More fun characters for sure though MvC3 does have presentation down the best of all VS games.

UMvC3's dev team had such a huge legitimate waifu war that Niitsuma and the other project leads had to ban the inclusion of female characters so they could actually agree on something and keep on schedule. Nina from BoF was the closest to being agreed on before it broke down.

The brand recognition wouldn't bring people in like Street Fighter or Vs. At least a Vs game sells itself (even if it's not with Marvel) and can include all sorts of obscure Capcom characters as long as the heavy hitters are there.

The only ugly character in DMC5 is Trish and I explicitly used her Marvel 3 art because that's easily her best look. Besides, I want 5 Dante in so I can use Balrog, Cavaliere, Double KA, Faust, etc. in a fighting game. Plus instead of his generic Level 3 he can now go SDT and use Judgement.

Are the TvC arcade boards hard to come by?

X-factor sucked because of how with level 3 on some characters you could straight up delete the entire enemy team in like 10 seconds, even if it was 3v1 and you were one hit away from dying. For all the shit it gets Sparking Blast in DBFZ is a lot better because while it makes your character way better it doesn't give them an "I win" button.

You don't realize how hard it was to leave out Leo & Ortega, but I felt like The Arisen could do the Sword & Board thing with even more going on and while Ortega is based as fuck I don't know how he would stand out from Alex (who is in because I wanted to do the TvC thing where each numbered SF gets 1 character) and Haggar. I considered The Scorpion but decided against it. Trust me, I love Red Earth & Slam Masters.

Also Killer7 & Dragon's Dogma are two of the best games Capcom ever put out you hyper pleb, and both are relevant because of re-releases they've had in the past ~7-8 months (both of which have connections to No More Heroes, oddly enough).

Bass.EXE is very popular in Japan and his abilities give him a lot of potential moveset material. Also X deserves to have the hold-button Buster instead of Zero for a game. Roll is there to represent Classic, and because I think mixing her unique TvC moveset with her MvC1/2 moveset (which is a clone of Rock's) would be the best of both worlds, plus the MM11 redesign is cute.

Trish I mostly added because I have hope that her moveset would be redone to be closer to her DMC4SE moveset. I actually think Trish in Marvel 3 is bland to play as barring some Round Trip shenanigans, but I think she's the most fun character of the 5 in 4SE. I'd really like her lightning-charged Ifrit/Beowulf moves as well as Inazuma and her use of Pandora played up instead of just being a somewhat bland trap character with a divekick that only stands out when using Round Trip for a teammate
