Why is Minecraft so comfy?
Why is Minecraft so comfy?
isolation in an odd yet familiar world
They still haven't made a texture for iron doors?
Cause I said so
>controller
>start a project
>complete it
>get bored
>go play something else
I don't know user, I just feel.
I’ve walked in all directions in the nether for fucking hours and can’t find a fortress, how the fuck am I supposed to get blaze shit anons, I want to brew
youtube.com
why cant you guys be as creative as Yea Forums's favorite cartoonist?
1.14 has brewing stands just laying around in certain village houses
>tfw get a fortress right in front of my portal
>spawn within 5 blocks of a fortress entrance
>kill blazes, go back, adventure to the Stronghold
>coordinates to connect the portal are right at the end of one of the Fortress's bridges for maximum aesthetic
He still needs the blaze powder to fuel them
How do I gain the autism required to want to build something in minecraft?
Wanting to build isn't autism. Sticking with something massive and consisting of monotonous rote construction is.
adderall
It's not.
It is
>minecraft is popular again
>even had a few friends say they've been playing it recently
>decide I want to give it another go after all theses years
>bought the game in alpha
>my account it gone and I can't recover it
Nice one jewsoft
If you can remember your ID you can get it back. Same thing happened to me.
Might take a couple weeks though.
Did they make hosting a world any easier? If it's like Terraria then I'd actually play it.
that one is on Notch desu
same thing happened to be but Notch was still leading mojang and Minecraft had it's full release out
They used to have a separate site where you could log in with the old account and convert it to the new one. Did they get rid of that?
It's only popular again because of Pewdiepie
It bothers me that the colors aren't in order.
(it's not)
Vivecraft is next level comfy. Completely re-sparked my love of the game
Cozy Minecraft Cottage + fireplace + raining in game is the comfiest thing ever.
I've never played this. How do i get into minecraft? Can i pirate it?
What resource pack you got there famalopi
it's a really old one (discontinued) from a server I used to play on.
im not sure why, but it just is
I'm glad Yea Forums likes Minecraft again
Never got into Minecraft.
Am I too much of a boomer to start now?
This, also are there any recommended mods that focus on survival?
I want it to be comfy because it’s dangerous outside
Nope, but it'll be a learning process. Just start a vanilla world and fuck around. Have the recipe section of the wiki open probably, most of that isn't too intuitive.
anyone else like to build rooms really high in the sky
If you're new probably don't focus on mods yet. Just learn the basics, won't take too long.
I'm still depressed because I can't mod it, and Microsoft are Jews and won't let mods on the xbox.
>Always think a snow biome will be comfy
>I always end up hating it
Just give me a great big island I can build a bridge to the mainland from
it actually isn't
>mobs are all floaty and feel incorporeal
>blocks are way out of proportion to acquisition, so you go from having no building materials, to having a finished base, to having infinite varied materials that you don't know half the names of
>farming is gay
>pets are gay
>grinding and mining are absolute chores
>exploration has been cucked every update save aquatic
>not to mention the main goals of nether fortress -> ender dragon are either laughably easy or absurdly tedious depending on skill and rng, and there is literally nothing inbetween
they need to just start again from the ground up
Java or Bedrock?
reminds me of the sky aquarium in SM64
The basics of Minecraft haven't changed that much, they've just added more you can do later on. The wiki is also autistically thorough if you need help.
I'd stay away from multiplayer though, unless you're doing it with friends. Most of the servers have really autistic rules and custom settings that rape the fun of the game. Almost everyone you run into will be a little kid or a massive degenerate.
what shader?
nope I just upgraded my account yesterday.
yeah, I did that back in the day
still no dice
Java if you're experienced, bedrock if you're new. Still probably Java if you're new and planning on swapping to mods eventually though.
Java, the answer is java
im actually kinda trying to build that, proportions are wrong though. but i just like the idea of a room totally submerged with windows looking out into the sky
Because pewdiepie influenced you to think so.
