>side quests have highly specific conditions and progressing beyond those in the story will lock you out of them
>throws you into some asshole encounters with multiple opponents where kiting is the only real option
I remember liking it but fuck me did it have some dickbaggery, especially since it makes it hard for people to enjoy meaningful portions of the game. What were they thinking?
Is tales of berseria the same?

They wanted you to buy the strategy guide.
>Is tales of berseria the same?
No, recent Tales games highlight their sidequests and they aren't as easily missable.
No, but ESTELLE IS CUTE
I don't remember this.
>not making estelle seduce the guard
This very screenshot encompass all the things that disgust me in tales of and prevents me from playing more than an hour
>They wanted you to buy the strategy guide.
What a bunch of no good motherfucking heretics, regardless of the underlying reason it sure was an asshole move.
>No
Good.
Yes learning and travelling is truly disgusting.
>I wish I could bounce
Even royalty suffer from breast envy
The black dress costume not having pink hair was a letdown. It was cute.
Nah they have done away with that practice.
>asshole encounters
Like fighting 6~ bandits by yourself before Barbos, either you get staggered to death or rangespam. The wolf boss kinda turned it up a bit much for so early too.
Stop being a completionist autist
>me amerimutt
>me only play video games with realistic graphics
I just want to enjoy the content of the game dude. There being little to no clues or signs regarding these sidequests doesn't help either.
Fortunately, the ones you're likely missing out on aren't major.
Brionac is nice, I guess, but once you poach the skills off it, it's outclassed. Also, you're intedned to replay through the game to pick up stuff you missed on a second playthrough
>BUT IT'S A 50 HOUR RPG.
Grade shop buffs, skippable cutscenes, and transfers make subsequent playthroughs a complete joke. I remember one of the trophies in the original version being to beat the game in less than 15 hours, and on a buffed NG+ run, you can easily flatten the game in 10 hours.
>when you exit the ruins and have to go through layers of dialogue and then fight the two derpknights in a shitty fight
>nowwhere to save after the ruins and before that fight
It was very tiresome
Well that's nice I guess.
>can't fast forward skits
disgusting
You can skip them though?
>only redeeming feature of tales is the character interaction
>skip it all
It's debatable really. I get the logic of not wanting to miss content, but consider who the game is designed for. Tales games aren't super hardcore, they're meant to be pretty easy to play JRPGs for young teens and older.
You're probably an adult and have less time and more games to play. But imagine being a kid that is playing Tales, and you finish it, and then because you can't just buy games whenever you want you play through again but you try/do other things than before and suddenly there's these entire side quests that are new to you despite how you finished the game already.
It's a GREAT feeling, and something that a game that allows you to easily track and do all side missions and never locks you out of them is less likely to give. It's what lets some people put several hundred hours into games like this.
Look you can't complain about having to sit through them and skipping them at the same time that is not how this works you motherfucker.
I love the character interactions too and therefore I don't complain about sitting through them which I don't have to if I don't want to. The box interactions were gold that is for sure.
Berseria has a small questline for each party member and that's it.
Is that yuri?
Is it not enough? Do you feel the drought?
It very clearly is not, pic for future reference. But seriously, no idea, nor do I know if there is more content or who they are, if anybody.
how fucking smooth is your brain?
the skits add to the story and flesh out the characters which is great but I don't need to hear them recite their lines when I can just read through it myself and not sit there for five minutes watching portraits cycle through the same few expressions
berseria let you fast forward and I didn't lose anything by not seeing a character's face in a box slide around the fucking screen
>not enjoying them fully
uncultured swine
I activated my yuri superpowers and this is the source: pixiv.net
Sucks that the author made no Ristelle pics.
It's the only side content involving character interaction, rest is cosmetic/minigame/arena shit.
What did Repede mean by this
>need to even re-enter dungeons at specific times to get sidequests, without any indication
Look, autistically revisiting every town after every story development is one thing. But I am not checking out the dungeons, too.
