDR2_Free aim shooting 02 (1).webm (640x360, 2.83M)

>”I think you’re gonna betray me someday, Arthur...”
>main character expresses exactly how he feels to the audience by writing in a journal and monologuing to the player

RDR2fags call this good storytelling

Nigga, the lighting in RDR2 is fucking phenomenal.

JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER! JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER! JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER! JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER! JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER!

Here's some native american war shit we squeezed in at the end. Why didn't we make more time for this instead of--oh would you look at the time. JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER! JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER! JUST ONE MORE JOB ORTHER!

Red Dead Revolver is the one i enjoyed the most it had personally and it felt like its own thing. 2 was just Western GTA.

>literally enforces a white saviour complex

>three (3) enemies
>beginning of the game

What are you talking about?

>John
>beginning of the game

Presumably the white guy is a christ figure. I wouldn't know since I didn't play it.

>has to strafe to the right to get the enemy in his crosshair

This is very not impressive user.

Granted I thought the shooting in RDR1 felt like shit without the heavy aim assist.

There are some things that really make me prefer 1:
>atmosphere
Not just the overall theme of spaghetti vs more grounded. But walking around in 1’s world just felt a lot cooler. Going around Mexico with those blazing trumpets in the background, or the snowy tall trees with the somber bells and pianos. RDR2 just doesn’t have those feeling for me, the overworld music is just so bland and adds hardly anything at all to the game.
>fun to 100%
1 is really fun to 100% because it has a good amount of challenges without going overboard and unlocking the outfits is great. 2 has so many boring, repetitive challenges that just kills a lot of the fun. I recall there were like several bandit challenges that were all just stealing stagecoaches and taking them to a fence. 2 also overdosed on collectibles like dinosaur bones and rock drawings and finding the plants for the guy in saint denis. Didn’t bother 100%ing the game and never will. 1s challenges are fewer and better.

A few more things I prefer about 1:
>ownable safe houses, not just hotels. Makes the world a bit comfier and feel more full
>better honor system and more reason to go low honor, cool dark horse
>cheating in poker

1 has less content but most of it feels richer to me. 2 has a lot of stuff it tries but I don’t think a lot of it works

His death isn't really christ like, he offers to hold off the bad guys with the woman, then the woman comes back and sees that he didn't make it

RDR2 SLOW BAD
RDR1 OLD GOOD
I HAVE ADHD

Attached: 8d6.jpg (645x729, 81K)

Yeah, that webm highlights how shit free aim is in 2.

The rewards for almost all side content are total shit. RDR2 actively punishes you for being a completionist. It's like it's trying to get you to reform your sinful ways and go the fuck outside.

Dude, it's exactly the same if not worse in RDR1. My point is that you cannot say you like 1's shooting but not 2's or viceversa.

Attached: RDR2_misc_free aim shooting.webm (640x360, 2.75M)

Isn't there a Mexican general too?

Yes but he's one of the bad guys IIRC

>atmosphere
>fun
You know those are just conclusions, right? You still owe us an explanation what makes RDR1's atmosphere so great, what makes RDR1 so much fun, and how it is superior to RDR2's. Simply citing an anecdote isn't cutting it.

Owning property doesn't really make sense since Arthur is a criminal on the run. He's with his posse and his posse is constantly moving around.

>better honor system and more reason to go low honor, cool dark horse
>cheating in poker
That I agree with, though. Although going full low honor is for fags.

I prefer RDR2, but ou make some valid points, user.
100% agree about the eerie music near tall trees/manzanita post

Attached: 378-3789365_post-apu-pepe-thumbs-up.jpg (820x627, 142K)

I'll never understand why people like the shooting in the RDR games. It's neat that it's not all automatic weapons like every other shooter, but it's still not that amazing.

>how shit free aim is in 2
Nigga, it's literally the fucking same. You point your cursor at something and shoot. There is ZERO difference.

You're not wearing nostalgia goggles, you got yourself the full VR set.

Calling Red a native is a bit much. He's a half breed.

It's about the hit feedback. There's something primitively satisfying about the million ways a body can hit the ground and how many holes you can put in it.

that doesn't stop modern descendants from calling themselves that, I'm like a seventh native and you would never tell by looking at me, but I'm still considered "native" because it's seen as a race for some reason

I don't know, i guess the combination of ragdolls and hard hitting bullets just feels quite satisfying.