>Start a few relatively simple projects
>complete them
>feel accomplished and keep playing
>promising yourself you're finally going to stick with the game till the end and do all the major content
>start taking on larger more complicated tasks to pass the time
>realize just how inconvenient, time consuming, and repetitive the game can be
>you spend hours a project and start encountering problems/get frustrated
>get stressed start making mistakes
>you complete it
>it wasn't even worth it
>you just feel fatigued
>push yourself to play just a little bit more
>one last annoying thing happens
>fuck it
??/10 Would fall down a ravine agian
Pewdiepie is playing it because it's popular again
>need blaze rods to power a brewing stand
Fucking WHY was this added
Vaseline + bloom
Not automating grinding and mining
Potion brewing is pretty fucked in general.
>spent nearly an hour melon hunting
The white to black should be reversed and pink should be between red and white.
The future of minecraft is here.
ha that person died to a creeper
in my opinion there is no such thing as a comfy minecraft world with out a lighthouse.
Why wouldn't we
Minecraft is only popular again cause all the kids migrated to fortnite and pewdiepie started playing again.
Eventually something will come out killing fortnite and you guys will say how it was revolutionary and way ahead of its time and go back to playing it.
I've been here forever and that's how it always happens. All these mediocre games get memed into people believing they're good cause of nostalgia.
Minecraft is actually a really good game and I've owned it since indev, but its a shame what happened to it.
server where?
>Minecraft is actually a really good game and I've owned it since indev, but its a shame what happened to it.
I mean I don't really "Play" minecraft. Just more or less treat it like a virtual zen garden or simcity clone with actual real people in it.
More widely available shaders and high quality texture packs. Seriously. It's why I got back in to it, it's like having a breath of fresh air in an older game.
>build a big wall around village
>spruce up the place
>make a small castle that connects to it
>put a lighthouse on the corner of the walls that face the sea
>sit at the top of it and look down upon the villagers
>youtu.be
That makes me uneasy.
MOJANG...
microsoft*
WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO AFTER YOU HAVE MADE A GOOD BASE AND FARM?
gonna need my gunnar optiks for this one
how do people STILL play vanilla minecraft?
It's not too late; there's plenty of people of all ages groups that play it. Though you definitely want to stay away from mods until you learn the fundamentals. It's surprisingly challenging if you're going in expecting a kids game. There's a Hardcore mode with permadeath built-in if you really want to.
It peaked at 1.3-1.6
what are your favorite texture packs?
I use chromahills right now but back in the day gerudoku was my shit
with all the shader mods and modernist textures I feel more like making Dues Ex Adam Jensen style apartments or something from mirrors edge.
My music when I build
youtu.be
>2008-2009
>in high school, junior/senior year, whatever
>notch posting on Yea Forums
>taking suggestions from random posts, adding skeletons, creepers, etc
>browser Java client updated constantly
>sneaking into the computer lab during class to play Fall/Pit servers with friends
>teachers pissed because a handful of friends and I introduced the game to everyone
Everyone forgets the game is over a decade old at this point. It's insane to think that it went from being a shitty Yea Forums game dev thing to whatever it is now. It's unplayable without mods though, at this stage.
Is wool or colored clay better for building pixel art in my world? I feel like wool is easier to get but I dont want it all to burn from lightning
I dislike most texture packs. People seem to not realize that there are different shades of green and that creeper green is not leaf or grass green.
Sphax is for people who are brain damaged. The new texture pack they've shipped the game with is terrible. Big fan of Conquest.
concrete
*AHEM*
Hunger sucks dick
>It's unplayable without mods
zoomer please go
I can't believe that Yea Forums illiterately made notch and minecraft a fucking billionaire.
On a related note you will never be able to afford an apartment like this.
if you are ever in danger of starving in Minecraft you're fucking retarded
they added concrete? How do you get it?
can it be dupped with the new dupping bug?
conquest
>pewdiepie started playing again.
Pewdiepie only started playing the game for the first time recently.
