imagine playing rock paper scissor while knowing what the opponent is going to pick beforehand. and then add an option to rewind if you still mess it up somehow
Yes
They changed Byleth's male english voice actor in Heroes lmao
Never played a single Fire Emblem game. Will I like it if I like Advance Wars? Looks similar in ways.
Also, how much gameplay is there compared to reading? I can't stand all these visual novels pretending to be games like Persona and Valkyria Chronicles.
I don't understand.
Is there no "upgrade" from Fortress Knight?
great knight
How long is part one?
Maybe. It's the same developer and basic genre, but handled much differently. AW is more strategic where all the numbers are pretty fixed, and you have generic units you send out. FE has a lot of randomness in its elements like accuracy for hits, and unique fixed units with varying stats based on growth rates.
Nu-FE from Awakening onward has a lot more of the "vn" elements but the meat of the game is still the battles. If you want to try the series, I'd recommend starting with 7, which is just called "Fire Emblem" on the GBA.
You spend most of your time playing the game not reading text. Not to mention that you can skip everything with start if you want.
Then what about Paladin?
Do both Paladin and Fortress Knight upgrade into Great Knight?
Same question for Grappler/Warrior: both War Master?
Hero/Assassin/Swordmaster: they can't all go Mortal Savant?
paladin goes into dark/holy knight. there's also classes that are available to some while not for others, ie falcon knight. dunno how many of those there are
Playing it right now, it's overwhelming as fuck. And they throw everything at you in the first 2 hours of the game.
But then Warlock/Dark Bishop? And regular Bishop?
Why the fuck are there so many more advanced classes over master classes?
because they are basically merged advanced classes
this
When's Lunatic? Some said today, some said later this year.
It's today. It's a day one patch I think
Really? Shitty time for darkumbra to be down. I've been sitting on this game for 3 days now.
No release date. Just soon™.
>paying for two va's for your game when you've already gotten all the lines recorded because your employee did something awhile ago that presumably wasn't illegal and has no bearing on the game
nintendoenthusiast.com
There's no date given. It's just supposed to be close to launch. Glad I didn't preorder.
He also broke the nda
I've never played an FE before, is this a good starting point?
What the NDA?
Awakening is probably a better starting point, no one knows much about how this plays yet but the school sim emphasis is definitely not in line with most of the series.
So in response to that you spend money on another VA? The only party that hurts is themselves.
If this is about a broke NDA, the appropriate course of action would be to sue the guy who broke the contract.
That makes no sense.
So what exactly are Byleth's qualifications? He just gets a teacher's job the minute some dudes find him and his certainly-not-his-dad.
What was the NDA he broke?
Probably not, with all the weird shit the game throws at you right away that's unique to the series.
7, 8, and Awakening are probably the best starting points.
welcome to the metoo era
How easy is it to get into as a newcomer? I've watched some video reviews, and it looks like there are a gorillion menus and submenus with lots of cross-functionality. It kind of looks overwhelming.
the game is very easy even if it might come off as overwhelming at the beginning
almost as if there's a motive for them giving you the position and this is brought up later in the story, whoa
The entire pre-timeskip segment? 30-40 hours if you talk to everyone every month and do all of the paralogues/sidequests. At least that's what it was for me on blue route.
>add an option to rewind if you still mess it up somehow
Wtf? You talking about reseting or is there some super casual bullshit implemented in this game that managed to escape my radar?
it's a game mechanic you get from the start. you can rewind x times per battle. pretty easy to get a lot of uses for it too. it replenishes each battle. when you rewind you get to scroll every action for every turn and select where you want to rewind to
also if losing a certain character is a lose condition then you get to use your rewind too, i'm assuming it's the same if you run out of turns etc
Divine Pulse. You can undo any gameplay action even on hard mode, with a limited number of charges per map but it's still way too many. If you get a gameover then the game automatically tries to get you to rewind but you can tell it to fuck off and accept defeat anyway. I personally just don't use it at all, but yup, it's there and written into the story because apparently playing on casual mode bruised shitter egos too badly.
I feel like it's there to emulate Heroes, where you know how the battle will result, by putting your attack over the target.
>run map
>get fucked
>restart
Or
>run map
>get fucked
>rewind a couple seconds
Wow so casual
>fail a class
>demand you get to retake a test for a passing grade instead of repeating the course
>i'm just as smart as anyone else
luhmoa
Why?
Turbo gay
Got metooed. It's honestly ridiculous the amount of power corporations are giving social media goblins.
Wow its like real life isn't a game. Its fucking optional, don't use it if you're such a good player.
Are you fucking retarded or are you a different person jumping into conversations you haven't actually read?
Dimitri > Claude > Edelgard
I'm sure it's fine. Everyone starts somewhere and this game is standalone
Why are you assuming that? He could've just been busy.
Can any anons confirm if there are REALLY good maps like Conquest's chapter 10? No other map has captivated me so.
Do you choose your faction at the start of the game or do you get to know them first?
Good taste, literally the only good map in that game. I'm wondering the same thing here.
>Dorothea can yuri with Petra and Manuela
>FByleth can't
I thought we were supposed to win, yurichads. This isn't fair!
if anything you're smarter than everyone else at that point
if that work and nobody else did it they're the retards
I'm new.
1. Should I wait for lunatic difficulty before playing? I don't like my games being too easy but I also plan on playing blind so if lunatic requires me to 100% minmax everything like you only could with a guide, then eh...
2. Do I have to play all three houses to get a "true" ending? I've done very little research but so far I feel like I'd like Black Eagles the most because of Edelgard. Should I play it right away or "save" my favorite house for the last and final playthrough which will also see DLC being added and whatnot?
3. How much shit will I miss out on by not playing with a guide?
This will be my first Fire Emblem game.
How difficult is it to get into all the menus, stat growing and such? The actual fighting looks fun, but I'm afraid I may have gotten into too deep water when I saw all the menus the game offers.
It isn't linear story you can start anywhere, considering this is the latest game and it is getting good reviews just pick it up if you're interested by the previews.
Why did they put the yellow dude upside down, it looks so stupid.
