>Best buy pre build PC $2000
>build same PC as the best buy one $1500

If you can find a decent deal on a pre-built PC then sure, go for it, but a lot of times they'll use worse parts for areas like motherboard, case, PSU that can fail sooner or make it a pain to work on. In general you can get a better value rig if you build it yourself

Because bestbuy PC builds pack inferior hardware for twice the actual price.

Pc's are made out of equivalent of lego blocks.
Its impossible to fuck up building one.

You are getting less for more.

Because with big box stores, you'll save a couple hundred dollars and have a more balanced build, and the opportunity not to cheap out on your power supply and motherboard.

Because not building your own is a massive waste of money

just buy a prebuild from a smaller specialist it will barely cost more than the components anyway, if not even cheaper unless you troll 5 different outlets for 3 months looking for deals on each part.

building it yourself is pointless unless you just really enjoy it

Why do you have to be such a fucking retard? Why can't you just kill yourself?

i bought a $1.5k maple dollar laptop to use for work, spent the extra grand in the hopes it'll play some of my older games better than my previous toaster

well this fucking portable wizard has managed to easily hit steady 60 fps, and plenty of games maintain 120. i'm the only one in my friend group with a 120hz screen, all my long-time pc gamer friends skimped on their displays, one is using a shitty sony PC

i'm flabbergasted. this machine is amazing. fuck consoles why the shit do all my ps4 games drop to sub 20 fps when that machine is twice the size and dedicated to games

nothing wrong with buying pre-builts, as long as they are from trusted vendors and not fucking best buy who cut corners any way they can so your pc will just blow up a year after use

More like $700 but whatever

Building your own PC is generally a lot cheaper, you'll get more bang for your buck, and won't get ripped over. Though frankly today, buying pre-builds is a lot less risky than it used to be. At least in my country, buying pre-build used to be a terrible idea, as they almost universally had a weak-link hidden under seemingly impressive specs that screwed you over.

Also, building a PC is fun and not an entirely useless skill, and something any man should probably be able to do.

But other than that, nobody gives a fuck, I can assure you. If you have the money to spare, but lack patience or skill: go for a pre-build if you want. Seriously, nobody here will give a fuck or even know and frankly you should not give a fuck to begin with.

>almost universally had a weak-link hidden under seemingly impressive specs
>low-end graphics card with unreasonable amounts of vRAM
>system sold with lots of RAM, but uses one memory slow memory stick with single data rate
>PSU on the edge of its performance envelope crashes and burns when a faster fan is installed
>motherboards lacking even fan control and additional SATA ports
>bonus points: Motherboard or psu doesn't conform to any ATX standard

prebuilds can suck a fuck

Well, I don't think its that much of a problem nowdays. But yeah, it used to be awful in my country. Also: aside from the potential trickery, everybody was building their own PC's simply because everybody was trying to cut the costs, as we used to be relatively poor compared to the west and PC's were already expensive as hell as it was.
It was actually pretty good: it lead to a very well educated PC culture and it was reflected in taste and even game development scene. Still kinda is, in a way.

How’s 2006 treating you? Or do you only buy Dell? Hey

Because ps4 is like 1300 dollars cheaper and came out over 5 years ago?

It still happens today, prebuilts skimp out on the PSU almost universally. And that is playing with fire, because PSU going haywire can burn everything on your motherboard.

I was just getting riled up by the memories of past scams big box companies tried to pull. Built my own machines since Northwood pentium 4s, so I aint completely lost.

If your getting a prebuilt that doesn’t let you select your own components that’s your own fault.

It’s like complaining about your car breaking down after buying it from a paki used card dealer.

And there's still no guarantee they haven't been built with used or returned parts. Face it, buying a prebuilt is always worse than making a system on your own. Discounts for individual parts, potential for futureproofing, however minuscule, ability to control what exactly goes where, all of it is superior.

While I agree, and I have been building my PC's since fourth grade, if somebody has more money than time or anxiety of technical tasks, I don't see much reason for blasting him over how he spends his own money. It's not like prebuilds are threatening the viability of DYI PC's or anything.
While I do enjoy building my computers, I'll happily admit that it is always a pretty major time sink and a bit of stress too. I can afford it but I can see why others won't.

You don’t gotta do shit it just costs more unless you buy during a deep sale. There are tons of online guides for building a Pc just make sure there are games you want to play. Don’t buy into the Pc master race memes build a pc and then use it for porn and shit posting if you can’t list 7-10 games you really want to play then don’t waste your money.

I find myself agreeing with you too of course and I wasn't the one blasting him for it. If you're afraid you'll screw up, which while hard, still is possible, like bending CPU pins and screwing up the paste application which leads to shit temps that could decrease the system's lifespan, it's probably better to let someone else handle it. Still, even better would be to educate yourself and become self sufficient.

But there is a guarantee, your warranty and proof of purchase. PSU craps out, get a new one on warranty.

If you aren’t a member of the PC master race already and want entrance, a pre-built is hands down the way to go. A console pleb is not going to troubleshoot in BIOS or know what XML is.

Your justifications for it being superior all apply to pre-builts as well, plus you can have the wire management and heat management done professional which almost everyone sucks at, which is a bigger benefit than most of your offerings.
