Falling for Monitor Memes

Alright fags I'm tired of my dual monitor setup, fucking gives me neck pain having to look always at one side and my monitor stand doesn't have enough space for one monitor straight in front - one monitor to the side.
And they're shitty 24" 1080p @60Hz anyways so it's time for an upgrade. I'd rather have only one monitor but I still need screen space for my video/audio editing timelines. Help me decide what I should get, here are my options:

LG 34UC79G
>Curved
>34 inch
>2560x1080
>5 ms
>144 Hz
>$450
Pros
+Ultrawide
+Size
+High refresh rate
Cons
-Low resolution at that size

Samsung LC34F791WQLXZX

>3440x1440
>4 ms
>100 Hz
>$650

+Decent resolution
Cons
-Most expensive of all the options

Samsung LC32JG50QQLXZX
>Curved

>144 Hz
>$370
Pros
+High refresh rate
+Decent resolution
+Cheapest of all the options

Fuck off, it's annoying. Either get one monitor or three monitors. Dual setups are a meme.

>shopping for TV
>dont know what to get because of OLED burn in from games

OLED is only good for phones with dark mode because it saves battery. You don't need one for a TV unless you're a pretentious asshole that cares about m-muh TRUE BLACKS

real talk my g's

how come when I play games I can't just play them at lower resolutions WITHOUT it having be stretched? Why can't I just get black bars or box around everything so I don't see stretched pixels. IF this was native for everything none of this would matter. I guess you can not full screen it but my fucking mouse slips off the window and my fps takes a hit.

what the FUCK my dudes.

Can't you set a custom resolution on the game's config.dat or something like that?

Then I as well as anyone else with taste is a pretentious asshole. The colors and blacks are worth it.

So.. change it in to keep aspect ratio in your GPU settings?

I personally got a 32" 4K monitor and a 24" 1200p monitor (upright).
It's a pretty good setup for work.

You realize that 4k 144hz is a pipe dream in modern AAA games even with 2080ti and other top end cards, right?

If anything I'd find a shop with good return policy and just test all them. It's hard to recommend monitors based on technical specs.

>4k
Nobody is talking about 4K here you stupid faggot.

None of those screens are 4k. Even if they were, 144hz is still comfy in every day use even if you don't get the framerate in games.

>(upright)
For what purpose?

nice

do you only play movie games or something? or just sit really far away from your monitor?

why are you even playing AAA games in 2019

stop being a fatass

>curved
None of them

2560x1080 at 34" sucks, go for 3440x1400. That's a great price for 34/3440, they used to be 800-1000

>falling for the ultra wide curve meme

Burn in is a meme, it doesn't happen in practice unless you literally have a static image running for months

rtings.com/tv/learn/real-life-oled-burn-in-test

Why? You're literally describing a non-issue.

The fuck are you talking about nigga? That gummy worm is yummy as shit.
Besides there aren't many flat high refresh rate ultrawides

>curved

You'll pay more for those and the benefits are almost nothing.

Get something decently priced under $400 - at least 144hz, 1440p if your computer can handle it. I personally use an 32" ultrawide 2560 x 1080p at 75hz. I'm looking for something 144hz at 1440p. I love ultrawide is no fucking meme, actually the best way to play games, and nice FOV advantage on competitive games that support 21:9 natively. Only downside is that some games you have to actually fuck with .ini settings to get a native aspect but not a big deal. I will only get 21:9 from now on. Dual/Triple setups are stupid as fuck and more taxing than a single display. Also the fucking bezels in the middle are retarded, never understood why people liked that.

...

Sounds like you have a space problem rather than a monitor problem.

How do you do this?

>OP has 2 1080p 60hz shitty monitors

>YoU hAvE a SpACe PrObLem

Ive been on 3440x1440 for a few years. Its pretty dope but get ready to do some tinkering because not every game supports it

also I put my old 16:9 monitor sideways as a second monitor

Elaborate. How do you do it?

depends on the game. there are two program called , flawless widescreen and widescreen fixer that have presets for some games. Mostly older games. and there are other games where you have to change some .ini values or replace the .exe with a modded one. usually you can just google "[game title] ultrawide screen" and you will find something.

Ive had like two or three games where I could get it to work and had to play with black bars on the side or on my TV

If you really need a large screen, then only the 4k monitor makes sense. 32"1440p is pushing it and that ultra wide will be pixel town.
Also dont fall for the ultra wide meme, its great for work/browsing but the game support is hit or miss. I almost had to open a hex editor for almost 70% of the games.

*could not

1ms response time or don't bother.

I've got 3 monitors.
Ultrawide in the middle
16:9 in portrait to the left and 16:9 in landscape above the ultrawide.

Since the side monitor is in portrait, I don't really have to look over as much.

While I do regular computer stuff, I sit a little to the left so the left half the the ultrawide is in my center view. Then when it's vidya time I mover over so the ultrawide is in center.

Fuck off not everyone plays online shit.

If he can't put one of them in front of him he does.