I can't say anything for 3H specifically, but stats are generally straight forward. For example damage is simply calculated by Atk+weapon might-def. Higher speed does exactly what you expect like increasing your chance to avoid or making you attack twice if it's 4 or more higher than your opponent's speed. Technically you don't have to know all the stats of a unit though since you don't have much control over the growths. You'll quickly grasp their str, def and speed anyway. Like "this dude hits hard but only once" and "these two are physically tanky as fuck".
How is handheld mode
Is Resting or doing Seminars more efficient? So far so good, i love all the flavor text you can get and the characters are a bit of a blur but I have faves here and there.
Please user-kuns help me out here
Just play the game without worrying about anything for now. Even if you miss something, you sound like someone who'd just get it on a 2nd or 3rd playthrough.
As for lunatic if the 3DS games are anything to go by, I wouldn't play it on my first run. They seem to me like you have to plan the first chapters in a way that enables you to beat the later ones.
What I want to know is how the routes go.
Are there different "part 2"s for each of the three houses? Are we looking at essentially 3 different campaigns for over 100 hours of content? I take it the first part of the game is more shared story wise?
>Preordered game two weeks ago, to be delivered on release
>Delivery delayed almost two weeks
So sad right now
You'll get your ass beat on lunatic assuming it's the same as previous games. Lunatic isn't simply 'hard mode', you usually have to min/max the entire early game just to survive. Theres a hard mode already you can play on, lunatic is usually meant as a second playthrough challenge
Which difficulty should I start on? It's my first game in the series, and I'm not completely used to this genre. I hear normal mode is piss easy, though.
Nope, every route is different from the get go, because it's strictly divided by house, so all the maps an development happen to your house and only your house.
Obviouly they share some map stuff in the school section, but the story is different.
Looks fucking awful but besides that is fun
Okay thank you guys, I'll just play on hard and go with the black eagles then. Was just a bit worried that through the season pass they'll eventually bring out new content and DLC stuff and then I'll be on a 2nd or 3rd playthrough with a house I don't like as much. Dunno.
Do these games actually have postgame? Like once you're 100% done can you still keep going doing something?
So, are church missions are the same for all houses?
So it's essentially 3 different campaigns and each one is like 50 hours long? Pretty cool. I wonder if there is a true ending.
No, they have a definite story.
This game, however, lets you choose between three distinct houses, each with its own cast.
Nope, no revelatokns bullshit, you choose one house and own it up because someone else is getting a bad ending.
>he doesnt know about the weapon triangle revamp
disregard
I feel the same way
Suing the guy also costs money and time and he's forced to leave anyway
There is no true ending, they all have their ups and downs. Not to say there isn't maybe a secret path, but it's no more "true" than the others. Also story DLC eventually, who knows what that will be.
I guess its kind of a fuck you to the other guy in the way of, fine we dont need your jack off voice anyway or something. If youve got the money to be petty go head I say
>secret path
I woldn't call secret to an inevitable
>WARNING, THIS CHOICE WILL AFFECT YOUR FUTURE
The best girl is not the main heroine or even playable.
>have to wait a few days for my LE to arrive
Damn, enjoy the game everyone
it's still rock paper scissor
flying vs magic
archer vs flying
magic vs wyvern/people in trees
and so on. all you do is split up the map with counter units
I'll do new runs with different team configs, of the fire emblem games I liked ive played them all at least a dozen times over the years. except radiant dawn, played it for the first time last year, its pretty good
Reminder that Edelgard is canon route
Reminder that shes the most popular house(well you get reminded about it after every chapter if online on)
>breaks nda
>admits to metoo accusations on tumblr
if anything he dug his own grave
looks like reigen needs a new voice now
>most shilled house is the one people start with
You don't say?
with personal skills, battalions combat arts gambits supports flanking and so on working both ways I'd say its more than a few layers of variables above what constitutes a game of rock paper scissors! Then theres terrain like you said on top of all of it, then the goddamn class mixmatching and weapon choices and so on. You cant just take it all for granted!
You seem to be under the impression that a giant corporation will be troubled by spending a few hundred extra dollars on some voicework. Sure, the goal of a corporation is to be as penny-pinching as possible to maximize profits, but it's also to avoid anything that might look bad on the brand.
People ignore the fact that the weapon triangle wasn't the only reason why sword units are good against axe users for example.
Didn't he also break NDA over something, that's a way bigger reason to fire someone than pound metoo
What NDA did he break anyway
rock paper scissor is a hyperbole, it's more about units countering each other so hard and how enemy formations are laid out. i wish all those choices you mentioned had a bigger impact than they currently do, although i must admit i haven't messed around too much with battalions
"Postgame" in most FE games is replaying the game on a harder difficulty. "Postgame" in REAL FE games refers to playing the game and trying to get a particular rank - this involves completing the game in a certain number of turns, without losing many / any units, getting enough XP across your entire team, having enough money, etc. I'm going to assume Three Houses has still not gone back to the REAL FE way of doing things, given the freeform nature.
I want to save dragon mommy.

>Edelgard - No epithet just Empress
>Claude - Prince of Almyra
>Dimitri - SAVIOR KING
What the fuck is up with this bias?
Google it, disingenuous nigger.
I can't stand perma-losing units if it means missing out on story beats for them. Same for Valkyria Chronicles.
Should I just do what I do there and redo the entire mission if I fuck up, or should I just play on Casual?
What a based nickname. Based best lord
Played for about an hour so far;
Terrible fucking graphics and textures
Atrocious animations
Despite terrible grphics there's almost nothing in the world, No objects, nothing. Big empty rooms.
Kindergarden level story
>Woah this dude just beat some weak as fuck bandit let's make him a professor at this prestigious academy
Seriously? Is that the best they could do?
Classic or bust, don't be a fucking casual
>raises another dictator in order to be with you
>fucks off to Almyra in order to fix shit before coming back for you
>takes back his kingdom, kills the cunt trying to conquer it, fixes the caste system and reforms the church while taking you as his queen
Fitting, really.
Just play on casual, it's no big deal
Okay, if it is not for you then that is fine!
you can rewind so it doesn't matter
You blind or retarded?
Or both perhaps
which is the right wing faction
Empress mommy
They all want to fix a deeply rotten caste system as well as the grip of the church on everything.
Based Dimitri
bump
So they are all onions consumers? Bad game.
Black Eagles have a dyke leader and want to destroy Church
Blue Lions are conservatives, but most of them are faggots.
