Titania is easy, Innocence requires a lot of tank swaps and general knowledge of AOEs so you can keep him centered as much as possible so DPS can keep uptime but even then it's still not very hard.

is it possible to set up cross hotbars for certain jobs you want to play with controller but standard hotbar for ones you want to use KB+M for?
I couldn't imagine healing with controller but for other jobs it seems fun

just hold agro and point the mobs away from the party and you'll be fine

don't bother with gathering/crafting until you cap 80 on a real job. Crafters basically have to omnicraft and it's months and months of time investment and millions of gil on overmelds and GC turn ins. It's only worth it once you're basically done leveling everything. Gathering is much less investment, but you won't be making as much gil. Both are worth it. If you level crafters, you're going to want to level gatherers anyway to get mats.

So I'm trying to level up SMN and I've gotten to 51 running dungeons with squadrons but I want to start doing regular dungeons and not look like a complete retard in front of other people.
What should my rotation look like in the level 50-60 range?
For trash packs I've just been applying my DoTs to one mob then using Bane to spread them to the whole pack then spamming Outburst and Garuda Egi Assault I and II.
For Bosses I'm just applying DoTs then spamming Ruin I and II while weaving Energy Siphon, Fester, and Ifrit Egi Assault I, II, and Enkindle.
Is that about right or am I completely off? Seems like SMN gameplay changes completely once you get Bahamut at 70.

you get to do older raids in roullette as well except for the Coil. They're all painfully boring though

all normal raids are included in normal raid roulette, which is run by most people daily. for savage content you're best off joining a FC, and on occasion you'll be able to convince a group to run some savage raids at minimum ilvl for fun.

It has exactly what you want though. The entirety of BLU is running around ARR areas killing mobs and learning spells. The only time it gets bad is nearing 50 where you NEED to start grinding dungeons to learn new spells. Once you reach that point you can stop, since they're probably going to fix it in 5.5 anyway.

For most cases, you don't do unsynced content. You can level BLU all the way to 50 just by killing mobs in the overworld since they get a HUGE xp buff from killing random mobs. The only time you'll have to run dungeons is for your Job Quests. Sometimes they'll require you to learn a spell that's located in a dungeon.

Gookmoot is preventing me from posting images right now, but back in Stormblood when I decided I would unfuck my retarded crosshotbars (which were mostly molded by the order the game was dumping skills on me during leveling) and would git gud as Scholar, I came up with a far better organized layout. The L2 side of the primary battle crosshotbar has the basic DPS-centric skills (DoTs, nuke, Aetherflow, AoE button etc.) and the R2 side has healing skills (fairy cooldowns, Lustrate, Adlo and such, also Swiftcast because why not). Accessing the expanded bars by pressing L2 and R2 both in order gives me more dps-centric skills and cooldowns by pressing L2 -> R2 (Stratagem, Surecast, Lucid Dreaming etc) and healing ones by pressing R2 -> L2 (Excog, Sacred Soil, Deployment & Emergency Tactics, plus AoE heals like Succor and Indom). I then threw the lesser needed Resurrection on another crosshotbar with a convenient Swiftcast bind next to it. This smoothed out my sch playing experience a ridiculous amount. The funniest thing is that I realized I still wasn't using the control setup to its fullest potential since I still hadn't turned on double tap crosshotbars. Thus I was kinda expecting for Scholar to get more complex in ShB instead of the streamlining it went through for SB, but instead the job lost even more buttons. Now there's also some abnormalities in the placement logic of the skills since Dissipation is now purely a healer cooldown instead of the 'gain 3 more Energy Drains' button that had landed it on the L2 side before, but I still find it to be mostly natural.

crafters are 50+/50/50/60+/50/50/80/80

I leveled them different than any leveling guide. Usually leveling guide say you want to do them all in tandem. I just capped gatherers first, then slowly brought crafters up to 50 one at a time with levekits I gathered for and had a friend craft me the kit for free. It takes about 60-70 leves/1-2 weeks per job just because you need to sit there waiting for leves to recharge, but every levekit brings a job from 15 to 50 in like an hour. Then I just slowly cruised each job in pairs from 50 to 60 on moogle tribe exp and another from 60-70 on namazu exp. Once I hit 70, 70-80 levekits are easy as fuck and don't even need many turn ins, maybe 20 at the most. That was the easiest and most painless wait I found to level them. Now I'm just taking my time getting crp to 60 on moogle exp and gsm to 70 on namazu, then levekit gsm up to 80, crp starts namazu, next job at 50 starts moogle and the cycle continues.

I can end game craft food and alchemy shit now because neither has dependencies on any of the other crafters, just mats. Really though, if you just want gil but don't care about optimally getting gorrillians of it, just the gatherers and nothing else got me a good chuck of that gil. It is the easiest investment. Keep in mind, you're not going to be making gil as fast as I did. Most of the gil I got from gatherers was from just farming GC turn ins and selling them while everyone was trying to level to 80 asap. Now the markets have shifted away from that a little and crafters need crystals and VII materia. You just have to follow the demand and that's how you make metric fucktons.

It depends on what the tanks want to do. If he wants to pull a pack into another, it's bad. If he wants it all pile up on the healer than take it all back, he risk the death of the healer.

Anything that establishes enmity (Dps healing etc) gets a fat bonus if it's the first thing the mob sees. So the tank charges in and the regeneration ticks and the healer immediately pulls the entire group forcing the tank to big dick to get them all back. Then the tank misses one and it stands on the healer punching them in the face.

except thats not how it works. the mobs will always run and smack the healer one time at least once even if you do hit them while they're running to him. they will always complete their first 'order' (attack the person who aggroed me) and then follow their threat list.

you can see this in action in Steps of Faith. you can Provoke, SHield Lob, whatever you want to a Biast but it will always cast its thunder aoe on the cannon its targeting first

It's partially a gamble, even if you're only throwing it on during a buster. The gamble would be okay if you actually gained something from it, but when you successfully use it, you gain nothing.

I'd be really uncomfortable if I had that healer in my party. I don't trust some random healer to keep me up. Save that "look how low I can get the tank's HP" game to people you know.

Always double weave if you can.
Keep Drain/Siphon on cooldown and your DoTs up and you'll be fine.
