The nerfed his speed boost and said they gave him ore speed when wall riding and jumping off walls, but he's actually slower. After he was nerfed, Rein goats was gone, but they just built a new comp around Winstion and to no one's surprise: Briggitte, so rather than dealing with her and the problems she was meant to solve, they just forced 2-2-2 and didn't revert any of the shit changes they made to try and get GOATs in line.

They are adding a 2-2-2 lock to hard-prevent you from playing without DPS characters, because that has been the meta for 2 years: using only supports & tanks. And you want to know something funny? They are buffing supports & tanks because of this 2-2-2 lock. The most useless characters in the game (DPS) are about to become even more useless, except you will be forced to have 2 of them per team as cannon fodder to get mulched by the ultra-high-damage brainless no-aim tanks getting a billion heals per second pumped into their backs.

By the way, the new tank is a special form of cancer.

- He deals 200 burst damage faster than 13 of the 16 DPS heroes are capable of
- He has higher sustained DPS than 5 of the 16 DPS heroes
- His damage is extremely easy to land, two GIGANTIC projectiles that suck enemies in
- He has two CC abilities, including a 6-man
- He has a 1500HP shield that he can arbitrarily move anywhere he wishes, near-instantly, and recall to him instantly
- He has no footstep noises
- He has an instant cast ability that eats ALL incoming damage, ultimates included, and converts it into shields. He can get +400 HP from this.

Currently he is being played with Zarya & Lucio as a "ultimate deathball" character. He just runs into your entire team, gets zarya shielded, nukes a DPS with 200HP instant damage, uses his damage-eating ability, regains all HP and then some, nukes another person, gets zarya shielded again, rinse repeat

that's actually not why they're doing it. They're doing it because the comp meta has been 3 tanks 3 supports for at least a year now and everyone absolutely hates it, but trying to play a DPS just gimps your team. DPSes are completely useless in Overwatch and will be forever because of the way the game is designed. Overwatch has the following as core tenets of its design philosophy:
>No one should be able to kill someone instantly, TTK should be high.
>Dedicated tanks exist and are meant to protect teammates and absorb large amounts of damage.
>Dedicated healers exist, but should not be completely vulnerable and should have some movement abilities and damage dealing potential
These tenets, combined, break the concept of the DPS. Because a DPS is not allowed to do enough damage to instakill another DPS or a healer, they must all have their damage outputs capped at a relatively low level. Having their damage capped there means that they are totally incapable of actually killing dedicated Tanks, because Tanks have massive health pools and barriers and are the focus of constant healing. The fact that Healers have enough damage output to defend themselves and DPSes have low damage means that some Healers do barely less damage than DPSes do, but can also heal, which means that a healer will always provide more effectiveness to the team than a DPS does. All of this combined lead to every match being 3 Tanks 3 Healers. But, as it turns out, most people want to play DPS, so this lead to everyone hating it.
Of course, forcing 2 DPSes on to every team doesn't actually solve the problem. DPS is an inherently useless role in Overwatch, and forcing 2 people per match into it just means 2 people are guaranteed to accomplish fucking nothing.

Yes but there are many ultimates that harm bunker team compositions. You should remember that bunker meta is not literally a "bunker" and therefore an ability that sounds like the antithesis of that word does not actually indicate that he will destroy the meta or even effectively counter it. There are plenty of ultimates that, on paper, work well or even better against bunker comps, such as hanzo ult, junkrat ult, sombra ult, dva ult somewhat to name a few off the top of my head, but these heros have never served as an effective direct response to a bunker comp. This is because overwatch heroes are comprised of more than just their ultimates, as powerful and decisive as those ultimates may be at times. You're welcome to revise your statement provide actual substantial details to support the claim that he can singlehandedly, or even semi efficiently, destroy the specific team composition who's one of many defining traits is the fact that they tend to position behind one heavily guarded spot or corridor.

I'm glad there are still games that balance around the top tier so they don't have to do stupid stuff like ban team compositions to make comp watchable.

Tekken 7 is straight up unbalanced at the low to mid tier of play but becomes extremely balanced at the top.

Overwatch tried to have their cake and eat it too and you just don't win like that.

It has nothing to do with his abilities or his fit in the meta. They changed him because people on controllers couldn't control his wall ride efficiently. He will literally never revert back because of this fact.

This is an officially stated design goal of the Overwatch team and they have made numerous changes to the game based on it. The fact that Hanzo and Widowmaker exist and could, in the absence of the giant energy barriers, kill squishy classes with one headshot does not actually change this. Nor does the fact that, before everyone realized that you could run 3 tanks 3 healers and win every time, people played them and did well.

You get 10 bans in league and it's the same comps over and over with people throwing fits and dodging if you don't ban Ahri or whoever the FotM brain dead carry is. LCS is the exact same 2 team comps in like 80% of matches, bans change nothing.

That's a game with more than 100 options, in Overwatch masters+ Hanzo and Widow would be banned every match and that's that. Not complaining about it because the game would be far better but still, it doesn't give the game more variety.

Bans (if properly implemented in a proper process, unlike LoL) can turn drafting into a game almost in and of itself. In Dota 2 for example there were people dedicated to drafting and there a science behind it.
This is because when you pick something and when you ban something
it can alter what the enemy picks and bans to react to you.
Combine this with certain players being better/worse with certain heroes, the current strong/weak heroes in the patch, certain synergies between heroes, etc. and you can massively change how a competitive match plays out from the picking stage.
In fact, a lot of matches in Dota 2 were lost at the picking stage because the drafter just wasn't very good.

If you can't comprehend how a properly implemented pick & ban system can greatly enhance competitive play and make matches more interesting then your grasp of game design isn't good at all.

Feel free to point out a better ban system. As it stands, this is demonstrably untrue in professional play for popular esports. It's the same bans, over and over. Coaches calculate this shit before the season even starts and they rarely deviate from it. In solo Q it turns into either "I have to ban this because it's overpowered and nobody on my team plays it" or "I'm banning X because I main Y and can't play against it".

Bans is the most retarded idea ever. This game is about switching heroes to change your strategy. By banning certain heroes you can force a comp without counterplay.

DotA's pick/ban structure is almost identical to league, perhaps you haven't watched LCS in a while though; the final ban changes little because as I've said before, coaches make the decision of what to ban against which team before the season even starts. It doesn't add the level of depth you're describing.

It's not adding game-play depth to games with a pool of 100+ choices, how much do you think it's going to add to a game with 3 main tanks and 4 effective healers? It will be a case of "ban one, get the other", it's really bizarre that you're not seeing this.