Golden Deers leader is from Mongolia and wanted to assasinate the pope
Church leader is a dyke with mommy complex
Okay I love FE but I really don't care about all the school shit. Will my units be garbage if I just skip it all?
Edelgard might be more in tuned with you or the Church.
FemByleth's tits are insane.
She kind of is in thr Church route
You can set it to auto, but it's more fun if you plan the stuff, because the game has a ton of freedom in that regard.
Is the auto system competent?
2 hours in but anyone else just feel already like this is going to be the best FE game in the series? The theme that plays when you first meet Sothis and of course, Fodlan Winds sound so fucking good
Jeralt is a good dad
i'd argue so. the school shit really isn't that bad though, it's far less tropey and interacting with your students is quite charming since they have far more to them than just their surface-level personalities.
actually impressed by how good the game is so far.
It goes for the most "natural" stuff.
But character building and fucking around with classes is really a ton of fun because of the sheer retraded stuff you can do.
Not as efficient or as good as using manual but good enough
Alright, give me back my ring, you ungrateful kid
But I gave mine to the King of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus
>start black eagles because i want to waifu Edelgard
>maps are mainly routs
>hard isn't as hard as conquest or even revelations hard
>characters are cool, have good supports with each other
>34 hours in Edelgard goes full retard
>only choice is to enable her or betray and kill her
I'm starting to wish I picked one of the dudes desu.
Thanks anons, I'll give it a go then and just switch it to auto if I don't like it
Go Dimitri or Claude next time
Welcome to black eagles, enjoy your stay.
When you want to kill her and feel good doing so, do Dimitri's and enjoy best boy.
im only in the first 4 hours but i really really like it.
You can kill her in the Church route which is a split off point in the Black Eagles route
Is there anything cringy about it like awakening/fates?
Did the Blue Lions route turn out any good?
How does this stack up against FE7 (the only good FE yet imo)
Fuck it, I'm playing Dimitri and Edelgard's routes both at the same time with my two switches
try scared stones, if you like that venture into the series. I started out with advanced wars aswell. Now I much prefer FE.
Yeah, but not nearly as cool as having her as final boss in her full deranged gorilla form.
there's a few bits of tropey dialogue from some of the characters but they're never the entire focus of them, so in other words it feels more natural since they're your students.
personally i really love the cast in this game so far
Some parts are clichéd but nothing overtly dumb
Yeah they're supports are great with the exception of Ingrid, her supports got shafted hard.
Dimitri is the best lord in a real while and one of the best ones in general, damn good character arc.
>woo Catherine early since she seems like good mommy-gyaru-tomboy archetype
>she joins my squad
>literally already expert tier with a legendary blade
>tears through all enemies like butter
I think I may have ruined my early game
Who /goldenchads/ here? I fucking love Claude so far.
This is my wife, Ingrid. Say something nice to her
Don't use her until the last 10 story maps, she's way too good. Though saying that Dimitri makes things way too easy. His strength, dex/skill, speed are all so good
So you can't fuck Sothis?
Yeah I'm going to decomission her for a bit.
I was just shocked when I first used her, a heavy knight attacked her and she one-shot him on the counter, fucking crazy.
He's amazing as long as you don't put him in the range of a magic user.
You have the worst supports out of the Blue Lions.
You can if you didn't S rank anyone else since she comes back as your tulpa.
>first dialogue choice with Sothis
>agree that you're beneath her
>get good boy points with her
Boner activate
fuck off diavolo go die somewhere else
Are there units exclusive to the church route?
>Picked her but quickly changed my mind 20 minutes later after hearing a little about her
>Biggest reason I went with her was Bernadetta
>Restarted and went with Claude and will just recruit characters I like enough
>Claude is pretty fun so far and the house characters here already seem likable
Hope this route is good. Only like 2 hours in and did the first mock battle, yeah I'm probably slow, spent some time looking around the school for those blue spots to get shit.
>Hope this route is good
Infodumpy.
nice. i have a few questions though, does divine pulse have restrictions like "you can't go way back to turn 1"?
is the best way to class change your units based on their goals?
There's plenty of good maps in conquest. But yeah 10 is probably the GOAT.
Claude's route is great so far for me.
you have a set amount of divine pulses you can use for the game i believe, not sure when/if they reset
if it alligns with their stats/strengths probably, though you don't get a penalty for refusing
>finishing The Last Remnant
>Picross is out
>FE is out
Fuck my life.
I don't think there is. Flayn and Seteth fucks off if you side with Edelgard.
What's the appeal of permadeath? You're just gonna be playing like a pussy, and if you die you reset.
I think I might go monkmode or marry Rhea in my Church route
I like how it's almost impossible to go Ironman without NG+
better than every single game sony has ever put out
That sounds great. Thanks.
Are there true endings and false/non-canon endings?
From what i heard this game is too easy, can someone confirm this?
this but unironically
Can you recruit Manuela from the get go?
Yo dude don't be bringing consolewar shitflinging on this comfy thread. No need for that.
How the fuck have you people finished the game. I'm only on chapter 12 and I got it early.
Just play hard mode with permadeath, it's adequately challenging
There's no canon/true endings. Just that Claude's seem the least canon out of them
Fuck off faggot to your console war thread.
What's the appeal of permadeath, you're just gonna reset when shit goes wrong.
Cope, faggot.
With having better games? Sure
>cringe story
>shit designs
>garbage graphics
>shit artist
>shit gameplay
>tumblr garbage
>cringe setting
>wub zoomer ost
>CGs looks like fanart garbage
is.shit
fuck off gachafag you're not fooling anyone
Would it be insane to start on hard mode as a newcomer to the series?
That's what I'm doing bro
And it feels manageable? Is there a way to lower the difficulty if it's too tough?
They don't want to hurt people's feeling by having an easy mode in the game, so they called it normal mode. Hard mode is the real normal mode.
the thing that always gets me about this is even disregarding the SMT side of things. There are even better fucking Persona Games than 5. it’s not even the best entry in it’s fucking series. All style no substance. Here’s hoping Royal can fix that somehow.
Not really, if you're well versed in tactical series already you've got this one. Especially if you've played any Disgaea or Tactics Ogre.