The problem is you are never in danger. Ever, other than the very very start of the game. Once you have a small farm or a couple of animals, all the hunger bar does is be a thing you have to sate every six minutes.
My favorite thing to do in Minecraft is to fortify villages into castles and set up a subway system in between towns. Its nice having populated castles. Villagers are fun to be around and its a real challenge keeping them alive.
>for the first time
my dude he was making Minecraft videos in 2010
Exactly. It adds nothing when it's so easy to avoid. It just becomes a chore.
>kids leave minecraft to go to fortnite
>generally minecraft has less kids now
>people start coming back due to nostalgia and new shit
>retards still claim pewdiepie brought us back
>tfw pewdiepie will most likely bring kids back to minecraft and ruin it again
>using a modpack with a bunch of block patterns
>buildings still look boring
How do I fix my aesthetics
heh you fell for my bait. now i know you've been watching pewdiepie for 9 years you nerd bitch
I use a pack I took from a really old pack comboed with a few reskins for Stone Tools and then repacked for modern MC.
Damn shame Kai stopped working on it, it was a pretty nice pack overall.
HE WAS DESTROYED
Starving is punishment for playing incredibly badly and a fail state if you completely fuck yourself and get trapped somewhere.
Hunger's practical purpose is controlling the pace of how you regenerate health which it does plenty well now that they've made it a burst you can rely on mid-fight instead of having to run and hide for 30 seconds.
Minecraft is an actually good game with a solid foundation but fortnite is a house of cards balanced around broken design choices.
not build cubes
Don't build rectangles for starters.
Either shave off the entire outer edge or build outward a block or 2 from the edge. Triangular rooftops. Or go completely out of line and go with abstract cubism, build cubes/rectangles intersecting other cubes/rectangles. Perhaps some sphere too and have the whole monstrosity rising into the sky.
I don't mind it regenerating health, it's just fucking annoying have to eat every god damned six minutes even when you are out of combat.
Also, it's fucking impossible to be "trapped" in minecraft. Even if you have no tools you can just fucking use your fists to get out of a cave or whatever. I don't think I've ever even heard of someone starving to death unless it's in some modded game.
which looks better in your opinion?
that's a long chest
or this?
>never seen a snow flurry irl
>pirate Minecraft Gear VR Edition
>requires Xbox One bluetooth controller
:(
Why not both?
where the fuck can i download this map???
2nd, but I'm not gonna lie to ya, user, they both look like shit with whatever textures and shaders and shit you got going on.
I have a slanted roof on the other side but I don't like how it came out.
>Build a little castle
>Friend starts building his own castle
>Build an aquarium
>Friend starts building an aquarium
That legit looks kinda shit.
Is there still no option to just disable hunger in vanilla that isn't turning on peaceful? How hard would it be to add the option to disable a mechanic that wasn't originally in the game?
The map is Broville V.11 google it. but the pictures is just my own shit I've done myself with SEUS PTGI e8 and UI 2048x textures. You can pirate them both on yiff party.
WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE CONFIG FILES FOR VANILLA
I started playing again as well and I find myself having so many things I want to build and don't know where to begin so I end up not building anything
thanks man. this broville map seems sweet, gonna download it. also, your pics are awesome
have you considered learning 3d programs and making rooms in those instead of minecraft
i just set up pc minecraft for my vive. took me about 5 mins
Minecraft is the best when you're doing something you've never done in the game before, figuring it out for the first time is wonderful
no because its some eurofags texture/model pack. I'm just building with it.
>How hard would it be to add the option to disable a mechanic that wasn't originally in the game?
user it's been part of the game for almost nine years, it's time to let go
minecraft reminds me so much of those facebook/mobile games. you have to wait irl time for anything to happen, you want crops farm skeles, only at night or wait 10 irl min for them to grow. you want steak? that will be a 5min waiting to just to breed and another 20 or so minutes for the calf to grow want an enchantment find villagers and abuse them (removed post 1.13) or spend time to make a mob grinder for rng equipment. take the time to find lapis and roughly about an hour or two you will have your stuff and then...