I JUST WANT TO PLAY RDR1 AGAIN BUT I DON'T HAVE A PS3 AND MY COUNTRY DOESN'T HAVE PS NOW FUUUUUCK

Attached: 1511155966739.jpg (400x388, 40K)

True, the games do feedback exceptionally well. I just hate how the aiming in them feels.

You're probably right, I haven't played 1 since like 2013. I'm used to mouse aim

>however they usually more hidden away (especially in 2).

How so?

RDR2 has UFOs and voodoo zombies as rare encounters, off the top of my head

Nah you faggots. RDR2 has ton of input lag not in RDR1.

Attached: rdr2 lag.webm (1280x720, 1.41M)

Does RDR2 have undead nightmare

I wonder how many times he rehearsed that stunt.

The one with a proper PC port on Steam or GoG

Cause it was. RDR1 is completely overrated, especially compared to 2

Attached: b1f.png (492x692, 649K)

Nope. RDR2 is a bloated unplayable mess. Its online is a joke. RDR1 has nice pacing, good shootouts and also a fun MP mode.

RDR was actually fun

RDR1, RDR2 is not a video game it's a movie.

that controller isnt even powered on. if it was, you would clearly be able to see the reflection of the dumb ass lightbar on the screen. thats why mr. shrek hands tilts the controller away from the camera.

Say hello to the designated Switch owner.

RDR2 tries so hard to evoke the same musical pieces of 1. And it falls flat every time because how forced it is. Redemption 1 will go down as a timeless classic. Redemption 2 as an over-budgeted vanity project that had too much manpower spent on incompetent game design.

Attached: RDR-red-dead-redemption-14765660-1280-720.jpg (1280x720, 410K)

RDR2 already outsold RDR1, so there goes your little theory.

That's the v1.0 of DS4 where the light doesn't go through the touchpad.

RDR2 sold due to the good word of mouth RDR1 had. But then, sales don't matter much when disccussing these things.

>muh sales

So this...

Is the power...

Of Rockstar fanboys...

You just made me realize why I find 2 a lot less satisfying to do all the content. In 1 it’s like the reward for doing stuff was always worth it. Having most of the tasks tied to outfits unlocks helps.

>sales don't matter when discussing popularity
Incredible.

very based

I feel like 2 didn’t even try to have good music in the overworld at all. They basically went the BotW route of having it be really minimal and sparse. One of the reasons why the game isn’t as fun for me. The music makes a big difference especially when it was so good in the first game. It adds a lot to the atmosphere instead of just subtly complimenting it

So far, because I haven't put much time into RDR2

1>2>R

RDR2 didn't have Liar's Dice either. Also the physics in RDR2 are nowhere as goofy and fun as in 1.

I was more referring to those musical pieces like with Far Away and Compass. Just came of forced in RDR2. Like poor mimicry.

Oh shit, Breath of the Wild has shooting now?

No.

I played Breath of the Wild for weeks I quit RDR2 after the second camp because the game was so fucking repetitive and boring. Rockstar removed literally everything good from RDR1
>no sets
>no duels that are fun
>hunting challenges
meanwhile there is WAY too much talking and sim shit.

>implying you even own a console that isn't a Nintendo

>bbbubbbut you don't own RDR2

no, as much as you fags want to keep memeing 2 as being a masterpiece it's a shit game and 1 is superior in every way except for graphics

I miss pardon letters. I know they wouldn’t make much sense in the story context. But i just feel like they were a good way to commit a lot of crime and sometimes not have to worry about a huge bounty. In 2 I never wanted to rob trains because the bounty is just never worth it. Wearing a mask and trying to avoid all the cops can be alright but sometimes I want to commit crime in a way that’s a little more over the top. It feels like 2 really steers you toward committing as little crime as possible

That is a lot of cope.

Attached: RDR2 gunplay.webm (1280x720, 2.62M)

your screencap proves his point. john looks so unnatural in 2. he looks like a cartoon character come to life and the same for javier. they really shit the bed

no, arthur is an autistic beta cuckold

I'll go with revolver due to the arcade style game play

I never played the redemption 1 and 2 though

tedious is the best way to describe it. I almost dropped it during the 3 hour long introduction. the story is just not fucking interesting enough to justify that shit and I can't see myself playing through it again.