There's a lot of suffering in all routes but the most is Edelgard's. You can't change the difficulty midgame either.
guys I know I sound retarded, so I just got Rhea's first quest but I can't get out of the throne room, how do you open doors?
i've never played an FE game before other than the mobile one which was fun for a short duration. reckon it's worth me picking up 3 houses? like i fucking love 4x games and liked baby's first jrpg shit like persona5 and pokemon, it sounds a bit like a combination
Use keys
Byleths growths seem pretty high here. Most other units trade some specialization for some pretty big flaws in comparison.
It's a good starting point. The maps are gigantic though so you have to worry more about positioning. The weapon triangle isn't in the game but there's a lot of combat strats that can be applied in all games.
>Not really, if you're well versed in tactical series already you've got this one. Especially if you've played any Disgaea or Tactics Ogre.
Never really played any game like this before except for Advance Wars 1 when I was like 12.
Yeah you're alright
is there any i could possibly emu to try and get a feel for the series?
Idk you tell me, I just spent 90 cad on it, and waiting for it to stall. Literally never played a FE game before, and desu the trailers and gameplay look like dogshit but I'm still buying it because of this hype.
Is 3H good if you loved Conquest but hated Echoes?
considering it's far better than Conquest and Echoes, yeah
FE7 and FE8 are the best starting points. Awakening is also an alternative starting point
Incredible. This may be the best FE game to date.
That looks really bad, though. It doesn't even look like a boob. Just a random ball stuck down on her chest.
The gameplay is a slight step below Conquest (in Edelgard's route since it's the only one I've played) but the story is lightyears better
Didn't expect the box to be so large, heavy too. You'd expect a figure to be in here.
Not sure if trolling but it changes the way you play the game. You would think twice about sending a unit in to soften up some enemies if it means you'll never be able to the the unit again.
Where do I get fishing bait? Can it be bought in a store? Also, which units and pairings are most OP (I went with Claude/Deer)
Feels bretty gud to have a good exclusive again after Kirby and Yoshi both disappointed.
which games have ike in them and are they worth playing? i'm a smashfag who mains him so it'd be nice to get some context
That's literally how it works in many universities
Dude nice
Path of Radiance. Arguably also a good starting point since it's not too hard on noobs, the only reason why I pointed to FE7, 8 and Awakening is because of its meaty tutorial.
Edelgard is canon route
So is this all 1 game or did they split it into 3 like with conquest/birthright?
Nah. That was denied by the director of the game a few days ago
you're a legend my dude. ty
Again, you just reset if unit dies
What's the point
4 paths in 1 game
One, with 4 routes and over 100 hours of content.
This game is like the anti-fates.
in pretty much every way too as a good thing, this game feels so fucking refreshing
Oh thank god, after the bullshit they pulled with fates I didnt have much hope for the series
I never understand when people denounce permadeath because
>you’re just going to reset
yeah. i will reset. but here’s the thing. If i’m on like turn 20 of a map and i end up overestimating a unit’s abilities and they die? that reset is more than punishment enough, and i’m only doing it because i don’t have any other options. resets hurt. they hurt BAD. but without permadeath I don’t have to reset and therefore I can just continue blindly throwing units and enemies with almost no care in the world. and rewinding is baby shit
>go to check both Wal-Marts near me to try and get the cheaper price
>Lazy niggers still havent put it out yet
REEEEEEE
This
Yeah, honestly you trade better character arc for
>less, but meatier supports
>no S ranking marriages for everyone
>no stupid kids
>all routes in one game
>characters with personalities and motivations that don't suddenly change by the route
>actual commitment to the story they want to tell
>no super happy ending for everyone
>resets hurt. they hurt BAD
Not really
You just spend 20 minutes replaying map
There literally no punishment if you play like that
The fuck is wrong with these cats?
bro how is throwing away 20 minutes worth of gameplay and map progression not a punishment on its own? and then having to do it all over again just to get back to before your unit croaked? that’s 40 minutes of shit and only half of it was productive. how is that not a punishment?
>You can't pet the dogs or the cats
KUSOGE!!!!!
>story is good
>villains teleport whenever they're about to get killed
>they don't use their teleport powers anywhere else
Your first FE?
Because you literally don't lose anything
So character death is no different to even phoenix mode
If you had balls then you would face consequences and accept unit death
But of course since tellius newfags invaded series we can't have nice things
>different to even phoenix mode
You're a dumbass.
>Because you literally don't lose anything
You lose time which is typically perceived as a loss by the player.
The concept of loss in the context of a video game doesn't necessarily have to mean the literal loss of something of value in game.
if it's like with tactics ogre on psp you don't have to use it if you don't want to
oh i get it you’re being stupid as joke. no no it’s cool. i should’ve picked up on it when you said losing 20 minutes of real world time wasn’t a big deal. you got me, user.
Picking this up in a few hours. I know there's a way to grind indefinitely on Normal but how about on Hard? I really like fucking around with classes but I want to have a challenge as well.
Ironman is near impossible in this game until NG+
It's a lot more strict.
Which house has the best maps fucking answer
FUCKING THIS.
I smell bullshit, Byleth and Dimitri can almost solo an entire route
>RD newfags mad because people call them out from being casual trash
Lol
Reminder that if you removed the ability to side with Edelgard she'd be unanimously viewed as the main villain.
Claude > Dimitri = Edelgard > Church
They all have same maps
Is the weapon triangle really gone or is it actually a skill now like people are saying
Well, Dimitri is the closest to a hero in the game and she's literally his final boss.
So will Rhea though. And Rhea herself isn't bad, Seiros is just a batshit crazy bitch.
>most popular route
>but muh feelings
Deal with fact that shes canon lord of three houses
Can't wait to see her in smash
no they don't
>hangs out with guys because its "less drama"
>only takes pictures with guys because "its fun"
>asks guys for money because "laptop is dying"
Why does Yea Forums always fall in love with literal sluts?
Weapon triangle is gone but the breaker skills are still around. They've been replaced with Combat arts which use up more weapon durability
>why should you have to reset when you run out of health in an action game? the player should just have infinite health!
You should wait until people finish the game to talk about popularity and not just which house people started with.
Yeah, I hate reading too. Reading is for faggot niggers liberals sjws retards.
>t. coping Deerfag
Dumb gorillatard.
