My son... the day you were born the very forests of Lordaeron whispered the name... Arthas
Literally will never be topped.
farthas
>This was made by the same people who brought you Diablo 3, Hearthstone and HotS
What the fuck happened?
>entire arch was build the perfect being with a orc mind and a human body
>complete shit the bed with WotLK and make arthas a little faggot who was holding the scourge back and muh father
What, the trailer?
Because the expac was garbage.
WoW was a mistake.
Ner'zhul was still there too. In one quest he literally says "I was once a shaman"
it's still juvenile babby-school writing, you were just younger and you never read a book so you thought it was the best thing ever
What are you talking about? It was made llike 10 years before Diablo 3. All the devs had already left ages ago.
It was still great until 3.2 and only an irrational contrarian would disagree.
>D3 was shit
>Hearthstone was shit
>HotS was shit
>Wotlk was shit
...and
Nope, Ner'zhul was killed before wotlk. The whole "story" is a mess and keep contradicting itself.
Ok so I guess Arthas was once a shaman
It had great and bad things.
Classe design was at its best, Ulduar was great, ICC was good. But recycled, horribly undertuned Nax was awful and ToC doesn't need mentioning. It also introduced Dungeon Finder and I think the dungeons were also much easier than they used to?
Atleast the initial Anub'arak encounter is pretty pityful, whith him digging in after every 10 seconds of being it and then does 200 dps to all players (with 10k hp).
It's just writers who don't communicate with each other. This one probably played Wc3 and didn't get the memo that a shitty book came out where Ner'zhul died.
In wotlk, everyone forgot about Ner'zhul. Even the undeads who were mind controlled by him.
>naxx remake
>dks completely busted
>shit tier heroics
>class homogenisation
>WG
>even more welfare epics than tbc
>garbage story with the worst character in all of wow - tirion
All before ToC
>and I think the dungeons were also much easier than they used to?
I think it was specifically the heroics, you didn't really need to go into regular dungeons, do heroics for a bit and they were mainly faceroll tier, then hop into naxx10/25 and get some raid gear.
It's a fucking waste : It didn't add nothing new to the gameplay, it introduced the cringe "story driven" gameplay, just like TBC it destroyed the lore, and missed the Dark/Horror atmosphere.
The nerubian empire was completely forgot as well.
It was the first time Blizz rushed a product.
Most of the stuff in WoW books is literally fanfiction. If it contradicts what's said in the game itself it's not canon.
Wrong, WoW books were always canon.
That's why wotlk is only about Arthas when it should have been like this
Why do you even think that? He's obviously a seperate entity, he calls himself "Lich King" exclusively, never really makes any references to his past life as Arthas. His personality is also completely different from Arthas, the way he speaks is nothing like him. There's also a whole questline where you interact with the humanity of Arthas in the form of that ghost kid. And then again, he literally mentions that he used to be a shaman in the past.
He doesn't have to scream "I'M ALSO NER'ZHUL!!" at some point to make it clear that yeah, his presence is still in there. In the ending of TFT he literally says "now we are one".
How could that possibly be, when humans > orcs in every possible facet?
BIG
>arthas a little faggot who was holding the scourge back and muh father
That turns out to be wrong though at the end of ICC
3.3 was THE PATCH that started the downfall. It’s the patch that started turning the game into loot grind casual babyshit
Into what?
Because his "dark side" took over. But Ner'zhul was completely ditched out.
Ner'zhul only wanted what is good for the Orcs and get revenge over the Legion.
>never really makes any references to his past life as Arthas
The story is all about his daddy issues.
He didn't give a shit about orcs in WC3 anymore, he just wanted to be free from the legion. Nothing in Wrath contradicts that.
3.2 was that patch
>Uther the Lightbringer: Your father ruled this land for seventy years, and you've ground it to dust in a matter of days.
>Arthas: Very dramatic, Uther. Give me the urn, and I'll make sure you die quickly.
>Uther the Lightbringer: The urn holds your father's ashes, Arthas! What, were you hoping to piss on them one last time before you left his kingdom to rot?
>Arthas: I didn't know what it held. Nor does it matter. I'll take what I came for one way or another.
>Uther the Lightbringer: I dearly hope that there's a special place in hell waiting for you, Arthas.
>Arthas: We may never know, Uther. I intend to live forever.
absolute kino
He couldn't give a shit about it since he was the bitch of the Legion and stucked in an Ice cube.
We will never know what were his plans.
Wrath is just about Arthas, period. You will never see some Orc shaman trying to reach the "Ner'zhul" side of him.
TBC started that trend, it was only an issue in WotLK because the heroics were so fucking easy.
Why would any orc care about Ner'zhul though?
My lore memory is a bit hazy but didn't Ner'zhul betray the orcs anyway?
He started out as a shaman who was highly respected by the entire orc society, Kil'Jaeden manipulated him into convinced the other orcs they needed to start attack Draenei settlements and after Ner'zhul started to suspect trickery he went to talk to the spirits who told him he was being tricked. He was going to set things straight but his apprentice Gul'Dan overheard everything and ratted him out to KJ who stripped him of his power and position.
After the orc's defeat in the second war Teron Gorefiend approached Ner'zhul and asked him to create more portals to new worlds and Ner'zhul more or less went mad with power after that but was led straight into Kil'Jaeden's trap after venturing into a portal he had created, it was at that point that he was turned into the Lich King and tasked with creating the Scourge to soften up Azeroth for the Legion's invasion.
According to your retarded head canon, yes.