Yeah the mission design is really stupid. Half of the missions are just pushing a button when a prompt appears.
Why tf do you have me scooping horse shit Rockstar? Use the mechanics that were introduced and actually have some level of depth. This isn't a David Cage game there are proper ways of interacting in this game.

Why do you keep posting this fucking webm as if it's indicative of good gunplay? You're shooting a bunch of people coming through a door one after another like lemmings. You can even see the AI bugging out at the window and failing to shoot through it.
I'm genuinely curious.

Attached: bright.gif (500x400, 141K)

I would rather the gameplay be fun, the framerate in 2 and the movement make it control like ass

fucking this, overly railroaded missions offer no replayability, worst of all the games open world they literally have every reason to let the player handle it how they want but that would take work and not be a fucking cutscene, rockstar wants to make movies not games

>. You practically stumble over locations that offer worldbuilding, unlock sidequests or have items for you.
all of this is true in 1. I don't think you played it because 2 has nothing to offer except more fleshed out hunting.

2 automatically loses for having such a shit-stained character like Sadie be part of it.

90% of modern rockstar games is you listening to dialogue

just admit you hate video games and what them to be movies old man

It actually feels like a spaghetti western with the over-the-top flailing.

this is what happens when you target 30 fps and not 60

>what makes RDR1's atmosphere so great
better location. better characters. understandable motivations for those characters. better controls, better gunplay.
>Owning property doesn't really make sense since Arthur is a criminal on the run.
you know what really doesn't make sense? heading fucking east towards major population centers when you are the most wanted criminals in the country. Yeah, yeah I "get it" Dutch was wow kooky crazy! and just wanted to tear shit up or something gay like that but what was never explained was why all of the gang just went along with it when every chance they got they talked shit about dutch behind his back about how much of a cocksucker he was. seriously it was like 5 chapters of "man fuck dutch and his stupid ideas but I guess we'll just go along with it"

>RDR1
>master the pattern of running around in funny circles and rolling at the perfect time
>slaying scores wild dogs with my gigantic knife by the roadside in mexico

Nothing comes close

Go back.

the teams that made them are also completely different, everyone that made RDR1 made the old ass GTAs, you know the ones with fun gameplay? rockstar north got let the fuck go and 2 was made by the try hard "we wanna be scorsese films" team in shithole california

they weren't discussing popularity you retard they're talking about each games' respective legacies.

I'm sorry you suck at vidya user.

Just a heads up, right now both of you guys are either responding to a troll or a genuine moron.

Sometimes the dumbasses get caught in the crossfire, user.

What? No my point is you're at best arguing with someone who knows full well what they're posting is retarded, or at best you're arguing with someone whose brain isn't all there, like either a retard or an undeveloped child.

You'll get nothing out of it in any case, best case scenario is you win an argument against a 10 year old.

user, why are you getting so worked up over this? Let anons bicker, it's how Yea Forums works.

That wouldn't make any sense in the context of the game though. If Arthur is meant to be a white savior, the story isn't promoting it and is more a deconstruction of it

Played all three when they came out and maybe it's recency bias but going with RDR2

If we are talking about the story, RDR 1, RDR2 is really a companion piece and just makes RDR1 stronger while having a strong story of its own, but would not have the same weight as the first one has without it. Gameplaywise RDR2 is a lot more refined and it's not its fault that it exposed Rockstars cookie-cutter design to normies.

Can we all agree however that Revolver is a fun action game?

The art direction in 2 is shit-tier aside from the admittedly gorgeous environments. Everybody looks like a freaky cartoon character, it's unsettling.

Attached: just_noticed_johns_s.jpg (1800x1564, 208K)

For generally just fucking around? Not RDR2.

I haven't played Revolver yet, but between RDR 1 and 2, I'll have to go with 2. It expanded and improved upon everything in RDR1, and it includes the entire remastered map of RDR

Old game good. New game bad. unironically

b-b-b-b-b-b-b-based!

idk rdr 1 was a lot more impressive when it came out.

Revolver >> 1 >>>> 2
Only pseudointellectuals like 2 for it's story and characters like kotor 2fags, 2 plays like shit and Arthur is nowhere near as well written as fags like to make out.