Pretty much this. It's comparable to playing Mega Man with save states every 3 screens. Technically you beat the game in the end, but it's probably more a series of flukes.
Sometimes I also don't reset if it's a new, useless character who did at the end.
Do you unlock a fourth path after doing each playthrough?
shit, just like every other fire emblem
Confirmed or still the same
>japs said it a couple of weeks ago so it must be true
Dark souls saves game every minute for a reason
Big surprise player just relaunching game from checkpoint everytime he doesn't like something loses nothing and no sane person sees it as "punishment", everyone sees it as a cheap way to bet game and avoid facing consequences of your actions
4th path is in Black Eagles after Edelgard goes full retard, you can stay around and tard wrangle her or go with another group
I so hope ironman hard mode is feasible. Conquest was garbage in that regard.
>Arguing with anybody screeching stale memes as an argument
Did i made a mistake by going fembyleth?
i can't lesbo most of the girls, not even shamir, what is this shit.
On my personal experience.
You can fuck the boar so it's all good. Or go gorilla if that's your thing
Is it viable to play permadeath ironman on your first playthrough?
But you can lesbo Rhea, That's all that matters.
>whats the appeal of permadeath
Why do people ask this question? Yes people will reset if someone dies but the appeal is it changes how you play the game because the risk is having to start the map over.
>permadeath player
>someone dies they will restart, thus they play the map more careful and more calculating
>someone who doesn’t play with permadeath
>if someone dies they get them back at the end of the map so they play without worry of losing units
Its really fucking clear. Plus the divine pulse thing meshes well with permadeath mode in that you can reroll if you get bad rng.
yeah sure if you like breaking your bones on a too soft ground.
Yurifucks are almost as sidelined as homos in this game.
Nope. You'd be left with literally only 2 units by the final map which is the house leaders and you.
>people WILLING choose to reset in permadeath
>WAHHH THIS IS PERMADEATH'S FAULT FOR FORCING ME TO RESET WAHHHH
How gimmicky are the maps in this game? I hated the gimmicks and dragon veins in Conquest.
>can get the game for 46€
>or the LE for 90€
>can also just wait longer and maybe get the LE for 77€
fuck what do I do
I wanna fuck Rhea
None of that shit, just standard FE stuff but we're literally missing the proper hard mode since hard here is like normal.
I lose the limited time that I have to play. I have a job, a girlfriend, I have to exercise, cook, clean. I understand that lost time to you is nothing you incel neet, but it's punishment enough for normal, non sexless people.
>inb4 projecting
No, you're a virgin.
A few questions for you lads
Is the game good?
Is there permadeath?
Is there character customization?
Fog of War+Warp Tiles are back. The Forests get fuck ton of avoid. Overall just kind of standard.
download it for 0€
Yes
Yes
No
i like having to reset you fucking moron. it gives me a reason to think about what i’m fucking doing. it makes it so i’m not just slamming numbers against other numbers not caring if mine come out on top. and when i do have to reset it makes me think about what i did wrong in that moment so i can try again and do it better this time. not every run has to be a god damn ironman.
Yes to all there but if you mean Byleth customization in appearance the you're outta luck.
Is the story any good or is it typical FE schlock?
For me it dethroned Genealogy and Thracia as pinnacle of Fire Emblem story telling
>typical FE schlock
This.
>that awful minimap
bbs.ruliweb.com
>Edelgard’s route realizes her ideals and ambitions
>Dimitri's involves him becoming a just king, through his story of searching for the light even in the darkness
>Claude’s explores this world’s mysteries.
That's from the writer himself, there is no canon
>get fucked by 2%hit 1% crit and lose a unit
>instead of restarting the map because of bullshit rng you can rewind
>this is a bad thing
I see it more as a way to not get totally fucked by shit rng.
>Dimitri and Edelgard's routes are all full of turmoil and suffering
>Claude gets away scott free
please, without spoilers. does the game's story devolve into MUH DRAGONS?
>First Atelier Ryza
>now Fire Emblem
We just can't stop winning bros
Do units start being a lot better once they promote? I had a fair bit of issues with the third mandatory story map on hard but everyone keeps saying this FE is piss easy
That's because he isn't an absolute retard
Yes, in all routes.
>makes a post making fun of those people complaining about reset
>random user is too retarded to read my post and tries to start a random argument
>expect to play this game a lot in handheld
>tiny as fuck text
>battery literally can't even do 3 hours
It's been shit for me.
Any lesbian romance options lads?? Or should I just play the male?
is punished Dimitri /ourguy/?
Nah. There is only 2 final bosses which are dragons and the rest are unique and separate.
He started bragging about getting this role before anything about Blyeth was officially announced
There are no supply lines or resources or anything. You just start each map with a set amount of units and that's it. Imagine if every mission was Mighty Kanbei.
How's the cunny?
>Edelgard
>Dorothea
>Mercedes
>Sothis
>Rhea
Yes
But S guys as a girl is much better, Dimitri is pure kino
Dragons are at the center of every route and the reason for everything happening in the story.
Am I supposed to do the exams as soon as I can? Like Byleths exp says it's maxed. Should I keep leveling before taking the exam?
thought you were the same weirdo screeching about people who started with tellius ruining everything. sorry user. enjoy your friday.
Imagine playing with troop revival and with a rewind mechanic.
Now imagine that the game was developed assuming players would use both.
Look, it's Three Houses!
Staring blankly at the screen while trying to decide on a house atm. Without spoiling too much, tell me if I got this right:
>Dmitri: absolute bro who, despite becoming punished Dmitri, fights for his people and just wants to be an all around good guy
>Edelgard: literally Daenerys, sweet girl who becomes a borderline tyrant due to having her head up her ass
>Claude: Hufflepuff, smokes weed and does his own thing
I guess I should've been more clear. Does the story try to handwave everything with MUH DRAGONS like fates?
Alright rate each main character from each route in order of most to least favourite. They are Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude and Rhea
Is there a list of learnable combat arts for each unit?
Nope. Edelgard is the main villain of Dimitri's route and the epicentre of why Fodlan is in disarray. Her route is the only one that goes REEEEEEing at the thought of dragons.
>Dmitri
Pretty much.
>Edelgard
She's not sweet even at the beginning of the game.
>Claude
Yeah.
