There's a lot. BoF Dragon Quarter for one.

Final Fantasy XI

That is not a typo.

Treasure of the Rudras.

Cant tell if your joking or serious

Yeah but its an mmo

I enjoyed every single other BoF game more than IV even if its gameplay was technically superior to some.

Idiot.

How the fuck did you enjoy bof1?

And you're a faggot.

I admit, it's the game I remember least about, but I do remember it having a faster pace than IV did even if its plot was just as uninteresting.

That pixel art looking kinda gay compared to 4

True but still

i found this shit in a storage locker. do i have to play the prequels before this to understand it?

3 was better. 4 also looks like washed out grey and brown shit and I'm fully convinced that the overwhelming majority of people who have played both and say 4 looks "just as good" are quite literally fully color blind. A surprising amount of people are.

No they are similar in theme but separate stories. Also 3 is very good, which people prefer comes down to style preference. 1 and 2 are also good, but grindy as fuck.

5 is like the last season of Scrubs. We just forget it happened.

Xenoblade 2.

DQ is pretty hard to forget, and I mean, objectively it does have the best gameplay in the series, so I don't know why you'd want to forget it

thanks, i found that and the psp version of 3. i dont have a psp unfortunately though

SMT Nocturne for me but BoFIV is in my top three jrpgs. The game'sonly flaw I feel is the low difficulty. It's a shame as the battle system is genuinely interesting, you just rarely ever feel the need to use it to its full potential.

Tactics Ogre

God, I miss this game. Fuck, I'll do a replay. You did this, user. You brought me back to heaven. I hope you're proud of yourself.

still best boss music

This is a mighty fine answer.

Disgusting taste faggot

Well BOF3 is legitimately my favorite RPG of all time so I'm glad I was able to. Godspeed, user.

DQ may not be a better BoF game than IV, but it absolutely is a better video game than IV, this cannot be debated.

There's quite a few of them, too many for one post, but BoF IV is still a damn good game. Probably the only pre-PS2 era JRPG that is still playable.

Poporogue, popolocroid monigatari 2 is fully voiced

Emulate the shit man. PS1 and PSP emulation is great. PSP emulation is scary good.

This needs a fucking steam/pc release

We will NEVER get a new JRPG out of Capcom.

>digusting taste
>posts nicki

Isn't MH an RPG?

I can't. I never played it.

Too complicated to be a JRPG, sorry

>have to walk back to master just to change master
>have to camp to see master bonuses
>can only change party members on overworld
>need to press diagonally to move in the map's cardinal directions
>Examine is seperate from Defend, with poor RNG to actually learn skills
BoF3 is missing so many QoL features that 4 implemented.

Nocturne
Digital Devil saga 1/2
Digimon world 3

Didn't they lose the SDK for a bunch of PS1 games?

dark souls

good wrpg

Surely Grandia 1 must rival it

youtube.com/watch?v=pgacxbSdObw

No. Story, pacing, combat system, characters are all worse in 3.
It has a few extremely powerful moments like reunion with Rei, but as a package it's worse than 4.

Most of them

These.
4 is still good

>Story, pacing
In IV you spend 90% of the game looking for Nina's sister like it's some kind of remake of the first game. Now III has long spaces between developments too, but at least the characters are trying to accomplish something mildly interesting

>In IV you spend 90% of the game looking for Nina's sister like it's some kind of remake of the first game
And it involves travelling around the entire world, all while seeing Fou-lu's downfall and discovering the lore bits about the world. In 3 for the entire Balio and Sunder saga you're just circling around the mountain. Then you get stuck in Rappala for at least 3 filler quests that don't correlate with the story whatsoever. Then the game forces you to re-explore all the same areas again. Pacing is just fucked and story is significantly worse than watching Fou-lu's misfortunes and justified rage at humanity.

>bof5 is good
>immediately absolute no-taste retards screech in their autistic shock

Keep shoveling turds down your throat, idiots, bof 5 is so superior to the others from gameplay, design AND plot angles, the earlier Breath of Fire games should be retroactively renamed to something more modest and humble, like "Puff of Smoke" or "Spicy Fart"

Attached: retard alert.gif (493x342, 393K)

I haven't played Breath of Fire, but Fire Emblem Awakening is a fun jrpg

Smt Strange Journey

BoF 2

that's a nice and very capcomish song. bof2's ost is better in general though

See but I like both a lot.

>Digimon world 3

BOF4 was the best visually.
BOF3 was the best in terms of dragon forms.
BOF5 was the best in terms of unique gameplay and aesthetic. One of the most unique JRPGs at the time, despite it being rushed and having tons of cut content.
BOF2 was a solid SNES JRPG that was made better in the GBA version. Shamanizing was a neat gimmick that made party members much more valuable than Ryu since Ryu's dragon transformation was only a one time use thing desu. Solid JRPG, and one of the best of its time, but BOF3 improved on a lot.
BOF1 is only liked by retards with nostalgia googles on.
BOF6 no longer exists and is best left forgotten. Even the manga wasn't good.

There, BOF franchise summed up.

literally the only flaws
other than those, one of my favorite jrpgs