That seems like a very cherrypicked image on the side.

>Red Dead Revolver
>Red Dead Redemption
>Red Dead Redemption 2
They fucked up the name in RDR2. I was expecting something like "Red Dead Revenge", "Red Dead Retribution", "Red Dead Retaliation" or something like that. Sounds way more badass than a simple 2

Came to say this, well done.

Why does John look like dogshit in the epilogue? The little images you even see for each mission when you replay them show him looking like the way he does throughout chapter 1-6.

Stopped playing RDR2 after realising I can't get Legend of the East outfit as Arthur since New Austin glitch is patched and can't delete update since digital copy.

Revolver multiplayer

Where does it fit in the canon?

the best GAME: revolver
the best "game": rdr1>2

1 > GUN > 2 = R

In terms of lighting, the top one looks more realistic and that’s a fact.

It’s absurd that these games, both high technical achievements for their times, are a decade apart. They don’t look much different from this perspective and the top looks more real, bottom has more colors but for what it’s trying to do it looks more fake

That's not input lag. That's just the game trying yo be cinematic by allowing animations to transition smoothly. This is why we shit on cinematic games. Because they favor animation over gameplay.

Kek, same by me, my grandma was a kike and that is enough to get a Israelian citizenship

>RDR2's physics are WAY better than the first one's.
Is this actually true? Because GTAV's Euphoria physics were a lot shittier than GTAIV's. Did they reverse this for RDR2?

I honestly prefer the environments in 1 too. Might be a bad example, but notice how the 1 kind of has more variation in the colors on the ground whereas 2 kind of just opts for green in most places. I also think 1 has a brush stroke feel with the trees and water I think looks neat.

Fuck, I forgot how good the cutscenes were in RDR1 before watching this.
I need to replay it some time.

Red actually survives and avenges his ma and pa tho.

kinda obvious really.

Yes excellent shooting gameplay

alright gonna try to list which game does things best:

graphics: rdr2
story: rdr2
gunplay: seems pretty subjective. 2 probably has the best solid mechanics, although the input delay might make it feel worse for people. the better movement in revolver might make it the best
horse control: rdr2
music: rdr2 has the best mission and story music. rdr1 has the best world music
side content: rdr2
world design: rdr2
missions: tough one. probably revolver in terms of pure gameplay. rdr2 has better scenarios though.

conclusion: rdr2 is generally the best at almost everything, although some might prefer revolver's more arcadey gameplay, but even then revolver isnt an all around great game because it has a lot of other problems.

lol RDR2 has the best biome variation in any open world vidya

Red Dead Racoon

stop using shit horses

Is this a falseflag or are you that unaware? That webm makes the AI and gunplay look pathetic.

>all this desperate old good new bad posting

Attached: cats_who_are_so_excited_to_see_you_17.jpg (700x419, 42K)

well you don't see bird people so that's a start

they made an entirely new engine for rdr2

>the best biome variation in any open world vidya
Sup.

Attached: Morrowind_Cover.png (991x1293, 2.57M)

Yeah they definitely butchered the RDR1 map, Tall Trees in particular.

Attached: 509464-red-dead-redemption-playstation-3-screenshot-exploring-macfarlane.jpg (1280x720, 165K)

why are their so many vocal haters of RDR2?

It was a solid game that improved on the old games without changing too much. The hunting and fishing systems are nice touches to the world that made it immersive.

Attached: pike.jpg (1600x900, 345K)

No.
pc and switch jelly mixed with zoomers

rdr2 just runs on an updated version of gta 5's engine, which runs on an updated version of gta 4's engine.

he probably has the low lvl dead eye where it marks where you point it and shoots. it was really annoying in the lower lvls of dead eye

>Mfw the sequal was going to have super natural themes in it including a ghost boss fight
IT'S NOT FAIR

all three red dead games are good. i really liked them. undead nightmare was great too

gun is also good. it's one of my favorite ps2 games

the rage engine that has been used by r* since like 2006 was made by r* san fierro

i mean, i guess, but i kinda feel like they tend to blend a bit too much due to the art direction and color choice. I feel like in RDR1, the contrast between the three regions is a lot more dramatic

Why do you act as if "improved on the old games" is such a statement that everyone would agree upon? It's not hard to see why someone would prefer the first one and think that 2's slower movement on focus on things for realism might be seen as stuff that made the game worse, not better.

i was so pissed when i saw what they did to tall trees.