Tellius kids are insecure as fuck, can't be helped
Claude = Dimitri > Rhea > Edelgard.
>Rhea gets a route
Imagine being so stupid that you'd criticize someone for skipping over FE dialogue.
Did you know that writing was invented before video games? There are things you can read other than translated Nip dialogue about friendship and 1000-year-old loli dragons. Who knew?
What are the differences between choosing the male and the female protagonist story wise?
Why is Manuela such a slut holy shit
I just joined the abey and she's all over my dick
Dimitri>=Claude>Rhea>>Edelgard
Dimitri > Claude > Rhea > Edelgard
Related to this, can I give Dimitri a good ending without marrying him?
Choosing male you can s rank girls
Choosing female you can s rank boys
Sorry I stoped reading at Imagine because reading bores me and is for fags
Yurishit options feel incredibly tackled on from what i've seen.
Otome auditory received way better treatment.
How hard can I make the game? don't really mind if normal is easy if i can just crank up the difficulty myself, but how hard can i make it?
If you're not a girl why are you avataring as a girl? Do you wan't to be a tranny?
Oh come the fuck on
It's almost as if being made a professor is suspicious for every character and makes no sense and is completely plot motivated. Stupid fucking Arthur posters as always.
Dimitri > Claude > Edelgard = Rhea
The only reason for a guy to go fembyleth is to see her getting manhandled.
Just fucking play Conquest, OP.
Ironman and no specializations on your students
You can lesbo 5 girls. Better than gaying only one guy.
Is the units you lead limited to your house or do you get others?
what do they do?
Can you rename Byleth like you can with Corrin and Robin? I like using my own name in those games everytime I play throught them.
Thanks, I shall join the blue bros for my first playthrough
You can recruit everyone besides the lords and their closest lackey.
Is there any major difference in difficulty between the routes?
Jesus christ those textures
This has to be the worst-looking game on the switch by a long shot
Yes
Claude = Dimitri > Edelgard > Rhea
The plots to the last few games have been so stupid that you can't really blame someone for saying "oh, more stupid garbage"
Chrom installed a new leader into a whole nation by winning a tournament in 1 chapter.
Yes.
>471793443
>에델가르트가 이끄는 흑수리반에 남성 유저층의 압도적인 지지가 있을 것으로 보인다. 청사자반과 금사슴반은 어떤 매력을 어필 하려 하는가?
It seems there is an overwhelming support from the male user base for the Black Eagle House led by Edelgert. What kinds of story do you want to appeal in Blue lion and Golden Deers House?
>쿠 : 각각의 학급은 서로 다른 테마를 갖고 있어서, 각기 다른 분위기로 즐길 수 있다. 에델가르트 쪽은 그녀의 이상과 야망을 추구하며, 디미트리는 어둠 속에서도 빛을 찾는 왕도적인 스토리, 클로드는 이 세계의 수수께끼에 가장 접근하는 이야기를 펼쳐 나간다. 그래서 어느 한쪽도 빠짐 없이 추천하고 싶다. (웃음)
kusakihara:
Each class has a different theme, so you can enjoy it in a different atmosphere. Edelgart pursues her ideals and ambitions, and Dimitri tells the story of a royal who finds light in the darkness, and Claude reveals the story that is most accessible to the mystery of the world. So I would recommend either side without missing out. (laughs)
He literally never said anything about canon or what not, the dude asked a question and he just answered it, stop lying on internet, or rather learn to cope irrelevant fags
Great, Byleth is a retarded name, mine is cuter
If I start in hard/classic, can I turn down the difficulty later? Everyone says it's too easy on normal/casual but I'm a massive bitch
Just picked my house and rhea already looks like a boring bitch
On one hand, I don't want to "waste" my favorite house on the first playthrough where I'll play blind, miss a ton of shit and so on.
On the other hand, I don't yet know if I'll actually replay the game once or even twice so that if I saved up my fav house I'd even get around it because other games come out too.
I'm in a dilemma.
you can always turn it down but can never increase it, try out hard and decide after a while.
Nope. You have to stick with that difficulty the whole game
THROW IT ALL AWAY and play your favourite house
Sure, but this game at least peppers you with questions as yo why you are being made a professor. Every single senior staff member asks why someone like you is made professor, but they ultimately trust the archbishop because she tells them to shut the fuck up and trust her. It's almost like the game spoon feeds it to you. I'm not saying this is good writing, but goddamn, the complaint is so fucking dumb.
>Three Houses was a Persona game all along
Oh no... Canonbros...
>Want to play around with classes but you can't grind on hard
Shit. I mean sure I could bump the difficulty down but I assume the game will then be too easy.
Your first playthrough is the most memorable, likely fun and in your case possibly the only fucking playthrough. Play the one that sounds the most interesting to you first. You’ll probably enjoy it more anyways when you’re not constantly stopping to use your mental excel sheets to see how your characters are holding up and who to use as what class.
What's with the 5heads?
>that 5head
Watch Byleth get Xander Mobus as his new voice actor
How enjoyable are these games without using guides at your side constantly to minmax your classes and stats and such?
I can get very autistic about it and hate the feeling of messing up things I can't reverse
female has more boobs and less kirbopher, otherwise I'm pretty sure its the same
Cutie
That Mona!Sothis is adorable also screw you for ruining Annette
>Male or female
>Name
>Ghost, mortal or demon
>Date of birth
My autism can't with this many choices out of the bag without knowing how will they impact the story.
How many save slots do you get in this game?
Enough for 1 per house?
Leonie or lysithea?
The worst part is that the textures are probably fine. They're just neglecting to run a filtering step that every other game does that fixes how angled textures look and costs almost no resources.
THE SITH EA
Did the online function explode for anyone else?
How many units are you allowed to deploy on average? Do you need to steal a lot of units from other houses or do you have enough with the kids you naturally get on each house?
The Switch is already struggling with this game's poor optimization. This, and a few other low quality settings, was probably a "compromise" to make sure the Switch doesn't just melt in your hands.
Why did she cut her hair?
Is it true that this game censored all lolis by making it so you can only romance them after a time skip at which point they are old hags (18+) already?
Learn what censorship means
smol
She thought that Mercedes won't molest her if she had short hair. She was wrong.
This girl is a total spergy wreck and I want to protect her autism.