The maximum fov setting is called quake pro, being a boomer doesnt mean you wont find some fun in it.
it would be a waste of time learning how to construct and render a room just for it to be static when in MC with shaders you can walk around, interact, sleep etc..
every minecraft thread is met with disgust
>pewdiepie says minecraft is cool
everyone is in love with minecraft
>zoomchan
I wish there was a way I could build a room/house with these feels.
trying to capture mood in a space is a challenge.
>bought my account like 12 years ago
>got hacked
>have the email i bought it with but the skrill transaction id is gone if they even used it back then
What the fuck are my options bros?
damn dude this is sick
>$5.75 on G2A
idk user
well good night
>Look up your cords
>go here chunkbase.com
>pick nether fortress in apps
>want to play minecraft
>play for a few days and stop
>repeat every few months
someone needs to start a server with a new map, the only fun way to play minecraft is if you start from scratch with people
Praise Water Sheep
The mood in this image is relaxed, slightly regal, inviting, and a touch curious. I approve.
>Have the recipe section of the wiki open probably, most of that isn't too intuitive.
>t. guy who hasn't played past 1.12.2
is this house in the broville map? or did you build it yourself? if its in the map, can you tell me where?
anyone remember when there was like a 1/6 chance of getting a world that was eternally snowing? building a small house in those worlds was leagues more comfy than modern-day minecraft
>16 gigs of ram
>nvidia 2060 super
>no mods
>have frames set to unlimited
>game is at 60 fps and fucking drops
IM FUCKING FUMING WITH THIS JAVA BULLSHIT SOMEONE HELP
Sorry for the trip just needed to help you
It's actually the apartment I built for myself in the map when I helped do interiors for that project (I was on that team). But you won't find that bathroom/apartment in the map (v11) you downloaded, or rather I completely renovated the one I buit for the release way back when.
If you want to find the orginal I made the building is called glassbox lofts and its on the topfloor with my trip on it. For a point of reference its located between the space needle (BN tower) and the lighthouse and directly behind the boardwalk beach scene. The closest metro stop being "Boardwalk" if you have the map.
Ment to say the apartment I posted here was just something I redid locally on my end.
Does he still deserve to suffer?
For those of you who primarily like vanilla with a few simple mods, Win 10 edition has been great for me thus far. Addons are literally just a different name for mods, you don't have to buy shit and it's simple to do.
Except you also need Windows 10?
What processor do you have? Minecraft is cpu intensive. Also you have to manually allocate more ram in the launcher.
I have a 1080 and ryzen 5 2600 and it runs like shit for me with or without mods, textures, and shaders.
Ryzen 5 1400
fuck... Is there any other way to fix it?
Creepah?
Awww man.
What GPU do you use? I've got an RTX 2080 and every single time I load a map with Rudy's 2048x textures with SEUS PTGI e8, my game shits itself. With SEUS PTGI my game runs decently and I never crash, but it's always with 2048x textures.
I wish that was still a setting or something
I'm sure there's a mod for it maybe
Beyond the Lands.
Would have picked Dokucraft, but I only like 16x16 packs
i cant explain this but this image makes me feel uneasy and it fucking depresses me
think of something cool then try to build it
>Windows version lets u join ur friends world whenever he is on.
>Java still
>Summer
the Zoomer invasion every damn year
Cringe
because you have autism
Where does the chest portal go?
the chest dimension
I wish the world was mode dangerous, and there was more compelling progress.
I have fun in for maybe 20-30 ingame days, but then I become too strong, my base, mine, farm and outpost feel solid enough, I no longer am afraid and no longer need to expand, and I just get bored and reckless, and ruin something and quit.
I've had a similar experience with GTA games, where I play for a few missions, get bored, save, use cheats to cause a war in the city, die, and quit. I do this several times, and quit the game before even completing the campaign.
Whats the cure for this disease?
>isolation in an odd yet familiar world
Thats like 64 blocks deep, breh.