This.
>make a sweet looking unique outfit
>Only John can get it despite the outfit clearly made with Arthur in mind since his entire time is spent in the eastern part of the map
>John looks like shit as well and can't even have his default hair, only the same haircuts available to Arthur

how exactly was it butchered

Attached: John.jpg (667x500, 187K)

If this shit comes out for PC I'm not touching it till someone makes it where I can use the online exclusive weapons and clothing in single player, because it's fucking retarded they aren't available for single player.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE do i find cougars for FUCKS sake
at least in rdr1 cougars were plentiful and felt like an actual threat, since they could attack your horse.
also, another thing about 2 is that it was too afraid of inconveniencing the player or not making some big controversy, and it shows
Why aren't there any horse thief events in the game? Out of all the events that happen, you'd think horse thieves were thought of.
Why can't predators like wolves, bears, or cougars attack you on your horse? Why wouldn't they immediately go for the horse first?
Why are gators so easy to kill and non-threatening? They can seriously move at sanic speeds when chasing prey, so why are they so slow?
Wildlife in general seems just too easy to handle. Yeah, Cougars kill you in one hit, but they're so rare and you typically hear them from a mile away so as long as you're prepared it's no threat.
Where are the Amerindian attacks/events? With how the last part of the game focused heavily on them, you'd think there would have been some renegade bands making runs on things like army convoys, stagecoaches, or campers. Maybe some Amerindian woman is stranded on the side of the road speaking her language, and you have to try and find out what she wants. It's like Rockstar was too afraid articles would say "New Rockstar game lets you shoot Native Americans" or something. Hell, they even forbid weapons in the Reservation itself. RDR1 had far more interaction with Amerindians in the final act of the game, even though they were just a bunch of Americanized thugs by that point, instead of having their actual culture and living within reserved land.

Also this, what the absolute fuck are they thinking with that retarded shit. I know the LeMatt got added to Online only which is fucking retarded, but what else did they add?

2 is a good wilderness simulator
1 is a good western simulator
R is a good arcadish shooter

Revolver = Japshit

RDR = Spaghetti Western
RDR2 = Revisionist Western

>Rockstar didn't want to pay for Euphoria Engine used in RDR1/GTA4.
RDR2 And GTAV both use Euphoria

but muh horse testicles

>new

Attached: 1515814933146.gif (230x230, 1.54M)

Why did RDR2 fuck up John's character so badly?

because its soulless

>RDR = Spaghetti Western
>RDR2 = Revisionist Western

I wish more people understood this. Then again the zoomers whomst take up the majority of this board don't even know what the latter is.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 73K)

How did it fuck up his character?

RDR1 because trying to be too realistic in RDR2 made things unfun. I just want my horse to be assumed to follow me from a distance and come when I whistle. Having to eat just to keep stats normal is retarded.

Are you retarded? RDR2 has an amazing OST

the west elizabeth portion of RDR1 was a better visionist western than the whole of 2

The mental gymnastics in which people will perform to justify their "old good new bad" mentality is astonishing.

Mario Bros. 2 is literally just a ROM hack of the first game. It was so underwhelming it never even came out in the west

okay retard

I think the art direction is slightly better in Mexico. But the Bayu makes it a close call.

does that make sense to you now?

What is Yea Forums's favorite western?

Metal gear solid debatably

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

VIDEO GAMES!

No. This is only for movement.

Unforgiven

Unforgiven

I mean that isn't really a showcase of the games physics. Just a showcase of a mud shader.

COPE. 2 has a better story and is more popular (has sold MANY more copies and will sell even more). Take of the nostalgia glasses and kill yourself

I am not one of the vocal haters. I loved the game but i do have some serious issues with it in regards to its mission design. I simply don't get why they would make them so restrictive when their game world and engine is designed to be systemic and versatile. It makes no sense why they designed the missions THAT restrictive.

RDR 1 plays better. You know, it's a video game. RDR 2 just the fact that you can't run around in the camp is a statement to the fact that it's a movie game

Attached: 1545502063456.png (633x149, 10K)

>Why aren't there any horse thief events in the game?
There are.