I don't know if that counts as censorship, but yes, no marriage until after the skip.
Also fucks like a lion according to her ending.
Is it worth 60 sheckles?
>r9k the character
It's a creative way of appeasing the SJW crowd
>well we don't want to scare away all lolichads by not letting you get with any of them.. but also only once they are old enough
Now neither side will be truly happy
So why is Lysethia such a god tier Myrmidon? Got her budding talent, and Soulslash or whatever it's called just makes everything explode.
Came here to ask the same thing. Been playing since midnight, so might be a good time to stop.
Too much rout maps in Edelgard's route. At the very least Dimitri has a number of capture the _____ and defend the _____ maps instead of boring KILL THEM ALL.
I want to bully her
It's Path of Radiance + Persona which runs like hot garbage. Up to you. I think it's the best modern FE so far, but to me the bar was already pretty low.
What do the online functions even do? Because it keeps hanging on connecting whenever I do anything and the connection is always unsuccessful.
>Want to recruit characters
>Their requirements are all over the place with little overlap
FUCK
In my mind it is. Got the limited edition.
THE EMPIRE TAKES NO PRISONERS. SLAUGHTER
>rout maps
That's disappointing. If map objectives are that bad for Edelgard, I might just skip her route and play Dimitri and Claude's
I'll do anything for muh kween
Should I play with subs or dubs?
That makes sense, what do I need for Casper and Bernie?
Statistics on who the most popular characters are, what activity people chose everyday and Dark Souls-esque bloodstains in battle where you can see which tiles had a lot of fallen enemies/allies.
Is 4th path where you side with your dragon loli?
Characters from other players will show up in your school and give you stuff.
You can also loot corpses/spots where other people died a la Nier A iirc.
Both are good. If you like Bernadetta though, don't play Japanese for the sake of your ears.
Yep. You side with the church and betray Edelgard.
What the fuck are you on about? The japanese is what makes her actually properly autistic and spergy. I wish Kobayashi Yuu voiced her instead for maximum sperg.
damnit, I wish it was working then, wonder what the fuck is going on then, thanks.
Casper is STR and Fighting(Gauntlets) while Beradet is Dex and Bows.
Im going for Casper and Mercades, so Ive just had Byleth use Gauntlets and grind Bow levels from teachers. Hoping the levels give me enough stats to make the difference.
Is it that horrendous?
I've only barely started so I don't have a lot of impressions yet but I enjoy the pacing, world building music and voice acting thus far.
I like that there's more setup, both gameplay and story-wise, inbetween battles now.
Can't hear shit on that high pitched shit. The same reason I didn't like Felicia in Japanese
Compare and contrast
youtube.com
Sothis is cute and funny
Ive found most of the dub voice acting to be great (Golden Deer btw) with very few exceptions.
Lysethia, Raphael, Claude and Ignatz are all very good, with Leonie, Hilda and Lorenz being ok.
Only "bad" voice acting comes from Mercades, Ashe, and Dimitri IMO and even that is still fine.
So is this the beat localized Fire Emblem?
That girl is a riot lmao. I'm gonna steal her.
Neat, Casper is basically free since I was going to punch shit to death anyways. Thanks for the quick response. Let me know if the teacher levels are enough, won’t be able to play this game for awhile.
>censor a game so much that the characters, their names and some scenes are completely different than in the original game because half of the game is too "problematic" and "toxic" for the American audience
>some of the changes are even more problematic than in the original
>there are so many changes that the DLCs can't even be released without being completely rewritten from scratch, so the West gets an inferior, incomplete product because of retarded Americans a year after its release in Japan
>Nintendo of Japan tells you to stop doing that shit because of the loss of money from the unreleased DLCs, the people who boycotted the game because of the censorship and the people who wanted the censorship but didn't buy the game either and never wanted to in the first place
>finally release a new game that's not censored
>hire a voice actor who turns out to be an abuser despite caring so much about not being problematic
Fucking Americans...
Best*
Ah she's so cute and autistic
>Dimitri
I think he sounds rather good to be honest. I like his performance.
And that's the Rhea path people are talking about above? So if I want Sothis, I have to start with Black Eagles?
Probably
This or Sacred Stones yeah
You automatically marry Sothis if you don't marry anyone. Which is why a few folks here are going monkmode for their tulpa
How do I pick between eagles (edelgard) or deer (lysithea)?
I want to fuck both hard.
I think If you focus Gauntlets and swap to Swords later, you can probably get Felix too since he is STR and Swords.
Also Felix is a beast unit anyways so if your not Lions i'd say get him anyways. His growths are absolutely nuts.
I’m stuck between Edelgard and Mercedes. Fuck! I’m stuck between picking Black Eagles and Blue Lions.
she died in my game haha. oh well that's unfortunate
this, based
Cointoss
Heads = BE
Tails = GD
I don't want to spoil the ending for you, but I suggest you pick Lysethea
What? Does Edelgard always die or something? That cannot be happening. She wil, she MUST be my eternal wife
If Fates never included the children and their maps, never bothered with the trainwreck they call Revelation and if they instead decided to put Conquest and Birthright in the same cartridge the game would have been so much better. I'm still salty about it but I bought both Conquest and Birthright second-hand for the price of one game so I probably shouldn't.
Then pick Eagles and recruit Lysi, they even have cute supports
Is it true edelgard maps are mostly kill all enemies compared to Dmitri who is more varied?
Just pick Beagles and recruit her.
If you only want Lystethia for recruits, its pretty easy to rush them. Between assisting you in chapters, tea time, and gifts you can get B rank very quickly. Then you just do faculty training for whatever her skill is, and once you have a high enough rank and enough MAG you can snag her.
Got Dorthea by chapter 5 like this on hard mode.
How many cute and funny characters are there?
how many outside-of-your-house characters can you recruit per playthrough?
She doesn't die, but if you S rank her you don't actually marry her, you just spend 'private time' with her. You end up as pretty much her concubine.
any answers
as many as you want
Woah there is 0 loyalty with these people, huh?
Huh, byleth has a prf sword so it may not be a bad idea to do that too.
This But practically 2, maybe 3 if they synergize or share skills/stat requirements.
Gameplay. How is it? How much slice of life shit is packed between chapters?