What's in them?
your accounts still there, you'd have to change it to a Mojang account now or something
plus some Filipino kid probably hacked it years ago.
I took a 2 year break from the game and some Malaysian kid had stolen mine. Just emailed support and got it back, but had to wait a month to change my username and skin back.
chests
Oh.
>i7-9700k
>500+ frames in vanilla
>150+ frames in All The Mods 3
AMD FAGS BTFO
>Why is Minecraft so comfy?
Irrelevant question. You might as well just ask why water is wet.
Literally happened yesterday after a week of playing. I wanna get back into the game but have seen/done everything years ago and can't justify and 3+ hour/day time sink any more.
Autism.
This. It has an dreamlike alternate-dimension kind of vibe.
ZOOMER ALERT!
Are there any mods that make it similar to factorio or satisfactory? I want to build great furnaces and glorious machines with pipes sprawling the surface of the world, draining its resources.
I played a couple of years back with a few mods I remember, one was mystcraft where you could travel to new unstable worlds by making books, another was thaumcraft where you researched some kind of magic taint spreading the world if I remember correctly, also enjoyed ic2 but I don't remember shit other than solar panels was neat.
I like the idea of exploiting/researching and containing a dangerous substance/force, is there something like this?
Are there mods to make the environment more dangerous? Like 1000 turrets to keep the horde at bay in factorio levels of dangerous?
Many questions but I've been thinking about mc quite a lot recently, I really want to get back into building something great.
Question for you epic gamers
I have a 3 letter name that predates the account switchover which I did last year, but is it true that people can copy my name in servers now?
Whats a good modlist for solo Minecraft in VR?
thanks man
So since this thread is still alive might as well say it.
So I started a new hardcore world in 1.14 and recorded me playing and uploaded it on youtube for the heck of it. There are only 2 episodes right now but they are a total of 5 hours. There is no commentary, no faggot face in the corner and no editing present, just pure unaldurated gameplay.
Anyone interested?
Because it's largely just a toy.
For you
>building a little cottage on top of a snowy mountain
Comfiest feel ever.
>want to make something nice looking
>end up buildgin straight lines everywhere
Why can't i be good.
i agree sphax is shit but the main reason everyone uses it is because it's about the only texture pack that supports all the good mods.
in vanilla i liked Dokucraft back in the day because it made the game feel like an old RPG
>Turn off the game audio.
>mine stone with a pickaxe.
>hear the sound effect of stone breaking in my head
Holy hell that broville map other people mentioned, this is the single most impressive thing I’ve seen in Minecraft. How have I never heard of this before? Crazy how every building has its own rooms and how much shit there is on every street
I this game is only playable to me with shaders.
Its incredible how much soul the game gets from it.
Nice.
someone give me a nice vanilla server pls
There many different mod packs that replicate the factorio experience. Manufactio is one of them.Sevtech is another with emphasis on magic and technological age progression.
Gregtech: y/n?
GTNH y
otherwise n
There was a vegan journalist/player who got upset over resorting to eating fish due to impending starvation
pls respond
Wheat farms are easy as fuck to build though. I always kept my private server on 1.7.10p2 (because I got tired of new updates to the land generator fucking up my world) where animals didn't respawn, so the one of the first things I'd do was grow wheat. Kinda related, I recently decided to try whatever the latest Win10 bedrock version is. The new world put me in a hill biome with rivers and an endless supply of salmon and it's practically negated the hunger meter. I'm surprised at how much they've added without really taking anything away from the experience (IMHO). I do miss my texture pack, though.
Also to put this in context before someone jumps down my throat, I play vanilla and only like once or twice a year.
>time exists
welcome to reality user
It is comfy but for some reason I cant get into it like I used to when it first came out, im trying to think of things to do but nothing comes to my mind
Guys, is OptiFine for 1.14.4 broken? Have no water shader, using SEUS
Because you can play as all kinds of cute girls and build some neat stuff with your friends. Also, if you die, you don't come back.