Uhhh

Red Dead Redemption blows its predecessor and its successor so far out of the water that they honestly don't deserve mentioning in the same sentence.

fucking hell you people are retarded

You really think RDR2 has overworld tracks comparable to these? I would be interested to see which ones, because the music in most of 2 is so boring and minimal.

>so good but so fucking short
>and nothing to use that badass cannon you got on

FUCK

More impressive than what? RDR2 is the best-looking, best sounding open world game ever made.

RDR2 did almost everything right. The only major criticism against RDR 2 is the main mission design. Allowing the player to tackle it with agency would've made for an amazing experience.

Not him but while it looks good and sounds good but there is no depth to anything

You didn't play the game and are only concerned with stirring up political "drama". There's so many random things in RDR 2 that even after 120 hours, I'm coming across new things, include horse thieves.

>Having to eat just to keep stats normal is retarded.
The game is piss easy user. The eating mechanic amounts to
>check lightning bar
>eat/drink to fill
Damn, how did you cope?

>There's a set number of bounty hunts
>Getting animal-skin clothing does nothing for you and actually will get you derided by NPCs
>Achievements get you a gun holster or some shit instead of a whole cool-ass outfit
>Unnecessarily gigantic empty-ass map that would take a full half-hour to cross corner to corner
This game was a major disappointment apart from just the mission design. I so wanted it to be more than it was

based

Unforgiven, TGTBATG

I knew this was going to sound the way it did before even hearing it because Japanese Videogame composers have no creativity; they're satisfied with just building upon musical cliches. Hell, it started with Super Mario Bros. when they ripped off every single song from established bands.

because it has color and isn't 50 shades of brown you dumb contrarian niggers

1 > 2 > R
1 just has way faster horses, more responsive controls overall, a more concise plot that doesn't have a Guarma chapter and having the ability to just fucking fast travel from anywhere holy shit I miss this.

You're proving my point.

Sure bud

Did anyone ever pick anyone but Cormano?

i miss the really fast horses

The original Djanjo. The Great Silence is pretty good if you go in completely unaware of the ending.

I jerk off to Cormac McCarthy books and you're just a fag.

nice google namedrop

And butchered by Rockstar, you fucking idiot

No, I really do enjoy his work, even if I'm a pleb and don't understand it all.

So PC is legit not getting this game?

Any with terrence hill

that is an objective wrong statement

Rdr2 > rdr1 > rdr
Honestly, I loved rdr1, it was great, but it always felt more "rockstar", like, stereotypes and mediocre writing. 2 is it's own thing and I like it

Attached: 1555641610502.jpg (712x888, 126K)

RDR2.
Arthur's story is just great.

>shitty cowboy game Yea Forums shits themselves over like saints row 2.

McCarthy and revisionist westerns are good for giving a deeper, potentially darker story
Spaghetti westerns are also good for a classic "hero comes to town and saves the day" type story

depends on which you prefer I guess but both are good views of the Wild West setting in different ways

Attached: boeh.png (415x415, 169K)

I don't know what your problem was. I got sidetracked a lot.

I bet you didn't even find the pig farm.

desu I have the biggest boner for latter 20th century revisionist westerns.. That being said, I'd cum buckets for a RDR3 set in depression era midwest.

Red Dead Redemption is objectively the best of the series!!!FACT!!!

John looks bad in 1899, but he looks better when he wears his cowboy outfit in 1904

It's the Punisher in the wild west. Which is so damn great.

It'd be an interesting setting, we don't get a lot of games set around the great depression that I know of
at the same time though, when does the story chronologically stop being Red Dead and become Grand Theft Auto? Both are crime series, just set in different times
though I must admit it'd be a fucking phenomenal idea to place a game during prohibition and the rise of organized crime with your al capones and such given how far games have come since that kind of thing has been tried last. really interesting period in American History with moonshine runners and proper street gangs getting formed.
I know Mafia did that kind of but to get something like that with as much polish and detail as RDR2 had, hoooo boy. That'd be some good shit.

Attached: 1543528561308.png (1011x434, 542K)

Bro just imagine the RPG tier autism when driving around in 20s model cars. I think the real difference is Red Dead takes itself more seriously and GTA is full of memes and absurd action.

that's true
Red Dead has plenty of funny shit in it, but it's a lot more grounded most of the time, never really going too off the wall
I'm glad too because I think that works a lot better