Only Claude house as no loyalty. Dodue and Hubert are loyal to their respective house
I’m really confused about the master classes. There seems to be no upgrade path for some advanced classes into master classes at all.
Like for example, if you had a male mage or a fortress knight. Is this to make you use advanced classes over master ones?
The virgin Byleth vs the chad Ferdinand
Start with hard.
as many as you qualify for. you're limited in Hard Mode
The rng doesn’t reset, you’ll still get fucked if you make the same move again.
Hack your Switch and use the recruitment cheat
Which Beagle can I not recruit into Blue Lions or is it all of them?
You dont have to go right from one class to another, ala Cavalier into Paladin. You can go Myrmidon to Sniper to Wyvern Lord if you have the skill requirements and level.
Does anyone know what the requirements are to recruit certain units fron another house?
Does she still abdicate so ahe can get dicked 24/7 in the Ferdinand ending?
You can't recruit Hubert, he's too much of a beta orbiter to leave Edelgard
Hubert only. Same with Dedue (only non-recruitable in Black Eagles) and Hilda
> Connection unsuccessful
Why is it not working now.
>Hilda
She's not loyal to Claude and will jump to any house since she's the only "retainer" who has support with the opposite houses while the loyal retainers only have support for their houses only.
She just wants Sensei's dick
>Pretends resetting is a difficulty feature and not 99% mindless repetition
Just reset the entire game if you lose too many units to complete it and stop relying on saves as a crutch, brainlets.
Not gonna play this until lunatic is out.
weapon triangle ain't that important
>you're limited in Hard Mode
to what?
>mfw this menu text size.
I mean it's not Xenoblade X levels of microscopic, but it just looks bad when there's a huge dialogue box or menu on the screen and the text inside them is crammed together as small as possible.
I thought Hilda can't be recruited to the Blue Lions?
Grind for stats.
IGN was wrong again bro
Just started playing the game, anybody I should consider adding to Golden Chads?
same, frog here.
Is there a benefit to speaking to every student during explore?
Since the game seems to warrant multiple playthroughs, does the game give some ng+ bonuses to make it more interesting?
But you can just change it so the rng is different and bullshit doesn't kill you.
Crits in FE aside from killing weapons should be removed.
you can only recruit the students you have sufficient stats for, and in hard mode you can only choose so many stats to raise. so you'll invariably be locked out of most students and you'll need to focus on recruiting the ones you want
Ferdinand and Felix both seem pretty damn strong
Bernadetta has a pretty crazy Budding Talent in Riding if you want to go that route
Raising support levels seem more efficient than grinding for stats
Free affection points
The story is actually hot garbage, they thought going dark and edgy would make this story good but they also mix in sci-fi in fucking fire emblem. Last time I checked dragons didn’t try to stop near orbital missiles from blowing up a fort. They tried so hard to be like Drakengard and Persona/SMT. They fucked up also by having multiple endings. If you’re buying for the gameplay, all the routes have the same maps but in slightly weird orders. And the maps are bad... don’t listen to the market fluff and shills saying there is over 200 hours of gameplay, even if you grind maps it doesn’t take that long at all.
Felix, Sylvain, Ingrid are all good units from Blue Iions.
Bernadetta and Ferdinand are great too
>t. Never played fe4-5
don’t listen to this user...
There’s nothing about text size in the options menu?
I cant pick between edelguard and claude
claude seems based but edelgard is a mistery girl and apparently you get to know more if you pick her, damn
WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A LOLI INSIDE MY HEAD??????
Reminder that Edelgard is canon route
Nope.
Reminder Seteth is Flayn's dad and not her brother
Reminder that I canonically creampied Sothis
>ask student what he is good at
>get swarmed with random ass abbreviated names that I cant even decipher
>there is no glossary that explains what skills do in the menu where you see the proficiency, just a random icon
Can I live happily ever after with Empress Edelgard if I pick her house?
Lucky Dimitri
I went with Claude and so far I'm not regretting it. Raphael is best boy, the only thing that annoys me is that you only get one mage
The only thing that FE5 does better are the villains since they all seem like actual humans.
I liked 3 Houses better than FE4 and 5 combined
user, I...
You can turn most units into a decent mage
What the fuck, she's his daughter?
is the online part down?
Please tell me so I can make an informed decision. Because if the answer is no then I'll pick a different girl and/or route.
I was planning on either awakening Ignatz hidden talent or stealing Bernie from Edgegard
have Dodge, critcel
you can avoid crits in almost every situation, notably excepting a couple of instances like Hans's room in CQ 26
Yeah. It's been down for about 40 minutes by now.
Well shit, I’m fucked then. At least most things are voiced.
Ignatz is good since he gets seal str as a skill when he gets proficient enough. -6 str is nothing to scoff at.
That's exactly how it works at university, is this bait?
I don't have the game yet, retard. I don't know of ways to avoid them in this one, but in the other ones you could always get a 1% crit that kills one of your characters.
Do you guys play in the grid overview or in the zoomed in view where you run around yourself?
She eventually abdicates for you so you can fuck 24/7 without having to worry about the empire, no mention of kids though
Anyone?
I can'd decide if I want to play Blue Lions or Black Eagles first, I've already restarted once
What's a good order to do the routes? I can't decide which to pick.
Mdr retourne jouer a fifa pd
Just flip a coin you faggot
Do Golden Deer first, trust me on this one
I'm about 5 hours in
There's a lot to do outside of battle. Most of it is "optional", but you'll miss out on a lot of advantages if you choose to ignore that content. I don't mind it because I think the school shit is somewhat enjoyable, but I imagine that it could be kinda annoying on consecutive playthroughs or if you don't find it appealing
Not far enough into the story to say whether the writing is good or not, though it does seem promising
The battle system is pretty unconventional for FE. The weapon triangle seems to be gone (wtf), but the weapon classes are much more different from each other than ever before. Instead of having standard durability, magic can now only be used around 5 times per battle, but it recharges between battles without needing to get a new tome. There's also the rewind stuff. I like the idea of finally being able to cancel missclicks, but 3 times per battle feels like too much
Overall, I think I like it, but it's also wildly different from what I'd expect in a Fire Emblem game. Gotta give it some more time before I can be sure if it's good
>Golden Deer
No thanks
Unironically a good route to start on
