GOG is great, I try to tell my friends all the time but they want their steam achievements and stuff.

GOG has a habit of being a bit too zealous with their curation on new titles, and some devs are just being uppity refusing to branch out from Steam. It's annoying because there are a few games I'd like to play that never made the jump over the years, but I've closed the door on buying DRM'd software for good.

I've switched over to GoG for the most part, specifically becomes of DRM and Epic.

Because most of Yea Forums is literally retarded.

They have a issue with getting updates for newer games out.

I use it for what I can but a lot of games I want just aren't on it and companies like Activision and Konami know I'm not buying them again on GOG

I mostly use it when possible. But I feel like I am usually punished price wise. and let's face it, it is not always possible.

I love GoG but some of their ports are a bit lazy (where they just give you the game in a dosbox instance). Other than that I don't have a single complaint.

They're genuinely ass to work with, especially with a few specific publishers. They get *super* uppity if you intend to put your game over a certain sale threshold or bundle it with other titles on other platforms. We reached out to Night Dive to do a coupon distribution through Steam for System Shock 2 owners and GOG practically dropped us from queue because of it.

We'd fucking love to make those sales cross platform, but a) GOG doesn't have a "sale for if you own x" feature, and b) you have this ridiculous approval process for sales above a specific percentage that half the time get denied. We still *have* a GOG storefront but they're pretty much stunted how much we can discount during Steam sales on a dev cycle revolved around upfront fullprice copies and sale copies after that.

Using Steam DRM but being able to play on Linux is objectively far less restricting and harmful for gaming than the false advertising and Microsoft shilling GOG does.

No regional pricing, so at some countries Steam always got better offers.

this, I don't get why lots of Devs are lazy fucks with updating gog games when literal indie Devs sometimes find the time to make sure gog games are up to date, you mentioned pathfinder but larian and obsidian's Kickstarted games are always up to date on got as well.

dunno about fallout 3, but a game like vtmb comes prepatched with the community patch, whereas on steam you have to manually install the patch.
so it might be possible that fo3 is the same(?) with the unofficial patch

Problem with GOG is it's 50/50 if a game will work without issue on Windows 10 despite them claiming it supports it. Always stuck referring to their forums for common fixes and the like.

This is why I stopped buying new games on GOG. Some games aren't being updated at the same time as the steam versions. Not a big deal if it's a few days or a week but a month is bullshit.

Because I bought the smallest wallet fund available in Poland (35 PLN) and only then did the service tell me that the minimum wallet fund I need to have to unlock buying is 35.99PLN,so I need to buy another 35PLN fund for them to graciously let me buy anything. Until I do that, my money will be frozen on my GOG account forever. But wait, there's more. Even when I buy another 35PLN fund, I will have to wait 3 FUCKING MONTHS before they unlock buying for me because they have some kind of retarded "safety" system.

There are also other reasons.
1. Most games I am interested in are old games and CDPR had nothing to do with their development or production and now they want me to pay THEM full price for a cult classic that came out 20 years ago and not a single grosz will go to the devs.
2. GOG versions of some games include unofficial patches and fixes made by fans and no credit is given to them at all either in the file or on the website. CDPR took the product of someone's passion and work without even asking or at least giving due credit, and wants to get paid for it.
