This game started off excelent and I really liked the twist but it just kind of fell flat after that

Combat system was fantastic but underutilized for puzzle bullshit. Also did not like the "mmo" setting, really felt awkard when nothing going on really matters or things happen thoruth l33t haxxs

I like top down shooters but the gameplay of this looks quite boring. It really lacks intensity and looks like mindless enemy spam. Nex Machina it isn't.

Nah I don't buy that, they'll play all kinds of disgusting looking programmer art pixel games if they're metroidvanias or something. But then a game like Blazing Chrome comes out which looks fantastic but gets completely ignored, same with Fight N Rage and Nex Machina to a lesser extent, though those picked up steam since release.

Cave Story is the OG, and Curly is cute as fuck. She's sweet, and she helps you win. The fact that you have to save her does a lot to increase the player's emotional attachment to her, even though there's not much dialogue in the game.

FTL and Rimworld are the only indies I played for any amount of time. Indies have terrible balance and you will usually realize it very early into the game. Dead Cells, Into the Breach, Darkest Dungeon, are all examples of that. Brainlet budget gaming to be avoided as much as possible.
